So I just rewatched HH for the second time and I want to ramble a bit about my favorite character: Cash!!!

Even apart from the gay ace rep, Cash is such a unique character. As the designated "bad boy" of the show, I really didn’t pay him no attention at all at the beginning, thinking he’d be a full stereotype: either the homophobic gay dealer or the asocial loner who can’t connect to people. His appearance led me to believe he’d be the typical repressed tough guy who can’t express his emotions and be soft because of toxic masculinity, and I thought at first glance that his arc would be to learn how to do that… Boy was I wrong. He’s the sweetest EVER.

His character feels so human. So multifaceted. Funny, sarcastic, tender, awkward, vulnerable, hurt, lost, he does it all without once being unbelievable as a character. Every time he was on screen in a new situation, I felt surprised cause I had not at all predicted in which direction it would go. For example, when Darren brought the bag back to him, I expected him to be angry ??? He wasn’t !!! Or when he and Darren got close, I thought he’d be super closed off and guarded about his romantic orientation, but instead he was obviously flirting with Darren and he took the lead to kiss them!!!!

So I found myself extremely drawn to him because of how easily my expectations based on his appearance and demeanour were turned down, and how surprising he was every step of the way. He’s sweet from the start, comfortable in his sexuality, knows what’s good and what isn’t, is super goofy and nervous when it comes to love, but also takes the lead and flirts when he wants to, is caring and dedicated to those he loves, and he knows how to express his emotions and needs!!!! I just- I love him.

Im so excited to live in an era where men in fiction and especially in teen dramas are beginning to be depicted outside of the restraints of toxic masculinity. I expected him to be one way because of the dozens of characters looking and acting like him in the past who did. But characters in Heartbreak High are more than just tropes and cliches and I love that. I hope to see more characters like him in the future. Props to William McDonald who did an amazing job and to the whole cast

maybe if you’re upset about the waterparks x atl show announcement you should think of these three things:

1) it’s a radio station hosted festival. for promotion. for new material. 99.9% of the time the openers/artists have no clue who is appearing on the show when they agree to the show. this isn’t a normal show where all parties are aware of bands playing.

2) this false narrative awsten has painted for you all that bands have complete control over bands they play with is exhausting. you do not know everything about the music industry based on secondhand information coming from someone who routinely leaves record labels when he doesn’t get his way.

3) perhaps you should take this criticism further and examine the people waterparks still actively work with and their behaviors. and who those people are still working with. i.e madden bros, jawn rocha, blackbear who is buddy buddy with atl, fueled by ramen by association, and zakk cervini who has literally produced for atl

What I want to happen on season 18 of SVU:

In season 1, a psychiatrist came in to evaluate the squad, to see if any of them were close to having a mental breakdown (Det. Jefferies). They do that this season, since the squad recently lost one of their own (Dodds), they’re short-staffed, and there’s two single (new) mothers.  

We get to see each squad members’ session. Amanda is struggling with her sister and being a new mom. Carisi is struggling with his near-death experience, and with his sexuality (him being Catholic). Fin is struggling with being the only detective without a ‘life’, since his son’s surrogate had a miscarriage. Liv’s we don’t see. 

The psychiatrist says that there is someone that needs to take time off until a psychiatrist says they are ready to go back. Amanda and Sonny panic. Fin doesn’t show his panic. The three of them sit in the break room, and try to figure out who’s getting kicked out. They end up telling each other what they talked about in their sessions. They support and validate each other.  

Which squad member is the one getting forced time off? Benson. Because she has developed an alcohol dependency and still has PTSD, and can’t seem to form a boundary between work and home life. The squad is shocked. Declan Murphy takes Benson’s place. There’s a showdown being Murphy and Carisi, Carisi is pissed at Declan for pistol-whipping him. Murphy is pissed because he knows more about Jesse. Barba gets his spine back and doesn’t take every single case to court. He goes back to teasing Carisi. 

Mike Dodds comes back from the dead. The guy they thought was Mike Dodds was a UC, because Dodds was doing some secret anti-terrorism thing. Nick Amaro moves back to NYC because California ran out of water. 

NBC should just hire me. (Should I write the fanfic???)
