Please, please, PLEASE, reblog this. i don’t know if I did save or called false alarm, with my boss’ life tonight. I felt I was being a bit paranoid, overreacting, but I told Mirage my thoughts and he, after reading over the article I showed him, immediately sprung into action and then shooed her off to the hospital. I don’t know if I did or not, but I knew she’d been super stressed. She’d off-handedly commented on her arm tingling and I asked her if she felt queasy on a hunch. I went to look at the symptoms and we went from there.

Holy shit, I didn’t even think the symptoms would be different between men and women. This is so hugely important and I don’t understand why we aren’t taught this.

One of the other symptoms that doesn’t get talked about , especially in women, is a “feeling of impending doom”. I am not even kidding, that is a legitimate diagnostic criteria. Please - if you are feeling any of these symptoms and a sudden onset of “Holy shit the world is ending” do not let anyone tell you it’s “just nerves” or “just heartburn” or something.

I wish there was some sort of blanket you could cover yourself with but it didn’t make you warm it just provided the sensation of being covered because some nights it’s just too hot for a blanket but I need something covering me so it’s a choice between boiling to death or being completely vulnerable to monsters

What you are looking for is called a weighted blanket! They come in different sizes, types, and weights and you’d have to do some research to find the right one for you. Usually they’re made of a light, but reinforced fabric, and are filled with evenly space weights (mine is weighted with a type of plastic bead). Unless you have it made to keep you warm, they’re usually quite cool!

I actually live where 90°F is an average temp. and at night I often sleep with just the weighted blanket since it still provides a protective sensation without overheating me. It’s designed to help you feel grounded. 

Mine has a custom fabric (I picked an avengers one), is full sized, and weighs about 17 pounds (which is one of the heaviest ones, i think the average is about 10 or 11 lbs. but dont quote me on that).

It’s a great investment if you have trouble with disassociation and it’s fantastic for sensory processing disorder, adhd, autism, and anxiety!

if you have some sewing experience theyre actually really easy to make. it’s just two soft sheets with stuff in the middle.

Honey wasn’t made for me, so I’m not gonna take it, is pretty much how I look at it. The bees made it because they wanted to nom it, so I’m not gonna nom it. Same with beeswax and other bee-made products.

I do buy other non-bee products from local beekeepers who I know to help support them with their preservation of our lil’ fuzzy friends though.
