Here’s my arcana OC Wren that I’ve been wanting to share with y’all

I’ve been thinking and working on this character for a year now but didn’t talk about him until now because I wasn’t fully confident to post about him since I kept changing his character design and story. So here he is! He mostly a side character and a very close friend to Valarie because he keeps her company sometimes when Asra leaves her at the shop while going on a journey. Also he isn’t a oc to romance with the main love interests but for y’all to interact with your ocs~ (although he does find Muriel, Portia and Nadia attractive. He also can be a flirt btw) 💞

For a fandom so intrinsically based and founded in art, there's an absolutely abhorrent lack of worth granted to fanart, and therefore fanartists, within this fandom unless they can perfectly replicate the styles found in the source material --be that in the visuals OR the writing style-- FOR THE MOST PART ( or what's worse, is content only getting attention if it garners to some of the more harmful interpretations of the cast ).

Allow me to note that there's nothing wrong with being able to replicate the source, and if you've found success through that, then I'm happy for you because you, and the fruits of your labor, do deserve every sliver of love and appreciation you get!

The problem here seems to be entitlement. A willingness to consume and consume without ever giving back. No one is demanding donations, threatening that they'll no longer produce content if you don't pay ( not that there's anything wrong with that. The time and effort of an artist is something that is deserving of payment ), most people on here just want /reblogs/.

A single click. On mobile, you can hold down on the reblog button, and I'm sure most of us use mobile. Literally nothing is stopping you from just supporting someone, making them feel like it's all worth it ...and you can do this with just ONE little click. But most of you don't, and you may even resort to calling a discouraged artist an attention seeker, a narcissist, or worse when they resign or think out loud about resigning ( *stares at my inbox pointedly* ), because of the lack of support they get.

I don't know how to end this. Stop just liking things, Reblog them so others can see them and so an artist can feel like they're on the right path with their damn craft. Like they didn't waste 1, 2, 4, 8 hours on something that ultimately only gets 30 notes, 2 of which are reblogs...on a good day. Support artists, including writers. Support beginners, support professionals. Spread love and encouragement. Not this passive acknowledgement before moving on, because that's virtually what likes are.
