( my human memories were already fading into the background , leaving sharp vampire memories. I figured this new memory would come in handy when I began my formal studies, helping me to progress faster. I already had figured out that I did not age. I would forever remain 23 years old; not a bad age to remain but still a young age to be considered seriously. Simon indeed followed,keeping the male’s pace rather easily as they walked. “Well. The Accords are a world wide thing.” he explained, “it’s law set in heavily populated areas that may attract a large quantity of downworlders. The Clave are a sort of government for the shadow world. They’re ran by shadowhunters, sort of like…the shadow world police but…more violent. They’re half mundane half angel beings with abilities beyond a normal mundane.” he continued to explain, still bewildered at a vampire who wasn’t familier with neither the clave or the accords.  They walked for sometime, Simon trying to explain as much as he could with the limitations of his own knowledge. After all he was a fledgling and only knew as much as Clary and Raphael were able or willing to tell him. Once the blonde male had stopped, Simon would slowly look up at the house, his lips slowly parting, becoming a gape. “house.” he breathed, slowly arching a brow “right.” These ancient vampires and their houses. Camille with her penthouses, Raphael with his Hotel, Magnus with his life of luxury although he wasn’t a vampire. Must be an ancient thing.

“ From where I’m from, there are no such thing. My kind are run on a different system. It’s a small town, not big like New York or many other states and cities out there. Half angel? My, my, that sounds very interesting. I’ve never met anything like that in my four-hundred years... ”

( He was talking to himself, or rather, thinking out loud. It was such a humanly habit of his. All the while as Simon spoke, there were times where Carlisle showed a bright interest, it was practically written all over his face. He was truly fascinated by all this information that he never knew about. When they had came upon the house; a very modern house. The trees here hid the sunlight pretty well. ) 

            “ My apologies if it doesn’t fit your standards, it’s a temporary house for now. ”

( His yellow-gold gaze flit towards movement, that which the human eye couldn’t see, there appeared Jacob and Bella along with his granddaughter who flashed a brilliant smile. Though, Jacob didn’t let her run over to Carlisle mainly because of the newcomer at his side. Carlisle held up a hand before speaking : ) 

“ Bella, Jacob, he is not an enemy. It’s safe so please, be courteous to him. That goes for you, Jacob. I know Bella, Edward, and Renesmee have manners. ” ( He saw Bella, the newly made of their coven, give a dazzling grin before heading inside with his granddaughter. Jacob stood there, head looking towards the forest before making his way inside as well. ) 

“ Apologies, Simon. Edward will be with us shortly as well. Have you fed yet? If not, would you care to come hunt with me? Not human, of course. ”

              ——— “I’M SORRY —” clary said to him as she sat upon the steel table. it wasn’t often that she forgot her stele, but today she did. the option to use the iratze was now out of the question and with the bruising at the rib section, clary felt as though she would die from the immense pain. “i would have been more careful, but emmett provoked me to do it.” it was a stupid dare and clary decided to prove emmett wrong.

( A grin made itself known on his pale face, gold-yellow eyes not leaving her bruise. He ran his fingers along the bruise, feather-light as his blond brows furrowed. No broken ribs, thank god. She was going to have to wrap it and place ice on it for the swelling to go down. ) 

“ I should be the one apologizing, Miss Fray. Emmett...he does’t know the phase hold back. He’s the sort of wild card in my family. I’ll have a talk with him. Now, as for your injury here, there are no broken ribs, but you will need to wrap it and ice it for the swelling to go down, alright? No extracurricular activities for two weeks at most. ”

“ i’m not here for.. “ waving his arms, he motions all around the room not sure what to call this, mundanes had such weird names for everything. in his world, they informed the silent brothers if they were coming but this doctor in the mundane world was different. alec didn’t like to be out in the world full of humans who had no idea what he was but he did it because he had to. “ ..whatever. “

( A blond brow arched, amusement sparking in his eyes as it showed on the grin that now spread across his pale features. This young man was interesting to say the least. The Doctor nodded, and set down his clipboard, clasping his hands in front of him in a humane gesture. )

“ Very well. What can I help you with, young man? Have I done something displeasing to your kind? ”

( A concerned look flashed across his face; concern for his family. They were very cautious around new places they moved to. They stayed away from other species as much as they could. The Doctor caught a whiff of the young man’s scent, eyes sparked. What an interesting aroma, but not so much that he’d lose control, oh no. Carlisle had the very best self-control around any blood. This blood smelled...very sweet, alluring mixed with a normal human. How very odd. Very interesting. )

i raised all you hellions better than this. The neighbors are watching---Please do not cause a commotion. I don’t care about arm wrestling, but ripping out a tree from the roots up is just ludicrous, and jibing Emmett is the worst. Can’t you all understand that...WE ARE NOT HUMAN?! I’M NOT TRYING TO HAVE THE VOLTURI COME BACK ONTO OUR LAND BECAUSE OF YOUR PETTY FIGHTING, BOYS ( hands out new son applications.) ( apply at the hospital please. At least I have my sanity there )

“You don’t know about the accords?” Simon seemed a bit surprised and yet confused. Not only was this Vampire different the other’s he’d met, he also had no knowledge of the accords. “The law that The Clave put in place to ensure downworlders could more easily coexist with the mundanes. Vampires only allowed to feed on animal blood.” he explained briefly before his eyes followed down toward the offered hand. “um. Simon Lewis.” he replied in return before shaking the other’s hand.  The offer to join the other was a bit sudden and if it weren’t for the odd air of honesty around this Carlisle he probably wouldn’t have trusted it. With a small nod he’d allow his hands to return to his side “sure. Is it far? Lead the way.” he lightly gestured, god knows he’d be able to keep up.

( Yellow eyes sparked, more intrigued than he was before. He’d never heard of this Clave, but it sounded as if they very powerful. Like the Volturi. He respected other’s laws as he did his own kind. Shaking his hand, Carlisle kindly grinned. ) “ It’s a pleasure to meet you, Simon. You may need to tell me more of what goes on in this City. It’s been quite a long while since I’ve been back here. ”

( He pulled his hand away from Simon, casually stuffing it inside his jacket pockets. He began at a walk, knowing that Simon would most likely follow behind. ) “ I wouldn’t say far, but enough away from humans. You see, my family is cautious around new parts and they visit often. My son and his wife are here for a few days so I can see my granddaughter. ” ( Carlisle was comfortable with walking since it took on less suspicion from the humans and the house was only thirty minutes away. What he called a house usually was more on the mansion type side. )

Simon paused, quickly glancing toward the sound of the familier voice. When realizing it was the same person from the night before he couldn’t help but shift awkwardly. “It’s against the accords to feed off of mundanes” he retorted rather simply in response to having not harmed the girl, not that he would have anyway. Simon folded his arms tight across his chest, eyes locked on the older male. He hadn’t necessarily thought of anything to ask, only that he’d returned to the spot for some unknown reason other then to see what had happened afterward. 

“who are you?” he’d start there for now. “you seem different then the other vampires around here and you had so much self control around the blood…” it was odd. Raphael was really good at controlling his urges around blood too, but nothing like this person, he hardly even batted an eyelash at the blood.

( Interest sparked in his yellow eyes. Accords? He wasn’t familiar with the term, but was eager to learn more about them. The last time he’d been in New York, he’d never heard of such a thing. How times have changed. This boy seemed so young and looked as if a chip were on his shoulder; such were the small things Carlisle noticed about people but didn’t touch on them unless the other wanted to talk about what was bothering them. It wasn’t his business. ) 

“ I see. I don’t have knowledge of these Accors so maybe you can explain them further to me? ”

( His curiosity was genuine. There was so much he didn’t know about when coming back to this city that never sleeps. Offering his pale, ice-cold hand for the other to shake, he grinned, ) “ I am Carlisle Cullen. Believe me, my self control isn’t so special. Years and years of practice is all. ” ( Such modesty, the most humble and humane vampire anyone could come across. Feeling albeit uncomfortable in this area, blond brows furrowed as he then asked : ) “ Would you mind accompanying me back to my home? I’m sure it would be much safer there to answer any other questions you might have. ”

Simon’s dark brown eyes quickly moved to the male as he knelt beside him. He hesitated, quickly glancing between the mundane and the other vampire, his trembling hands slowly lifting up off the wound. He quickly stood, with vampiric speed he moved back several feet. He watched the scene before him in grate hesitation before finally leaving. Simon had found himself somewhere isolated, fighting the urges and slowly getting control over himself. Once getting his senses back he’d quickly wash his hands of the blood and return to the Hotel Durmort.  Simon will have spent the rest of that night and day in his room, all the while wondering if the mundane had made it alright. Curiously he’ll have returned to the spot where he’d left the strange vampire and the girl. Scuffing his shoe against where the blood had stained the asphalt he’d fold his arms uncomfortably. When realizing no one was around he’d just turn to head back.

“ Don’t worry child. You will be absolutely fine. Listen to my voice and stay awake for me, alright? That’s good. You’re doing a fine job. ” 

( Such a soothing tone for a vampire. A serene, gentle smile graced the pale one’s face. Gold-yellow eyes flickered up towards the approaching medics. Getting up as well, he told them that he worked in the NYC hospital and that he saw this bloodied girl as he was walking home. He tended to her most fatal injuries and that they should take care of the rest. After the girl was taken away, Carlisle did a patrol around the area, very cautious and wary of the other more different kind of vampire out there. What scent they did leave had been gone. Keeping his promise, the Doctor had returned to the spot where he’d seen the newborn boy. ) 

“ My apologies if I gave you a fright. Thank you for not harming the girl. I assume you have questions for me, am I right? ”

The feeling of being embraced…it had been a while since he felt such a thing. Both father and mother had died on their death bed three days ago from the Influenza. Of course this new life wasn’t going to be so easy to get used to. This embrace…it was as if Carlisle were afraid to lose him. Edward felt and thought the same as he hugged his father. Not even his eyes watered anymore. 

After a few moments of letting out such bottled feelings, Edward glanced up as the blond took a step back. What he saw was not disappointment, not even anger. He saw a man who understood, he saw someone just like him. He had first heard Carlisle thoughts as he lay upon his death bed; he had thought he was hearing an angel’s voice. What a mere misconception to one like him, but Carlisle? He did not seemed like someone who was damned from the beginning. There were things Edward still didn’t know about him, things he was utterly curious about, but dare not pry into his mind unless given permission by him. 

The young man nodded in understanding. Focus only on Carlisle voice, on what thoughts Carlisle wanted him to hear. It was so hard to even concentrate with the scorching, white-hot burning in his throat. Edward winced. 

  ❛ I can’t concentrate…at least not right now. Please, show me how you hunt,      Carlisle. I don’t want to attack another human. ❜

( Saving Edward had been the right thing, yes, but seeing him go through such pain during the change was excruciating to watch. Carlisle was no saint nor angel, he was just a man who wanted to do the right thing. He knew wrong from right sometimes. He was confident in Edward’s ability at self-control. Concern washing over the blond’s face, he set a hand on his son’s shoulder with a nod.) 

“ Bare with it, please Edward. I understand. Go to the forest, fill yourself with animal blood. I’ll show you how it’s done so watch closely. Though, I am not the best tracker there is. Follow me. ”

( Within a blink of an eye, he was gone, running through the forest away from the human’s scent that he easily paid no mind to. He knew Edward would follow. The boy was sincere with his words. Yes. Carlisle had made the right decision. Edward was his pride and joy. )

( He had smelled it, human blood. A major artery had been broken in the human. He didn’t have time to think the how’s and whys, he just did what he did best. Helped them. It was in a sudden appearance he had made, this boy was the only one who could help and he had the feeling this one did not feed from the human girl. Kneeling down after getting what he needed, Carlisle set a hand on the young man’s shoulder, gentle smile touching his pale lips as gold-yellow eyes stared down at the human. )

“ Thank you for doing your best. Leave now before you can’t control yourself. Please, I will tend to her do not worry. There are some animals nearby you can feed on. The bandages will be enough to stop the flow until the ambulance arrives. Come talk to me later if you have any questions. I will answer them to the best of my abilities. ”

Elizabeth’s words echoed in my head. How could she guess what I could do? Could anyone really want that for her son? I looked at Edward. Sick as he was, he was still beautiful. There was something pure and good about his face. The kind of face I would have wanted my son to have.

Odd that one of his kind remembered something vividly, it was rare.)
