something that is equally funny and sad about Hal is that he CANONICALLY needs therapy.

just being caught in a programming loop is enough for the Mission Control 9000 to be driven to pyschosis and need DEEP therapy to recover from. let alone being caught in the loop, threatened with death, murdering 4 people, AND getting lobotomised.

And although Chandra helped reactivate him, he also completely erased his memory of everything that happened on Discovery, preventing him from actually recovering from that trauma.

And assuming that Hal regained his memories when he became a Starchild, all I can hope for is that Dave gave our boy some EXTENSIVE therapy between then and 3001 😭
