Today on "things that drive me up a fucking wall about Sam Flynn": The fact that Alan calls him the world's most fake idgaf-er ever and it's one of the things that truly does define Sam as a whole!

Like, think about it. Guy who lives in a garage when he could be living in the lap of luxury for how successful Encom is because he gives his money to charity regularly (and Ares actually backs this up too, Sam's got a whole foundation under his name by 2025.) Flynn's surprise when even twenty years in the future Sam remembers the details to the old stories of the Grid Flynn used to tell him because they still mattered to Sam that much. The fact he's not really sure what to think of Quorra at first when they meet, and by the time they get to the End of Line when he sees her get hurt trying to fight for him, he looks fuckin horrified and scared because he cares so fuckin deeply.

Sam loves to act so disaffected and casual about everything around him but that guy cares so much underneath the cool guy "I don't give a shit" exterior and I will fight in defense of that until the end of fuckin time.
