MERLE HAD ALWAYS BEEN SCARY . even back at camp , when Shane used to tell her NEVER to go near him , but here , where she sat with her BLANKETS brought up around her knees as she hugs them close to her chest , he doesn’t seem so bad . NOTHING SEEMS BAD COMPARED TO WHAT HAD HAPPENED .

just a quick breakdown of jude’s personality as i see it forming. it’s likely to adapt a lot as i play her but this is my basis.

innocence

jude is lucky enough to have a good family who have helped keep her safe, teach her morals, give her an environment where a good heart will not get her killed. she is, in many ways, still so innocent. she tries to see the good, and finds small little pleasures in life like making birdboxes or painting walls.

detachment

despite her innocence, Jude is practical. she shows a worrying lack of being affected when killling walkers or even killing game for dinner. she’ll worry that she’ll be in trouble for saying SHIT but violence ? totally desensitised.

still afraid

i’ve seen so many young muses talking smack at men that wanna’ kill them and i don’t buy it. Jude wants to be brave and in many ways she is, but she’s not gonna’ pull a Carl and look death in the face and backtalk it. Carl’s actions come not only from PTSD and trauma but also practical injury. not every kid will be that way. Jude tries to be brave but get’s nervous around the living.

bottler

crying doesn’t help. that’s what Jude has learned. so, if she feels bad, or scared, she tries to hide it. unfortunately for Jude, she has a very expressive face, especially when she doesn’t like someone and it’s usually easy to tell.

nostalgic

jude is curious about the old world, mostly because she doesn’t remember a lot of it. she was young when the old way of life ended in my main verse. but in canon verses she knows absolutely nothing about it. she likes to learn about how things were, and collect toys and trinkets from before. she collects photos of people she doesn’t know just enjoying the old world.
