#𝐄𝐌𝐎𝐔𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐄 — 𝘨𝘪𝘳𝘭 𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘵 𝘨𝘰𝘥. an independent, highly selective and private original character, exploring lost girlhood and power and everything in between. — est. october 2016, revamped september 2021.
a study in: wanting to be wanted, loving the idea of love rather than knowing love itself, reluctant benevolence, necessary evils, bending fate, what a family isn't and what it can be. ♫

some rules:
if you’re here then we already know each other and we already write together. this is my self-indulgent little space for my girl, rory. go over her little about info bc i took her back down to basics. no lore or anything.
rory’s bio is chock-full of triggering content. i won’t write an extensive biography but triggers will include: alcoholism, substance abuse, grooming, statutory r*pe ( as in, rory was involved with an older man while she was a minor, and that's the extent of it that will every be in writing), domestic abuse, murder, violence.
this is a therapeutic writing space for me. rory is a very flawed character and i do think i project some of my own flaws on her. i won’t tolerate anyone trying to police what i write. this is a sideblog that you can block or filter out at your own will. i won’t force rory on anyone and i expect the same curtesy extended to me.
i don’t know if i will remake rory’s icons. ( kinda maybe working on icons now ? who knows ) for now she’s either iconless or uses medium sized gifs.
basic rp etiquette applies. be good people, please. i’m tired.
the rest of my rules can be found on lara's carrd.
basic biography:
born june 10th, rory’s mother leaves her at the age of one with her father, who struck by grief of abandonment, starts drinking herself into becoming an absent, neglectful parent. at age 10, rory trips and falls into broken glass at her home, gets noticed by one of her school teachers, and gets taken into foster care.
she spends a couple of years hopeful of her father’s return. he doesn’t, and so rory turns to teenage, angst rebellion as a comfort. she starts causing trouble in foster homes so much that she no longer gets taken in by the good ones who deem her too problematic.
she ends up in a group home from ages 12-15, and back in a foster home by a couple who were only interested in cashing in checks for foster care. rory runs away from their home and is never reported missing.
rory meets an older man in a decrepit bar, and when he takes interest in her, for the first she feels wanted. she misconstrues his approach and abuses for love. this relationship is very defining for the way rory seeks validation and sees her her own self worth.
alex is a drug dealer, and so rory gets into his criminal world. rory also turns to substance abuse as a coping mechanism. she’s used alcohol, psychelics, and opioid narcotics. she gets arrested while hiding in one of his stash houses, and becomes an informant for the police to help turn him in reluctantly. at age 17, when rory is taken into a safehouse while alex is arrested, he evades the cops long enough to find her. she nearly dies at his hands.
rory is comatose for a week in the hospital. her chances of survival are nonexistent. but somehow she recovers, and wakes up a week later. this incident marks the first manifestation of rory’s powers.
rory baristas for a very long time while volunteering at women shelters and soup kitchens. three years later, alex finds her and ambushes her in her apartment, another attempt at revenge. rory’s powers manifest in full, revealing themselves to rory who was not aware they even existed, and she winds up killing alex.
horrified, rory covers up the murder to the best of her ability, and tries to move on with her life. soon, she begins to realize she can use her powers to heal people. desperate to rectify deadly potential of her powers, rory studies to become a nurse.
rory now keeps her powers hidden, working as a nurse, while using them to heal those who were hurt. rory also continues to have a substance abuse problem mainly with alcohol, though she doesn’t use other drugs anymore ( cannabis on occasion, during slippery slopes and dark times ) though doesn’t admit to it being an addict. she excuses herself by attending the occasional addicts anonymous meeting, telling herself she only does it to know the warning signs and stop herself from becoming an addict. her powers have gotten the attention of some, though friend or foe ... she doesn’t know.
verses:
rory’s main verse: a nurse who keeps her powers a secret except from select few, being hunted by those who want to use her powers for their own gain, and those who want to snuff out those like her.
rory’s villain verse [ ultraviolence ] : instead of becoming revolted by what she caused, rory embraces it, and instead builds her own name as the villain deity. she continues to build her own little network, taking down drug dealers, predators, and traffickers all the while fronting her own dealings with a small coffee shop in a building she owns. the building is actually a shelter for runaway kids and battered individuals. don’t be fooled by her benevolent front, she’ll kill anyone who stands in her way.
mass effect verse: rory is an L2 biotic, a cerberus experiment turned eclipse mercenary. she gets scouted by commander shepard during the fight against the collectors.
and other various aus - rory can be adapted into resident evil, marvel, dc, you name it, she's there.
