Hiii i don't know if you ever answer this before and sorry if you did but can you do tips or tutorial for the way you draw? (faces or bodys) i find your art really beautiful and i want to believe one day i will draw just as pretty like you. If you don't want to do the tutorial/tips is ok! i completely understand. Hope you have a nice dayyy
hello there! thank you so much for the compliments! and no problem, you can ask me pretty much anything -- i don't receive questions often so i'm always happy to help. for starters, i use clip studio paint for drawing. i don't use downloaded brushes if not for specific things i'm trying to achieve or to save time (blood splatters is a good example). i tend to use the mechanical pencil, it can be found under the pencil folder. no specific settings either besides the stabilization -- i use every tool with stabilization set at 12. disclaimer: this isn't extremely beginner friendly, as you have to already know basic face anatomy. i'm diving deeper on the stylization of what i personally find comfortable doing. first of all, observe the subject you want to portray and draw on top of an image to make it easier for you to study. tip: the more you draw, the more you get confident with the lines.
i personally don't use guidelines, but if they help you PLEASE note them down! by guidelines i mean circle + cross combo etc., you can find face drawing guidelines on google or anatomy books. always remember geometry in these cases. shapes are everything you need -- for example, mouths are just elongated Ms (literally the letter shape), the nose can be a long triangle, the eyes vary a lot but they can look like triangles - softer triangles - weird shaped circles and so on. ALWAYS search for shapes to simplify your understanding. after studying (do a bunch of pictures too in different angles, it helps in the long run so you don't always have to rely on a specific reference picture, but you can improvise the features you've learned), it gets to stylization and how much pressure i use for each part of the face. i left a little map and a quick Arthur sketch.
this is the base, now let's add details.
added shadows and more depth to the lineart, along with many many wrinkles and detailing (like the nose lines, i love doing that). i also LOVE to add hard lineart to edges, for example it happens a lot with hair!
before and after:
i use fill-in for black hair, under the chin shadow, black clothes and that's it.
examples below:
for bodies, i recommend studying Burne Hogarth. there are lots of books at like 5€ on Amazon. anything works, but i took inspiration from his drawings.
hope i helped at least a bit! it takes time. a lot of it. just try and try until you're somewhat satisfied!
much love for you.
