Just a general musing about my 2000th watch of Tron Legacy:
Sam is the largest shareholder of Encom, meaning he is likely significantly wealthy. He clearly has the money to get himself out of trouble, & fix up a bike, but he also seems to…choose to live in the garage Encom was started in. Assuming he lives there, maybe he doesn’t considering it seems more like a workshop. He doesn’t live like a wealthy person, certainly. A rejection of the opulence Encom offers perhaps.

ABOUT THIS ALSO- what was the point of ANY of it? If Quorra could’ve already seen the sun, if humans could have already met physical programs, if Kevin is still alive, if we never see Rinzler, WHAT IS THE POINT OF ANY OF IT? Just throw it all away why don’t you!

I was so very upset to see that they’re not only bringing Kevin back after he was put to rest, but also making a program? A super soldier? I hate it

First of all these are AMAZING. I love them sm. But also YES, honestly I want all of Tron to look weirder! It’s inherently a bit of an alien series, with elements bordering on horror, & I think more weirdness would work fantastically.

Really like the use of sheer fabric in some of these. Wish we got to see more of that in the movie.
Just a reminder that these messages are scams, & no refugee going through such crisis would guilt trip people over Tumblr dms, threatening to kill themselves & their children. This is disgusting, & is a classic tactic to get you to panic & donate without thinking. If you wish to donate to refugees, there are MANY charities you can choose from. Never give your money to someone sending you random links in dms.
I’ve gotten a surprising number of messages about this claiming my suggestion of donating to charities is not affective, that I’m somehow being callous to people experiencing the horrors of genocide, or that I’m somehow not a ‘true’ activist for denying these people.
I ask that please, anyone who is giving these messages the benefit of the doubt, think logically about what you would do in the shoes of a refugee. Think logically about why these messages look the way they do, why they repeat so often, why there’s SO MANY of them.
No individual or group of genuine refugees would set up a bot network to continuously repeat the same messages over & over, filled with emojis & random names & numbers. We know they are bots because it is happening site wide, constantly. It would be a ridiculous waste of time for these people to sit on their phones manually typing all of this out. They would not threaten death if they were not given money, they would not lie about desperately needing insulin, they would not use stock photos of violence to claim they were attacked. If you don’t see the problem with this story not lining up, I don’t know what to say to you. You likely have not looked into the nature of Internet scams enough to recognize this very clear pattern.
I am not a supporter of any & all charities. They are often ineffective, bureaucratic, shell companies. The truth is we who are not in war affected countries cannot provide direct aid, & we must rely on charities & do our best to look into their ethics. I would recommend donating to the legal funds of students being persecuted for their support of Palestine, & other similar causes that support Palestine, but are closer to home & therefore easier to verify (most of these messages do not even say the word Palestine, anyway). Right now, if you live in America there are various groups in need of help who could greatly benefit from funds. Basically any & all minorities of any kind are under threat- sexual, gender related, racial. We must be safe ourselves before we can truly put all of our effort into helping others, & this does not mean we do not care about other’s struggles. Please do not give people money over DMs, do not click random links, do not give your name to these people, really, try not to talk to them at all. It is the basics of internet safety.
Thinking about groups of wild Bits acting similarly to bird flocks.
They do a YES at regular intervals for contact calls. They go in order of when they first joined the group, and at the same time each time. If one spots danger or the one before it hasn’t pinged it goes NO and they all flee like pigeons
They also keep within a defined range of motion from each other

Megabytes and Kilobytes marching along established paths and riverbeds like herds of wild goats or deer, presenting a wall of red no spikes to anyone they consider threatening.
Pods of Gigabytes and Terabytes swimming in deeper pools, far too big to fly like their smaller cousins, sending ripples of yellow through the water as they call out in deep low tones reminiscent of whalesong.
Nobody knows for sure if there's anything larger than a Terabyte. But sometimes, a mountain seems to shift - meandering across the land, ponderous in its path, far too slow to be noticeable save for in hindsight over cycles on end - and the whispers of old watchers and eyes in the hills start anew.

The Games, & The Grid
Something that I often think about, within the lore of Tron, is the role of the grid, & programs, in representing the functions of a computer. It’s the entire basis for the movies right? But something to consider is…how well does the grid actually represent a computer’s functions? Does it even represent the game of Tron? I believe it’s implied that the Games & the challenge of the Grid is supposed to be like, the playing of a video game from an outside perspective, but that’s not really how games work right? If your avatar had agency, you wouldn’t be in control.
I know the whole “life inside a computer” is largely supposed to be a metaphor, not really a literal job that the grid plays, but it’s something that I always pause at, when I really consider it. Does every internet provider have its own Grid? Is it every computer? Do all grids work the same? & the thing I’m most curious about, what exactly does CLU & his army represent in the context of a computer? A virus, an…anti-virus software?

This is a gem & I must bring up again the sheer eldritch horror potential in Tron. Give me more of that bizarre shit we saw in Uprising please, I think about it all the time.
Also has anyone ever thought about how the Grid is like…possibly infinite? Like a Minecraft world, where if you go too far things start loading wrong? They don’t live on a planet, so it must be…generated somehow
