just block and move on honestly. i’m on your side but making posts does nothing for either side (people will come into your inbox to yell at you and others will shame people who disagree with you). it creates a bad environment on tumblr and i find curating your experience works easiest.

so truly the entire purpose of that post was to ward off requests like that from my inbox. the marvel fandom tends to sway as far as “trending requests” (for example a really popular one for Bucky was dark winter soldier AUs & then post hydra recovery). usually I allow for the vast majority of requests to hit my inbox. but that is just one that I personally would never write or touch, now the reason it was so strongly worded was because in past seasons of marvel drops I have specified that my requests are open and have hinted or have stated in like a sentence or so that I will not write certain things and it has been totally ignored. which I get to some degree this is just fanfiction it’s not the biggest deal in the world

but im a comic book kid through and through and the fantastic 4 were my SHIT growing up, I have so many issues of it it’s insane. so writing for them is like a treat for me. the last thing I wanted was for my inbox to get requests like that because I want to be able to write any request that I get if that makes sense? and since making that post I’ve seen several other blogs post similar stuff to that degree so I suppose I just wanted to make it clear that I don’t tolerate that here in any capacity.

But yeah anyone who stayed and read all this fics come out tomorrow night so stay tuned 🖤

You say you don't care about people writing dark fics but then immediately tell people they better not... 🤔 why do you think you get to dictate what fandoms people write dark fics for? What authority do you have to demand it's okay for people to write such content for some fandoms but not all? For someone who claims to not be a pearl clutcher, you definitely seem like one. Perhaps just block writers you don't care for? The most purity police thing you can do is write a whole post complaining that people are writing fics you don't like about your favorite characters. I know this content is not being forced down your throat. I'm active in the tags and haven't seen anything you're talking about. You saw like two posts and felt personally attacked over it? Get over yourself, they're fictional characters. Go clutch your pearls somewhere else.

okay. no because what the actual fuck is going on. the new fantastic four movie has been out for like five minutes and some of y’all already jumped straight into writing group smut involving siblings, a married woman, and zero actual respect for what these characters are about.

and i say this as someone who has written my fair share of messy, controversial, morally grey fanfic. i am not some pearl-clutching purity police. i literally do not care if you wanna write dark shit. but if you’re gonna take something that is literally built on family and loyalty and immediately warp it into incest/incest-adjacent (yeah just saw two fucking fics like this) and shock-value sex scenes. i’m sorry but that’s not subversive. that’s not even creative. it’s just fucking garbage.

the fantastic four is the foundation of marvel. these characters were created to explore chosen family, they’re iconic because they’re good. because they stand for something real in a genre that constantly flirts with nihilism. so maybe, and this is crazy, maybe don’t immediately sexualize the BROTHER AND SISTER. like let’s be fucking fr they aren’t the game of thrones families.

and while we’re here: yes. my requests are open for all the fantastic four characters. i will write for reed, sue, johnny, ben. it does not have to be clean. it can be dark. it can be sexy. it can be unhinged. but it will never be fucking disrespectful.
