     “ ... huh. ” Never mind; it seems as though order has been restored.

     Oh? It looks like Zidane’s actually making Kuja look like a fool for once. How incredibly strange. There must be something wrong with the two of them.

"Wowww! You and Kuja never cut me any slack." he laughed and turned about to produce a large satchel of the things she'd asked him to retrieve. "I figured you wanna keep it on the downlow so I didn't ask for help. But I do like a challenge, ya know."

    “Judging from experience, your type is the type that would ‘slack’ if given the chance.” Unlike the duo who have found other passions in life, Zidane was more ... lax in her opinion. She could easily see him lying on the grasses outside one moment and then rushing to defeat a monster the next. 

     She took the bundle from him, setting it down on the table, so she could get a proper look at everything. It was just as he had said. Despite the level of difficulty of her ‘grocery list,’ he had managed to obtain everything he needed.

     “But, you are correct in your assumption. This is a project I had no intentions on sharing with anyone until I am finished.”

"What if I told you I had all your stuff ahead of schedule?"

    “I would say you had help.” She replied without missing a beat. “Am I to assume you have everything now?”

Zidane seems pleased to receive the list. None of it appeared to be all that difficult to collect, though some required delving into rather remote locations. "Looks like I'm in for some fun. Might take a few days but I'll nab as much as I can." he assured Mikoto with a smile. "See you soon lil' sis!"

    “That is to be expected.” If they were easy to obtain, she would have already procured them. How handy that the middle angel was the best at fetching these things for the other two siblings. “Take care.” 

    ... although, now she was a tad curious as to what Kuja was working on.

"Hey Mikoto. You know I kind of like helping Kuja out with his magic potions. He sent me out the other day to collect supplies from a few Mist monsters. Do you have things you need to collect for your experiments or whatever? Maybe I can help you as well."

     “ Hm… I do have a few things I need that I haven’t been able to get to lately. ” 

     She produced a piece of paper, jotting down several items and where it is said to find them. More notably, they’re from rather dangerous creatures, but since it was Zidane, and he was already doing things for Kuja — it wouldn’t be too farfetched for them to be along the same lines of difficulty, if not something he would find along the way.

   “ Here. ”

     ... pleasantly sips this carbonated, sugary concoction.

“It means even if I don’t know what you’re doing, it’d be fine because I’d get to stick around.” he explained. Granted, he knew it was probably a really strange concept for a Genome. From what he gathered, they rarely if ever engaged in any activity that held no purpose.

“Which reminds me… if Kuja comes whining to you about me living in his mansion, just ignore him. He’s dramatic.”

     ‘ What a waste of time. There’s plenty of things out there that can be and should be done. ’ Nope. She doesn’t get it one bit, but she supposed if he were to pick up anything from her (not the other way around, there was little to be gained that way) it would be beneficial for him to ‘stick around.’ 

     ‘ As for Kuja, both of you are dramatic. There’s no change even if you hadn’t decided to live there. ’

      Really, did the scholars not have anything better to do with their centuries worth of experience?

      He eyed the fizzing concoction as though it were about to lunge out of the straw and choke him. “It doesn’t sound good…”

     ‘ admittedly, it does give off a bad impression. the sounds it gives off are not normal, but it gives off a pleasant mouth feel. ’

she holds it towards him more so than before, determined to have him try it, straw or not.

“Aw, it’s a shame you take more after Kuja than me.”

Now Kuja actually tried to avoid Zidane . But her delivery was so good that Zidane was nervous that Mikoto was being serious. Humor done right, as far as comedy is concerned.

“You’re probably right about that, it’s usually over my head… but you know, it’s not always about whether or not I’d enjoy the thing, it’s about spending time with you, Mikoto.” he explained with an energetic swing of his tail.

“You’re fifty years too soon for me to take after anyone here.”

She stares at him closely, turning towards the quick paced wag of his tail. He ... seemed alright, all things considered. The tone of his words don’t quite match his expressions.

“ ... What is that supposed to mean?”

Zidane spots his straight-faced little sister and immediately makes his approach!

“Mikoto! You’re back!” he greets her happily, bounding to her side. “What have you been up to? I hardly ever see you.”

“That’s because I’ve been purposefully avoiding you.”

No. Not really. She’s learning to pick up some jokes, knowing just how well he tends to take remarks like that.

“I’ve been keeping myself occupied with various things you wouldn’t be interested in. It seems like you haven’t changed.”

Gracious, what is she drinking!? That liquid is so acidic that it is bubbling! Her immunity to toxic substances is beyond his comprehension!

     She stops, just long enough to pull away the drink, letting the straw dangle towards the other end, his direction. It’s an unsaid offer, really. ‘ The scholars in the daguerreo devised this strange, ‘health’ drink. ’ It’s not really healthy though. It’s not healthy at all, actually. 

     ‘ It’s good. ’ It bubbles noisily in his direction, popping and splattering like little vats of tar.
