It’s cuter when you recognize that the lion with visible spots is a juvenile. There’s a very high chance the other lion that runs over to investigate is the MOTHER.

The first lion is asking for comfort because she was given a big spook!!! and she needs mommy to tell her it’s safe and ok!!!! (What’s cuter is that mommy clearly reassures her, and goes on to take the parent role of ‘deal with the scream rat in order to protect my large and easily frightened daughter’)

So I’m in college and really wanted a fish for my dorm. I went to a really sketchy pet store and picked out a super small female betta who I named Lady:

This is her the first day I got her: pale, sickly, lethargic, and so tiny she couldn’t eat pellets without me breaking them up for her. I honestly didn’t think she was gonna make it..

This is her after 3 WEEKS of me having her and taking the time to heal her. Lady got BIG. She now can eat full size pellets, dried shrimp, and blood worms. She is super feisty and energetic and has already outgrown her tank (I know it’s too small but I’m getting her a 5 gallon one this weekend and it’s gonna be fucking awesome I’m so excited) I literally love this little girl more than anything and I just wanted to show how a little love and care can completely change a small sickly little fish’s life.

Lady update: Lady is healing from ich but her medicine has been super effective and it’s nearly gone! Here’s the updated tank! I opted for a 3 gallon one which is more than comfortable for her. It’s definitely a work in progress but I want to have more plants in it so she can hide and just have a good time.
