[♥] “Leave me alone already!” Nagisa was genuinely getting tired of his sisters’ activities. Sure, they were entertaining back when they were kids but Nagisa was already near his legal age! This ‘let’s-dress-our-little-brother-up’ nonsense really needed to be put to a stop once and for all! Nagisa’s attempt to talk himself out of the activity was unfortunately futile though. No matter what he did or said, his sisters would just always give him the same response:

"But you’re just too adorable!"

Nagisa knew getting himself out of this predicament was far from being possible. Just a few minutes ago, right when he was just stepping out of a store with his friends, his three sisters immediately emerged in view and displayed to him a sickeningly endearing bunny dress with matching ears and tail. He only considered himself lucky that he managed to hastily leave the scene but much to his dismay, the girls chased after him.

It wasn’t easy trying to get rid of them in the crowd. It was almost as if they could interpret their little brother’s next move. Just as he was about to turn around a corner, the blond found himself nearly bumping into someone that he had to put an abrupt halt to his steps.

"Y-You—!" He uttered in genuine astonishment before his focus instantly concentrated back on his current predicament. "Ah! You’re that girl that went totally cray-cray on me, right? Do you think you have enough strength to beat three girls? You look like you can do some butt whooping!" Not even giving the girl a chance to respond, Nagisa hastily rushed behind her and settled his hands on her shoulders as though hiding from something evil. "Can you be my temporary bodyguard…?!"

Asuna simply stared at the boy - shock clearly displayed on her face. She had been looking for him for so long (which was only a little more than three weeks), and then he just appears before out of no where? For a short moment, all she could do was simply stand there; trying to wrap her head around the sense of humor Fate apparently had.

And then, the reason for her desire to see him returned to her.

This was the perfect chance to apologize!

"U-uhm -- hey, I --"

Asuna didn't get very far before the boy's strange antics cut her off. One moment he was standing in front of her, and then when she had blinked he was cowering behind her; using her body as some sort of shield against a great evil. However, that wasn't what had truly stopped her train of thought.

Did he just call her cray-cray?

And then ask her to be his bodyguard?

No, more than that, did he just tell her to beat up three girls!?

"Oi! You! What the hell do you think --!"

And then the assumed assailants came into view; parading around a sickening bunny dress with matching ear and tail accessories. The young woman deadpanned; completely lost on how to respond to such a scene. A dark glower was thrown over her should to the boy, and she was half tempted to simply leave him there to fend for himself. No way did she want to get involved in whatever weird situation this was!

... but, she really wanted to apologize for before, and felt like she owned him something. If being his knight in shining armor was her way to atone for her what she had done, then so be it. But there was no possible way she could go and beat up three girls on her own!

"Pst --" in a hushed whisper only he could hear, she continued, "-- what's your name?"

[♚] It took a long moment for Togami to respond to the voice that emerged nearby as he tried to focus his stare down at the ground— the sight of snow making him more nauseous than ever. He couldn’t even properly process in his mind the fact that someone was showing concern over him. Delicate gloved fingers reached up to brush the fringes away from his eyes as he finally averted his cerulean hues up to face the stranger.

'I'm fine. Mind your own business.'

He was astonished by how those words didn’t slip out from his lips. Instead of properly responding to the girl’s question, the heir found himself dropping his borrowed books and heavily falling down to his knees— his free hand sliding down the wall with him. He mentally cursed himself for looking so weak; especially in front of some stranger. I am Byakuya Togami. He wasn’t supposed to be in this kind of predicament. I am Byakuya Togami. Going out in this state of his wasn’t the wisest thing to do at all.

Weak and humiliated, Togami forced himself not to look at the girl as he reached for his books again. He didn’t need help from the likes of her. He was strong enough to take care of himself— with fever or not. He wasn’t a needy child. He never was and never will.

But by the time his hand neared one of his books, his sight just grew hazier and it took him a while to realize that he was about to fully lose his balance.

"H-hey --!"

This was bad. Really, really bad. Suddenly, Asuna wished with an overwhelming passion that she could become a healer like in one of her games and simply cast Cure on him until his eyes stopped rolling to the back of his head; because, really, the young woman knew next to nothing about medical aid. Not knowing what to do, and getting the feeling the male didn't particularly want her help to begin with, she simply stood there and watched with concerned hazel optics as he fell heavily to his knees.

"Perhaps I should call an ambulance? No, wait, I need to get him inside first!"

That wouldn't be too hard, she reasoned. The St. Orwell Apartments weren't much further, and she could easily help him up to the second floor landing if need be. It was kind of strange, though, planning to take a stranger into her home ... but really, what other choice did she have? The poor guy couldn't even speak it looked like! And then, he started teetering; swaying in such a precarious manner that a sense of dread began to swell deep in her abdomen.

"T-take it easy." In an attempt to steady him, she fell to her knees at his side and laid a firm hand on his shoulder. The cool flesh of her fingers brushed against his exposed neck as she tried to keep him from toppling over, automatically flinching back when his skin all but burned her.

"You have a fever? What the hell are you doing out here!? Come on, let's get you inside. My apartment is just a bit further; you can rest there for a while."

Gathering up the books, which she had noticed laying half buried in the snow, she balanced them in the crook of her left arm as her right moved to sling his arm over her shoulder. After making sure the limb wouldn't fall from its place around her, she wrapped her free arm around his waist and pushed herself to her feet - hopefully bringing the boy up with her.

Ever since her fateful encounter with that blonde haired boy at the convenience store, her guilt seemed to have grown in force until it was but a plague tormenting her day and night. Often she walked past the scene of the horrific event (which, in her mind, was indeed horrific), hoping to catch him once more so that she could placate her consciousness by offering the most heartfelt apology she could muster.

Hazel optics gazed solemnly into the window of the convenience store, screening the faces of all those inside to see if her target appeared among them. Unfortunately for her, like all the past times she had come to do the same, he wasn't. The young woman heaved a heavy sigh as she turned to leave with the promise to return tomorrow. One of these days she was sure she'd catch him, and she wouldn't let him go until her emotional slate had been wiped clean!

"He was right thought," as her feet led her in the direction of home, the silence surrounding her began to make her feel uneasy. In an attempt to alleviate the sensation that something rather unpleasant was about to happen, she decided to speak aloud - if only to simply hear the sound of something other than the scuffs her feet made.

"Guilty Pleasure really is a good magazine. Hehe~ I've only received my third issue, and already I'm completely enthralled with it."

As she turned around a corner some blocks away from the convenience store, a rather loud cry abruptly jostled her attention back to her surroundings. Her head whipped back and forth as she tried to locate the source of the painful sound, trying to decide if this was one of those situations when the best course of action would be to call the local authorities. Before she could put much time into that thought, however, sensitive ears picked up the sound of running feet. Hazel eyes turned towards their direction, widening in surprise when she recognized who it was.

"Ah! You're --"

"Yes, right!" He furrowed his brows in deep thought. Where did they have their games usually...? He already forgot- no wait, their indoor gym, right? "We usually have our games at the school's indoor gym," he replied with a confident air. He hoped he was right.

"Oh, well..." To be honest, he had actually had all the universities that had offered him scholarships on a sheet of paper and closed his eyes, jabbing with a pencil on a random place. And it just happened to be St. Orwell. But that made him sound conceited or something.

"I just asked my teacher to choose for me~"

Close enough.

"Eh? Really? You guys don't go to a stadium or anything?"

That was odd, she mused, that they'd have all their games in a tiny little gym. Didn't most rent out stadiums to play in? Where more spectators could go and watch? Well, she didn't really know anything about it, so she wasn't going to question it much further.

"You asked your teacher to choose for you?"

Asuna blinked, completely flabbergasted. Hopefully he only meant he asked for his teachers recommendation, not for them to actually choose what school he went too.

"Isn't that a bit ... irresponsible?"

He flashed her a friendly grin as he jogged over to her position. "Yeah, it's just amazing~" he agreed heartily.

Eyeing the ball of snow she had made, he raised a playful eyebrow. "Are you making a snowman?" He inquired curiously, tilting his head to the side a bit.

As if to demonstrate, she takes a handful of the powdery ice in hand; watching with contempt as it all but topples back to earth a moment later.

"I should probably wait for it to get a bit harder before doing more."

Familiar Faces [Seijuro and Asuna]

That nickname. There was only two people who ever called him that. There was a member of his old high school basketball team that liked to call him that, and then there was… Asuna Yuuki. But why was she somewhere like here? If he had known correctly, he would’ve sworn that her father was overprotective of her and never let her do anything without his approval. The problem was, Akashi was pretty sure that her father never approved of anything.

"Asuna."

Luckily enough, he was good at hiding his emotions, and especially right now hiding his surprise. Asuna Yuuki, the only daughter of a family known for their technology company. Akashi knew that his father and her own always used to do business together, and had become rather closely acquainted. During his mother’s balls, they would always be invited, and Seijuro always found himself reluctantly spending time with the older girl when the adult speak became too much.

"It has been a while, has it not?"

The red head brushed his fringe out of his eyes and gave her a rather soft smile, something that was very rarely seen of him. To be completely honest, he was pretty sure that she was the only one who actually had the kindness to ask if he was willing to spend time with her, considering no one would come up to him when he somewhat hid behind his mother. Those memories felt so distant.

"How have you been? Have you been taking care of yourself?"

His voice was rather stern, but it still showed some signs of him being a little glad to see her. After all, he was still slightly trying to get his head around the fact that he had actually bumped into her. He had to admit quite reluctantly that she had become rather beautiful during the years they hadn’t spoke, although she was not the kind of girl he was interested in. She was more like… a sister to him. Yes, that was an accurate description.

"I almost didn’t even recognize you. You’ve grown considerably taller."

But alas, he was still taller than her, which made him feel a little better about his height for once. Of course, he was always the one to win, so even if he hadn’t beat her height wise, there were surely other things that he would have outdone her in. He still had the rather soft smile on his face as he spoke, although it was a rather reluctant smile. He had quite a few questions to ask her, but didn’t want to impose them all so quickly.

Ah! So it was him! Asuna knew that her eyes hadn't been lying to her; after all, how many people around the world actually had Seijuro's unique coloring? Heterochromatic optics were rare enough, but the boy also had that rare shade of red hair that the young woman couldn't help but admire. Actually, if she really gave it some thought, it was quite possible that the color of his hair was the reason Red was her favorite color in general. If she had been born with any other hair color, it had always been her secret wish that it would've turned out somewhat like the boy's before her.

"You're right. The last time we met up was just before I entered secondary. Sorry, to have lost touch so suddenly."

Her father's parties had never been a source of much pleasure for the girl. They were boring, complicated, and rarely ever had any good drinks someone her age could indulge in. The only thing that had kept her sane as the adults mingled well into the night, was him. Seijuro. At first, she didn't know what to make of him. He was quite, too quite for someone his age, and had a tendency to cower behind his mother. It took a great amount of coaxing from both women for him to finally go off with her on their 'mini-adventures', which really consisted of playing random games around the house, and even then he still held up his indifferent persona.

It hadn't been until they had interacted a good number of times did she finally get the boy to warm up with her - even if it was only by a little.

"Some days are better than others, but I'm enjoying myself here in Prava." She spared him a friendly smiled before continuing. "Of course! There's no need to worry about that."

Asuna studied him fondly. If she had been blessed with another brother, would he have been much like Seijuro, she wondered? The years seemed to have favored him; no long was he that scrawny little boy hiding behind his mother, but rather a handsome young man. His body had filled out nicely from what could make out from beneath his clothing. Perfectly chiseled muscles rose prominently along his arms and chest, and vaguely Asuna wondered what sport he had developed an interest in (because, surely, that was the only way to develop such muscles). His eyes had grown more narrow, and much sharper that his childhood days - and if Asuna didn't already think of the boy as something of a little brother, she probably would've swooned under their gaze.

"Hmph! Of course I have. You didn't think I would've remained that tiny forever, did you?"

Her words were obviously playful as she sent a mock-offended glare (which really lost its effect with the chipper smile still plastered to her face).

"The same could be said for you as well, Sei-chan. There was a time when I was a good bit taller than you."

Out in the Cold | [MULTI-OPEN]

[♚] The shade of crimson could be evidently seen coloring the heir’s cheeks as he weakly tried to make his way back to his apartment with two thick books clutched against his chest. He could already feel his gloved hands shivering from the sharp breeze of the snow but he tried his very best to ignore it, his lips slightly parted in attempt to take heavy ragged breaths. By then, he could feel his temperature rising and knew right in that moment that it wasn’t a wise decision for him to go out with a fever.

Togami hadn’t been feeling well since yesterday which unfortunately caused him to skip classes for the first time in a long time. But after discovering about how snow was starting to fall upon the city, the heir knew that he’ll be stuck in the apartment all day without a new book to read. He could have easily called his driver to drive him to the nearest bookstore but then he recalled that he had let the old man visit his family that lived a few hours away from the city— already taking the opportunity of the fact that Togami had a fever and won’t be needing his driving for a day or two.

Togami had left his apartment as quickly as possible in hope not to reach the moment where the snow outside will grow thicker and thicker.

Feeling his legs getting weaker, the tall blond let out a soft grunt as he leaned his shoulder against the bricked wall; nearly dropping the books he had in his arm. His vision was getting far too hazy for his liking and the thought of losing consciousness outside made his stomach twist more than it already was.

'Damn it…'

Frigid gusts of icy air ran its chilly fingers through Asuna's long hair, throwing the orange-brown locks out behind her like a billowing cape. Normally pale cheeks were dyed a glowing red as the harsh weather nipped at them relentlessly, freezing the nerves found there until the young woman couldn't even feel her face anymore. What an unpleasant day to be out, she thought, drawing her thick coat tighter around her. It had been so nice earlier! Who knew such a storm would blow in so suddenly?

As she trudged through the ice and snow, the only thing she found herself able to think about was the hot bubble bath she was jump straight into upon her return home. That and a warm glass of hot chocolate, accompanied by a blanket wrapped around her shoulders, would be like heaven after being subjugated to such wintery hazards. It wasn't until she was half way back to the apartment complex did she notice a silhouette leaning against the brick wall of a building. Squinting her eyes through the snow, she tried to discern who it was; but gave up only after a moment of trying, deeming it impossible thanks to the powdery flakes floating around her.

"I wonder if they're okay?"

Concern for the other caused her feet to move in their direction, and when she had gotten closer she realized that the person leaning heavily against the wall was a boy. Something was wrong with him though, that much Asuna was certain. The poor thing panted heavily as if his lungs were greatly taxed, and his gaze seemed weak and unfocused. Alarmed at his revealed condition, the young woman wasted no time clearing the space between.

"Hey, are you alright? Do you need help?"

[♥] Nagisa wasn’t exactly sure if he was astonished or terrified at the sudden outburst the girl had abruptly shown him as his hand was slapped away from her direction. He could already feel the surprised stares on them but the blond couldn’t find it in himself to glance back at them; as though fearing for the possibility of getting hit once he averted his gaze away from the female stranger.

"A-Ah, hey… wait a minute…" He tried but the girl had already shifted her attention away from him and stormed off. He just watched her leave with the magazine still in his hand, the astonished look completely frozen on his face. Their eyes met for a fleeting moment and before Nagisa could react, the girl was out of sight.

"…"

"Young man, are you okay?" A sweet old lady approached him with a concerned look as Nagisa glanced down at her with a small sheepish smile.

"O-Oh, yeah, I’m okay." He chuckled emptily. "She’s uh… She’s just probably having a tough day…"

Extended Ending!

The sound of fingers hitting the keyboard filled the silence of Asuna's lonely bedroom, bringing as much comfort to the girl as the glass of steaming hot chocolate, which sat on the computer desk just beside her, was. Since her return from the convenience store earlier that day, the scene of her interaction with the blonde haired boy played like an unwanted movie on repeat in her mind. Ugh! Why couldn't she just forget such a disgraceful event and move on with her life?

"Because I feel horrible ... Haaaah, Karma can be so cruel sometimes."

With her mind in such turmoil, there was no way she could peacefully concentrate on her guild's group raid scheduled for that night. Typing out a quick excuse about suddenly remembering she had something to do, and then profusely apologizing at the chagrin of her teammates, she logged out of the game which had been preoccupying her time for the majority of the evening. Hazel optics looked to the corner of her screen where she knew the time to be located, sighing exasperatedly as 9:07 PM blazed back at her.

"I guess the best thing to do would be to take a bath and go to bed early."

Instead of removing herself from the chair, she simply sat there in silence; mulling over something she had all but forgotten. Guilty Pleasure.

'He said that it was one of his sister's favorites, which supposedly gives good advice. I didn't really have enough time to really look through it though to know for sure.'

Leaning forward in her seat, she clicked on the icon which directed her to the internet. It only took a moment to find the website for the Guilty Pleasure magazine, and before she knew what was happening she had become enthralled.

Least to say, by the end of the night, she had successfully subscribed to receive future issues --

And was expecting her first delivery next week.

He grinned as he picked up the ball, now facing Asuna. “I haven’t warmed up,” Daiki admitted. “so it’s not as good. You should come watch a real game sometimes, I’m a lot better in those.” That’s if they let him play. Sometimes they liked keeping him on the bench, to ‘save’ him or something. Maybe he should tell them that he could go all out the entire four quarters whenever he wanted.

"Yeah, I got in on a scholarship," he confirmed. "A lot more universities offered too."

Asuna shot him a playful smirk as she watched him retrieve the ball, dribbling the round object a little. A thoughtful looked passed across her face as she nodded her head in understanding. So she was right in assuming that he got in on scholarship. He didn't look like someone who'd normally be able to get into such a prestigious university ... not that she was really going to say that aloud though.

"If you received scholarships to other universities, why'd you choose to attend St. Orwell's?"

Surprising or unsurprising enough, her favorite book is actually a favorite series. The moment she picked up the first book of Cassandra Clare's Infernal Devices trilogy, the orange haired girl had been hooked. Instantly, she feel hopelessly and irrevocably in love with sassy Will Herondale, and later with with gentle Jem Carstairs as well.

Oh the hours she spent tormenting herself over the love triangle between the two boys and innocent Tessa Gray; often finding herself longing to jump right into the book, if only to take one or the other off the girl's hands. Because really, she didn't need both of them did she? Surely Tessa could spare her one gentlemen.

{ ❊ } Byakuran was too busy laughing, since the snowball hit the other’s face instead of the back of her orange hair like he had planned. He didn’t see the other scoop up more ice only to throw it back at his face.

"OOF." Came his response, as he felt the cold ice reach his face. It. Was. So. Cold. Why did he decide to do that? Couldn’t he have just gone to the other instead of acting like a little kid.

No, let’s not be crazy. He was out of it, but not that out of it.

"I plan on winning that too, Asu-chan~" Came his response, as the albino did the same, scooping up more. He had to make a fort. A snow fort. But the other would get hits on him if he spent time doing that.

Therefore, no fort today.

A playful grin met her own smirk, as the man released another ball of ice towards the girl, before scooping up more quickly he threw another ball in succession to the first. Chances were, at least one or maybe both would hit.

"You need to win battles to win a war Asu-chan~"

"Right! And I plan on winning every battle from now on!"

This time she was prepared for his assault, and quickly dodged to the side to avoid being hit. Unfortunately for her, a second snow missile had been hiding within the shadow of the first; and she just barely managed to block it from hitting her face by raising her arm as a barrier to shield her face. Cradling as many snowballs as she could within the crook or her arm, she jumped to her feet and sent a couple of her own snowballs back at him in friendly retaliation.

"Hah! Close, but not close enough, Sir Knight~"

Her mind temporarily left her as she remembered the night she had met him, and the playful game of Sir Knight and Lady Damsel. Determined eyes looked upon the other fondly for a moment, before steeling back up. No way was she going to let sentimentality get in her way now! There was a war going on!

"You gotta be faster if you want to catch me!"

▬♦So Glum? ❣ Byakuran & Asuna

{ ✿ } Byakuran let out a short laugh as the girl responded, referring to herself as a damsel. By that logic, he was either some prissy boy prince, or a knight in shining armor. Hardly those two idea would ever fit him. He’d probably be the king’s fool if anything.

"I’m glad you enjoyed it then, Damsel-chan~" He hummed out in response, giving her another playful wink. Though it seemed his comment about her smile was a bad idea as her face fell again.

Then she revealed the reason why she decided to visit here today. He listened quietly, as she spoke. He could actually paint a picture of what had happened in his mind the way she described. Annoyance welled up within him, as she finished it.

Since his mother brought him up more then anyone else, she taught him women were to be treated with respect. Apparently in this situation, that didn’t happen and frankly, he wanted to feel the guy’s face under his fist.

As she apologized, he just gave her a soft smile in response. ”Don’t worry about it. Thanks for telling me what happened.” He said giving her a light shrug. He had to pick his words a bit more carefully it seemed, now that he knew what really happened.

"I don’t think you should dwell on people like that, signora. There obviously the bad ones, so it may have been good this happened." He said, keeping on a light grin. He reached beneath the counter again, to bring up two straws. One with blue strips,and the other a plain green.

"Pretend these are people. Sometimes people tend to see the good, charming side of a person. We’ll say the blue stripes are the good~" He started, as he showed her the straw. "Sometimes emotions might confuse us, and we don’t see the white side, or the bad side until later. This situation seems to fit well with that." Byakuran continued, placing down the straw.

"This blue person of yours was bad. He hid his white side, so he should do this~" He picked up the straw and threw it into the trash easily,before giving her another smile. "Then comes along another person,who’s plain like this one." He held up the green one.

"This person has no white side, because he only wants the best for you. There’s a person out like that signora~ You can’t lose hope because of one stupid blue one." Byakuran concluded his little demonstration by placing the straw into the class.

"Though, if you want to still play damsel, I’ll be happy to be your knight for tonight~" Byakuran added, followed by a short, cheery laugh. "I like seeing your smile after all~"

Just as she was about to wave away his apology, telling him that he had no reason to spare his sympathy on her trivial problems, his next actions served to effectively cut off her train of thought. Hazel optics watched in utmost curiosity as he reached under the counter once again, only to pull out a couple of different colored straws a moment later.

The he began his demonstration. Completely bewildered by his antics, Asuna could only half follow what he was saying. Something about white being bad and blue being good, and how the white color liked to hide behind a blue mask - or something like that. When he got to the part where he told her what such straws should do, she couldn't help but be amused as he simply tossed it into the trash.

Afterwards, be began on the other straw. Something with how solid colors were the best, and that there was a solid color waiting for her out there somewhere. He told her not to be discouraged by the multicolored straw, before cheerfully placing the solid green one into her drink.

For a long moment, she simply stared at the straw bobbing lightly in her drink with a blank expression. What was he --?

And then she laughed.

At first it was a soft, barely audible sound, which eventually grew in volume as her amusement spiked. It was definitely inappropriate to laugh in such a situation, but for the life of her she couldn't contain it. Salty tears began to pool in the corners of her eyes, causing her hand to rise up in order to fend them off.

"Y-you're so weird!"

She managed to force out between her laughter, eventually calming down as she began to regain control of herself.

"Thank you." A brilliant smile, freed from her previous heartache, played across her face as she gazed up at him. "I'll make sure to keep a look out for my solid colored straw. Though, I do hope it's a different color than green. Wouldn't you agree, Sir Knight?"

{ ❊ } Why was it so cold today?

That was the albino’s only thought, as he woke up. Blanket pulled up around his waist he glanced around, blinking sleepily. He had picked the wrong night to sleep without a shirt on. With that thought in mind, he glanced at the window, seeing a thin veil of white frost around the edges instead of the usual clear bright day he usually saw.

Ice…snow? His slow brain was slowly waking up, as lavender hues watched the slow falling of white specks through the window. He released a sigh, as he ran his hand through the snowy white hair he had. He didn’t like the cold very much, especially snow since when he wore white he could blend in to the surrondings.

"…..Do I stay in…or go out?" Came his mumbled voice as it struggled to wake up with the rest of his body. Another sigh released as he didn’t get a response. Swinging his legs off the bed, he decided it would be best to leave today, and leave the heater own, less he freezes when he came back.

It was a painfully slow process as he took a shower, ate and got dressed, wearing a light blue jacket with a brown scarf around him. With that done, he went out. As soon as he stepped out he shivered again before releasing a puff of white from his mouth.

It was really cold today.

Oh well, it couldn’t be helped. He didn’t like staying in after all. With the decision already made to leave the house, he turned and started to walk wherever his feet led him today.

As the albino walked, he paused as he heard a familier light voice. He tilted his head to the side as he saw a certain orange haired girl bending down, obviously rolling something out of the snow. Perhaps she was going to build something?

Lavender hues glanced down, before a grin stretched across his face, as he scooped down, gathering up the cold ice and shaping it into a ball. Going a bit closer, he raised it and threw it at the back of her head before calling out to the other.

"Morning Asu-chan~ Having fun today?"

'Good! That should do it.'

Asuna stared in pride down at her tiny ball of snow, pleased at the favorable outcome her artistic talents allowed her to create. If there was an award for the perfect snowball, which would eventually be rolled into a much larger one, then she would without a doubt be given such an award. The shape, the texture, and artistry! It was all icy perfection. Yes! This year, she would make the snowman of snowmen!

Eugene, King of the Snow People!

A determined glint caused her eyes to darken as she cackled softly down at her creation, her mind lost in fantasies of King Eugene ruling over a kingdom of imperfect snow people. So lost within her own mind was she, that she didn't even notice the male walking up to her with playful intent. Well, that was until his familiar voice gently coaxed her back to reality.

"Oh! Byakuran, just in time! I need you to help--"

As her head whipped around to greet the snowy haired man, she was instead met with the quickly approaching form of ... a snowball? There was no time to dodge the on-coming assailant, who easily planted its watery self all over her face. Thin eyebrows twitched in annoyance as the fabric of her gloves shot up to rub the icy flakes from her skin.

"Oi, you--"

Eugene, King of the Snow People, was successfully thrown to the back of her mind as she quickly gathered a handful of snow and patted it into a ball, flinging it in the chuckling man's direction. A competitive glint appeared in her narrowed eyes, and with a playful smirk crawling across her face, she quickly began to assemble her snowy arsenal.

"Hmph! You may have won that battle, but the war has just begun!"

Daiki was never one to turn away from the chance to head out in the snow.

It wasn't like he had anything else to do that morning. His messed up sleep schedule had him wake up at around seven in the morning, and he couldn't seem to fall back asleep anyway. Plus, with the excess snow, there was no way practice was on today. Which meant no basketball today. No. Basketball.

At least he loved snow. They didn't get much in Japan, so he might as well enjoy this. Shrugging on a thick dark blue coat and a pair of boots, he headed out cheerfully.

Hm, what should he do? He could pull pranks on people, maybe set up a snow trap for that annoying Togami guy that was his neighbor. Or he could throw snowballs at random strangers and run away before they could see him (He did that a lot as a kid, so he knew it worked very well).

That is until he spotted the girl he met in the park the other day.

"Oh, Asuna!" He called out, giving her a little wave. "Enjoying the snow?"

One, two~ One, two~

Humming cheerfully to herself, she continued to pat the pile of snow into a perfectly formed ball. It had taken her a bit more time than she had originally assumed, seeing as the icy flakes still held strong to their powdery texture instead of freezing into nice clumps.

Now, all she had to do was roll it. Hopefully the snow would prove to be more cooperative now. Just as she rose to her feet, the sound of her voice caused her head to swing in the sound's direction. Standing a few feet away from her was the boy, Daiki if she remembered correctly, who had demonstrated his prowess at basketball to her some time ago. Smiling, she returned his wave with one of her own.

"Good morning, Daiki! Yup! The snow is great, don't you agree?"

Upon the squeak, Shizuo jerked to a small degree, rather surprised by the release of the shrill sound. Blatantly taken off guard, as his hairs stood on end and a chill ascended his bent spine, he abruptly turned his head to face the direction of the girl beside him as he wrung out the material within his dripping palms. His eyes were partially widened.

"What the hell?"

His eyes immediately averted from her, to where her attention was drawn towards — the wet surface on the floor. Without realizing, the blond proceeded to allow a final splatter of the salt-water to taint the floor, while simultaneously acknowledging how she pulled her legs to her chest. Despite observing the whole incident unfold as he finished with the vest, he still couldn’t put the two and two together. There was a part of him that simply believed she was deranged, battling against the other part of his thoughts that wondered if something was up. Whatever the case was, he felt as though it ceased with her comment.

"Worked for me," Shizuo voiced with a half-shrug, keeping his eyes plastered onto his vest as he buttoned up the front of the cloth. He figured he’d wait until he arrived home to give a go at drying the shirt and dress trousers.

Naturally, the bowtie was the next easiest thing.

Initially moving his hands that were dank, particularly with the scent of fish that emitted from the water on his callused fingers, the blond halted in his movements as her curious tone rang through the silence. He had already presumed by her name that she was of Japanese decent, but could have cared less regarding her origin. He was never particularly interested in that kind of stuff — backstory, childhood, and the like.

The memories that ordinarily surfaced weren’t ones he wanted to relive.

Leaning his head back as his chocolate eyes met hers for the first time since his arrival, Shizuo started riddling off his Japanese in a dismissive timbre, “Yes, it’s my first language. And, I’ll do what I wan -..”

His voice cut off as he shot her a perplexed gander. Her hand collided with the blond’s own, and that was the final straw. He couldn’t take it anymore. He had to know why she was doing this; what exactly her game was, or if there happened to be a particular scheme behind her antics. She was so touchy-feelsy — she encumbered him with kindness, and it pissed him off because she would deny his privilege of asking any questions. He wasn’t going to allow someone to waltz into his personal zone, and completely disregard what he had to say, acting as though they were superior.

Once was surprising, twice was confusing, but three times?

"Why are ‘ya here? Why do ‘ya keep doin' things for me?” Shizuo's countenance withheld a stern expression, accompanied by an unwavering stare. The foreign feeling he was attacked by earlier resurfaced again, but he did his utmost to suppress his uncertainty.

I just want a damn explanation.

"What do ‘ya have ‘ta gain from this?"
