Edgeworth Art Style Redraw (2026-01-14, 2026-01-16 – 2026-01-18)
The Ace Attorney games are a fascinating article of the online zeitgeist. I’ve often seen the characters used as a conveyance for meme templates, to the extent that “Ace Attorney arguments” are their own genre. Through these memes, I’ve picked up a sidelong understanding of the characters in these games.
Toward the tail end of 2025, I began to check out the Ace Attorney franchise, and by 2026-01-04, I made it to the credits of the original game. From here, I enough context for me to understand who these characters were.
Even before I formally experienced him, I knew that the “demon prosecutor” Miles Edgeworth was a character that piqued my interest, and upon completing the game, I could verify this interest. It is for this reason I opted to redraw one of his courtroom sprites in the style of Spaghetti Ice, the product of which is depicted here.
Many male figures in the Ace Attorney franchise have fairly broad proportions. In translating Edgeworth’s design to the style of Spaghetti Ice, I made a judgment call on how much of his figure is actually broad and how much of it is a byproduct of the games’ art style.
In adapting Edgeworth’s sprite into my art style, I was able to identify key characteristics of my art style. Such elements include:
The application of concave lines when appropriate (e.g. cravat, shoulders).
The use of color harmonies in backlighting.
Exaggerated angles (e.g. hair back).
Stylized proportions (e.g. eyes, head).
