The first time I heard about DBD, I didn't have Netflix, and all I had was the trailer on Twitter. I knew absolutely NOTHING about it (only that was part of the sandman universe). So my mind started working, and what I imagined was:

Esther and Jenny are the villains trying to harm the boys (each on their own), but at one point, while posing as ordinary citizens, they meet and fall in love. So now they're a couple fighting against them, but then Jenny realizes that Esther is much more evil and dangerous and teams up with the boys to defeat her (tragic lesbians).

There was more to the plot, but I forgot it :/

So yeah... nothing to do with the series, but hey, the queer was always there, haha.

I had a sad thought.

Dead Boy Detectives and The Sandman are from the same universe, right? So, Dream was captured in 1916 and freed in 2022. During that time, people couldn't sleep, or couldn't wake up, or were sleepwalkers, or simply didn't dream. This leads me to this:

Edwin died in 1916, so he was able to dream in his short life.

Niko and Crystal spent part of their lives without dreaming, but from 2022 onward, they knew what it was.

But what about Charles?

He died in 1989, which means he never could or knew what dreaming was in his short life... Now he's a ghost, and ghosts don't sleep or dream, so he'll never be able to experience what it's like, beyond what Edwin and the girls could tell him.

(I don't really know if that's how it works, but I thought about it and it made me sad :( )
