Two days of focus on 1 John 1:4-5 and related passages produced the most beautiful sense of joy in my heart! Light; definition: something that makes things visible; removes darkness; illuminates. The Greek word for light is phos. Meaning, “to shine or make manifest”. Light is truth, knowledge, spiritual purity and symbolizes Holy God, His presence; favor. Light is a representation of salvation and life. In Christ, there is absolutely no darkness, for the Holy Spirit - light, dwells within each one of us. In Christ we experience fellowship with God every moment of every day. Our sustainer and giver of life - the one who created us, also sustains us. Doesn’t every creator love his creation and desire to see it cared for? Our God is sovereign and has absolute power over all people and things. What a peace we should have knowing that he is always fully in control. In Christ, we have victory! Jesus overcame death, and in him we too will overcome. Our victory is in Jesus Christ alone. He is risen from the grave! Because of him, no longer are we burdened by darkness. For now we are filled by the Light. To God be the glory!
