" Oya oya~ unless you are the vindice you cant hold me in custody~ just so you know~ kufufu and i dont mean any trouble~ i am just a lost soul~ that doesnt know where he is~ So i would rather not hurt you unless you insist~" he warned her before his red eye began to glow warning her that he meant what he said.

She bit her lower lip. "Crime Coefficient over 210. Lethal Eliminator Mode." The gun shifted into its most dangerous phase as her eyes continued to shine an illuminating cyan hue. "Stay back."

Seeing that face, the boy smiled, just a little bit, but warmly. She had such familiar reactions. “There are hotels toward the edge of town," he replied. “You can stay at my house, too… unless you’re allergic to birds or cats. And really, it wouldn’t be any sort of burden if you do; there’s plenty of food and space. But, in the end, it’s your choice."

She shouldn't stay at his house. She knew that much. A grown woman could not depend on a high school boy, and that was a clear unspoken rule that she knew she should not cross. "Would it really be alright to stay at your place?"

Hibari nods and smiles a little bit. “There are lots of books about how to create a perfect society or, conversely, why it’s impossible. So I suppose yours is the most sensible conclusion."

He thought for a moment, before continuing to speak. “If you like, you can stay in Namimori for a bit; I can show you around, though there won’t be many people about. Unless you have work you need to do, of course."

"Eh?" Her brown eyes wide, she looked over at him, head tilted and lips slightly parted. She laughed and shook her head. "I wouldn't have anywhere to stay, and besides, I wouldn't want to be a burden." She honestly wanted to go spend time in Namimori - it didn't particularly matter if she took a few days off of work anyways since she hardly ever went on vacation.

"Yes; most people don’t drive in Namimori, so it makes sense that we wouldn’t have newer cars," he agreed, smiling when she laughed. “It’s small, so there isn’t much point. I actually don’t think I’ve ridden in a car more than five times in the ten or so years I’ve lived here. Namimori doesn’t change much, so it lives up to its name: ‘heaped normalcy.’"

“Namimori, trailing green,/is neither great nor small,/its Normal is the best," he sang. “That’s my school’s anthem, but I like it a lot." He paused, eyes looking past the woman and at the passing lights. So many, so bright, each like the last and the next, perfectly spaced. “It’s not a big or important or advanced city, but I like it there. It’s peaceful, the people are honest, and I try not to ride my motorbike too much because it fouls the air and creates lots of noise." He sighed, looking vaguely at the rear-view mirror. “I think it’s fine if I’m the only one who’s hated or feared because, though I do go overboard in ways, I think it’s what I need to do to keep the majority of people in the place I like most safe from fear or hatred."

He blinked, straightening up again. “I’m sorry, I keep bringing up serious topics. I’ll try to stop; it’s probably boring for me to keep talking about myself."

"No, it's alright." She laughed lightly, feeling as if a burden had been taken off of her shoulders for some reason. "I like hearing about these things. I've only lived in the city my entire life, after all." Her eyes glinted. "And besides, I've always wanted to know what the world outside of here was like. I've never left this area even once." Well, save the time she had to go to the "countryside" to bring justice to a certain criminal. But she didn't want to recall those painful memories, of the last time she ever saw Kougami Shinya. "And as long as you're enforcing for the greater good of the people, I don't think there's anything wrong with that. There is no perfect system, after all." There was a little strain to her last words, as she recalled the law that she had to protect. The Sibyl System. That cruel, machine-like reign that put people under the illusion of being safe. As much as she hated it, however, she could not argue against it.

The boy shook his head. “You don’t have to apologize or anything,” he assured the older woman with a wry half-smile, “there’s someone you remind me of, too.” One year my junior, usually he’s clumsy and can’t do anything right, not even run away. But sometimes, when he stands up, he holds himself the way you do, and has eyes determined to pull others back into the boat even if it means nearly drowning himself. ”It might even be why I felt fine asking you for… Is the car driving itself?” He stared with intense curiosity at the dashboard for a few moments. “Well, I suppose it is ‘auto-mobile’.”

"Hm?" She regained her senses, focusing on the current situation rather than reminiscing on the past. "Ah, yes it is." She smiled, laughing slightly at his comment. "Cars have been like this for a while, you know. Maybe it's just the large cities that have cars like this, huh?" She mused. "I guess we really do have completely different lives, don't we?"

The teen turned, watching the moonlight and city lights reflecting off the water. “Nostalgia…” That’s the word for what I felt when I found Brother’s old clothes, I think… “Yes, I have,” he answered simply. “… I found some my brother’s old clothes about eight years after he left. I guess I’d made myself forget about him so the house wouldn’t seem very big.”

Hibari suddenly realized that he’d been going off on his own tangent and sat back up. “What about it?”

She took in her words slowly. A room becoming larger, colder, after someone special leaving - it seemed as if she could understand his feelings. Her gaze seemed slightly faded as she continued on. "Well, that's the sort of feeling I get with you." She paused. How could she explain her emotions without sounding like just some strange old woman reflecting on the past?

"There was someone I knew long ago who you look like... And act like, to some degree." She took a turn to the right and set the car to auto drive and leaned back in her chair, sighing. "I'm sorry. I'm being weird."

He came out of the showows slowly. “Kufufu a girl and a gun~ and she is pointing it at me~ that is something new~” he teased as he allowed his mismatching eyes glow in the dim light. ” Well what do we have here? If your that scare drop it~ Its no use if you cant handle a gun~” he pointed out.

"Shut up..." She felt a little relieved now that she could see the man a little more clearly, but the fact that he was significantly taller than her didn't help at all. His eyes instilled a cold fear within her. "I can handle it just fine. I'm taking you into custody."

Out of habit, the boy’s head tilted slightly to the side, watching her face him a bit. “As I just said, you seem to avoid looking at me. Granted, you are driving. However, asking whether I’m lonely the way I live… It sounded… melancholy.” He sighed just a little bit, looking out the window at the night scene outside. “You don’t have to answer if it makes you uncomfortable; you can just say so.”

She paused again. She didn't know how to reply. Was it really so easy to tell that she was in pain even after all those years? How was he able to understand so quickly? She blinked a few times, as if she were gathering her thoughts, before replying. She wet her lips before replying in a solemn tone. "I know you're young, so this may not apply to you, but..." She was on the highway now, on a bridge over a serene river reflecting several lights. "Have you ever felt something called nostalgia?"

The bluenette had been sent to another dimension as a playful joke of a certain sky. His eyes twitched i anger as he was thinking of the many ways he was going to get back at the silverette. He walked around the strange city he needed intel but didnt know how to get it. Soon enough he could feel strange presence all around him. He might be arrogant but he knew better than to interfere in on others dimensions problem. 

He walked around until he noticed a certain girl. She looked familiar but not at the same time. He eyed her from afar his mismatching eyes calculating and observant.

Her fear getting the better of her, as soon as she heard the footsteps behind her, she whirled around, Dominator still in hand. She was nearly hyperventilating, her chest rising and falling rapidly as she tried to regain control of her shaking arms. She could barely see the silhouette of the man several yards away, especially with the blurring of her eyes. 

"Don't move." She warned, sounding as threatening as the little girl she had been five years ago, when she was too afraid to do anything. Had she really not changed for so long?

“Evenin’!” Choe finally stepped out from his place of hiding, rushing the inspector from behind—reaching to take control of the hand which held the Dominator. It’s quite possible that he was not alone in this building. Perhaps, even protecting someone else from ambush. The taller man wore shades over his prosthetic eyes—it’d be difficult to tell this man’s more unique features.

So much as he knew, this inspector had pursued into the building alone: a foolish thing to do. He was well prepared to face another inspector or enforcer—but it’d be difficult to find this inspector now, as he’d set up a device to interfere with communications.

Akane froze in terror. Where had he come from? Her heart was beating so hard, so fast, that she thought that it would stop right there. Her shivering stopped out of sheer terror, and she couldn't move. Paralyzed, she forced herself to look forward and ask. "Who...?"

Akane felt her heart rate rising. Her eye widened in pure fear, a fear she had not felt in all the years of being an inspector. She whirled around several times in the dark building. It was completely silent, and completely black under the darkness of the night. She couldn't see anything past her Dominator, which had been set as "Lethal Eliminator", as it had detected someone dangerous enough that the Sibyl system had decided that it was better to kill him or her off rather than taking them into custody.

And now she was alone. She had ran into an abandoned, crumbling building in the city, and had lost track of her target. The black setting was choking her, strangling her. She whirled around several times, Where was the criminal? Or, more importantly, where was she? "Where are you...?" She called out, voice shaking.

  “Never a problem.”she turned her head to the side slightly after speaking.

“I might…but before I answer I need to know…Is this apart of your job? To figure this out?”

"Yes, in fact, this is part of my job."

"Please answer the question."

The small laugh was a bit irritable to hear, but it was honestly not a new thing to him. It was a usual occurrence for the police to either be horribly pissed by these matters or to have fun with the whole affair. This officer had obviously been one of the two; a stereotype he had grown to be accustomed to. Now was the moment to wonder what she might do next. Meeting her gaze yet again, hazel against brown, he listened to her speak. Thinking for a moment he mumbled. “Well those times hadn’t necessarily been the greatest..” As in, those were not for the reason of helping some lady he hadn’t known.

Akane continued to run through the reports filed under "Yata Misaki". She found a recurring pattern, and decided to inquire him about it. She raised her eyebrows and blinked slowly. "It looks like you're closely associated with one man in particular?" She raised an eyebrow. Her smile widened. "Who's this 'Fushimi Saruhiko' friend of yours, eh?" The majority of trouble he had seemed to have gotten in were related to this person. Who was it? A sworn enemy? A good friend?

Hibari nodded his head almost skeptically. Almost. It was rare that he be offered the passenger seat and, though he didn’t mind, he had to admit that it was a bit of a quizzicality. He still got in, though, making sure to buckle up.

“Thank you,” he said (or was it repeated?), the words somewhat foreign to him. “You’re… a very kind person.”

He had no idea what to say, but at the same time, he felt strongly that he shouldn’t leave them to sit in silence. But… “I’m sorry, am I causing you some sort of painful feeling? You seem to be avoiding looking at me.”

She started the engine, smiling at his thanks. She shook her head as if saying, "No. It's not a problem at all." She still felt a little stiff, but she was hoping she would be able to relax in due time.

His question caught her off guard. She felt her body jerk as her eyes widened. She felt a lump growing in her throat, her chest tightening. She blinked a few times and exhaled slowly. She turned her head in his direction, eyes still averting his gaze. "What makes you say that?" She asked, unsure of just what she wanted to accomplish.

Hibari almost smiled when the woman commented on animals. Sometimes, they almost seem better, he thought, though of course he wouldn’t voice it.

When she turned, though, he paused for a moment. He was partially stunned by those eyes with that face. She reminded him of someone. Nodding, he followed her.

She led him to her car, silently. She couldn't bring herself to face him, for some reason. That face, that aura, that loneliness he lived in - why was it so similar to Kougami? It hurt to even look at him, although she wanted to be with him for as long as possible.

But she understood that the moment they arrived at his home, it would all be over. The presence she had been searching for for five long years would disappear once again. She was sure that nothing would ever return to the way it used to be at this point. She clicked a button on her keys and watched as the car flickered, unlocking the doors. She opened the passenger seat and offered it to him. She wasn't sure if he would really want to sit next to her or not, but she would take the chance.

"Here, let's get going." She smiled.
