The unstable smp, Joel and conk, and (MAYBE) the wifies king in yellow retelling are all connected.
This is a crazed, somewhat uncomprehensive explanation, it’s currently 3 am, im running on 3.5 hours of sleep and a pink monster. I may be reaching when it comes to the king in yellow arg.
—Spoilers ahead for all of these series obviously
Let’s start with the Unstable smp, the main two that i watch is parrot and wembu. Wembus best friend is eggchan, remember him. Egg Chan is so focused on documenting everything, documenting civilizations, the farlands, weird glitches and patterns, he documents it all while Wembu fights and goes on searches, but egg is always there. in the newest couple videos egg gets taken, and has to give up the book holding all of this documenting. As of now we dont know what’s going to happen with it.
Joel and conk just released videos of the tiered civilization where they have to battle against other players with an all seeing, all knowledgeable eye in the middle controlling it all. The black around the levels are all players that lost. There’s a different universes Joel, which still confuses me, and towards the end one player who has won this game before called out the eyes name, eggchan. Of course the eye gets mad and doesn’t want the player to say his name, atm i dont remember why (i will figure out why, i just need more sleep first) . This connects Joel and conk to the unstable smp because eggchan/the eye is the same person, also eggchan’s skin’s head is a giant eye. Just thought that would help my case.
Now for the part that i might be reaching for. Wifies might just be telling the king in yellow story in his own way through Minecraft, and it’s this new part two, that just got uploaded i think earlier today as im writing this, he goes on to tell the story of what happens after part one, as most part twos do. One of the things that D3rlord (one of the two players) says is “Your universe is looking a but unstable” UNSTABLE SMP BRO. Now keep listening. I know, i know. There’s a common theme at the end of the video of the all knowing, floating eye. Where else did we see this? Joel and conk. Yes yes now stay with me. Wifies used to be part of the Unstable smp, its mentioned in some of parrots and wembus videos sparingly, so we know that the creator of this arg has connections going back to these same server that eggchan is on. As the floating eye, The King, is deteriorating and corrupting it flashes images, now i did not pause, i did go back and look at the flashing images as they flashed a few times, and I believe that theres a few photos of the unstable smp mixed in with images of the dimension that AveryTheMayo and D3rlord are currently in and also shown earlier in the videos (part one and two). The eye offers knowledge to D3rlord to stop this corruption, who else has a lot of knowledge? Eggchan because he’s always documenting everything. He learns, he has so many moments in the videos with wembu where he just knows the most random shit, he will pull out the most helpful but random shit. Egg knows everything.
Also are we going to talk about how Avery just kinda got there outa nowhere? They were on a platform with no blocks to walk across to get there, that kinda bugged me, maybe the eye/king was able to merge with the host even after the spell, maybe it was to late and thats how Avery got there. Cause how did you go all the way back to the tree and look around, he prob stayed there for a while too cause he takes his time ( especially with the damn church ) and then just found D3rlord in the middle of a black pit? Just spawned there basically? How’d he even know where D3rlord was.
Anyways back to the point.
My hypothesis is that eggchan is the king in yellow in this retelling. The common portrayal of the giant floating eye between Joel and conk, and also wifies arg was my biggest piece of evidence, Joel and conks video telling us that the eye was egg, the eyes all having immense knowledge, wifies being connected to the smp prior, and egg in the smp being so devoted to collecting knowledge cant be a coincidence.
Rn an even lesser theory is that it’s all at separate times tho. It started with the smp, once he was able to gather all knowledge he could, he became the floating head in Joel and conks video, and was finally destroyed in wifies retelling.
Is this very, VERY outlandish, absolutely. Do i need to get this out there somehow? Also yes.
Thank you for coming to my ted talk.
It is 2am here and honestly I skimmed thru most of this but I agree whole heartedly. Although I don’t watch a lot of unstable smp, I’m aware of their connections with wifies and joll and conk and honestly found it suspicious how they were recently talking abt a “floating eye” trope lol. I also like ur separate times theory. Ig my main q now is: what story does this create? Will there be more?
Ok below is a SFAWTDE rant…
Also, just me, or did the sequel for SFAWTDE feel a little strange??
1. Like I remember page 4 of th og “at the crossroads don’t turn left” book had a code, but in the sequel it literally just says “Run Avery”. Not even the og translation: “Run Avery, it’s here”. Like idk if I’m on smth but args are literally all about attention to detail so why would wifies change something like that for no reason? For a sec I was expected some alt universe plot twist but it just went on.
2. Anyone else think about the “Why Avery?” Part near the end too?? I think I have a theory. And it’s that the reason why the king doesn’t answer is because the opposite cannot happen. “Why not D3rlord3” because that’s what literally kills him. The king HAS TO KNOW BEFORE THAT SCENE THAT MERGING WITH D3RLORD3 RESULTS IN DEATH. But if he does know this, and also knows everything that goes on inside his domain (ex. The barrel with the chant that merges a person and the king) then HOW did he not see this coming earlier? It doesn’t make sense. The king can literally censor the chat, how did he not prevent the chat from being sent (Maybe this is more plot hole but still)
3. Something felt off with that final interaction with Avery. Avery randomly teleported there (like u said—weird bc the king is being destroyed at this point. Like a. Why bring Avery if you won’t merge or b. How is Avery even there if the King didn’t bring him). He kept backing away from D3rlord; his tone at the start was very… accusatory?; the random string of letters he sent which don’t make any sense if he’s supposed to be in his inventory (maybe he keyboard smashed after falling off but idk if you can have inventory out and type in chat in java). + never specified whether Avery has to leave the space or world or Minecraft itself to be safe from the king. How would killing Avery work if he spawns in kings domain?? ALSO why did he have a sword? What was he even using that shit for?
TO SUMMARIZE: I love your theory and I agree with it completely. There HAS to be something more (no way it’s a coincidence). I think we can all this: searching for a joll that is unstable💕 /j
But also I gotta share my own thoughts on the sequel which felt off to me. I liked it, but it didn’t feel complete. If any of this doesn’t sound right (+all the grammar stuff), please excuse me and my sleep deprivation
