Can I rant for a moment?

I love fanart! Most of what I follow here is fanart! If I had any skill at drawing I would make fanart but I don’t so I use my words and make fanfic.

I have had someone make fan art for my stories around six times now. I have them saved I love all of them, from the collages about my Flash story to the traditional art for my Jen 10 and Dispatch stories. I always reblog when someone likes what I do enough to pour their time and heart into it. It’s an honor.

I don’t like AI. It’s theft from every artist the parasite you’re using was trained on. It’s wrecking the environment faster than the human race has in a long ass time.

I don’t like when someone says I have made fanart of your story and it’s clearly AI.

I don’t like it when they send me more examples of their ‘art’ and demand I commission them to do more for me.

I don’t know what you get out of it as an AI grifter. I literally can’t afford to commission the artists I already follow and when that bright shining day comes that I can you bet that commission is going to someone I know does not. touch. AI.

I’ve had to block like 12 accounts in the last four months and I’m sick of it.

Proposal: She takes her car to a mechanic and it's beat for beat like the original movie scene at the dress shop, where the mechanic *tries* to rip her off and she nods along and then eviscerates her with precise technical details.

The rest of Elle's class now shun that mechanics' shop and tell everyone else to as well, so that place ends up going out of businesss, which allows someone else in the class to open up a sparkling pink and perfectly trustworthy shop of his own.

Court case equivalent is the final Mastery Exam where Elle realizes that the instructor has been failing women (and likely others) on purpose and asks an ‘innocent’ question in the same line as ‘have you ever had a perm before’ but it would vary depending on the trade outing the instructor for bigotry in front of the inspector/supervisor/board equivalent. Instructor is placed under investigation and fired and Elle starts an all women repair company that offers reduced prices to people in a bad spot.

She proposes to her butch girlfriend at the opening. There’s not a dry eye in the house.

I was reminded about the alternate universe Garashir we got in Lower Decks. We know they’re not from the same universe either (if I remember right someone says they brag about how unlikely it was they found each other). So what do we think happened to that Garak’s actual Bashir?

Like do we think he died during the dominion war and Garak went into not only starfleet but medicine to honor him? Do we think that Garak went into starfleet to get away from his father and the obsidian order? What do we think that Garak went through ?

Follow up to my own thought but that Bashir is an EMH. Main universe Julian was rejected from that program when he was revealed as an augment.

That means one of a few things.

1) The events of Dr. Bashir I Presume didn’t happen so he was never outed as an Augment. Either because a) Julian’s parents had the brain cells not to come to DS9 and Julian was selected for the EMH program without issue. Or b) Julian’s parents were smart enough not to talk about the augments on DS9 and never outed him.

2) Augments aren’t illegal in EMH Bashir’s universe. This one’s unlikely but one of the only options that makes sense.

3) Julian had been slated to be the next EMH before being taken by the Dominion. But in the EMH Bashir’s universe he didn’t make it back, sacrificing himself so the others could escape and was chosen to be the new EMH to honor him.

Or 4) EMH Bashir is a prototype who got stolen and subsequently accidentally ended up in shenanigans landing him on the ship with AU Garak.

In all but scenario 2 EMH Bashir probably wouldn’t know the man he was modeled after was an augment because Data and Zimmerman didn’t know.

These are the thoughts I have out of the blue…

As such I vote that we let ourselves enjoy things! As long as no one’s getting hurt let yourself have your hobbies within your reason and your means. Found that beanie baby you always regretted tossing when you turned 13 and were told they weren’t cool anymore? Why not let yourself have that little joy? As long as you can afford it and still pay your bills what is that hurting?

On the subject of my fem garashir doll project. I have decided to do dolls from different lines for each individual.

I am using an Asha doll from Disneys Wish as Fem Julian (aka Juliet) I wanted Elana of Avalor but couldn’t find one for a reasonable price. Garak was trickier as we all agree that Garak is a little on the heavier side and I hc Cardassians have tails. So I ended up settling on G3 Catty Noir for fem Garak (still referred to as Garak since it’s her last name but her first name for the record will be Elia). She’s gonna require prosthetics and a full repaint and reroot but hey in for a penny I guess.

I am hoping this will help highlight the whole alien thing. The clothes do have me a bit stumped.

Barbie made a special edition doll for the OG series and a 50th special of the Chris pine movies but never anything for TNG. I may end up having to pattern something and that scares me.
