The Gamer and The Athlete
Timeline: Third Selection
Part 1 HEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEE
Hiori was currently in the practice range, dragged in by a certain boy. Rin itoshi, his ‘friend’ he made during the first selection of blue lock.
Rin had been eyeing him ever since he entered in with his team. Likely because Hiori was the only one who Rin hung out with. During their time, Hiori slowly. VERY slowly, chiseled at rin’s walls.
He learned that Rin, much like himself, was a horror fanatic. Games, Movies, Shows, Books, anything horror the two of them obsessed with and they had relatively the same opinion on the majority of topics when it came to horror.
Their love for the subject made them grow closer, although Rin would absolutely never admit it or even allude to it, Hiori could practically see the tsundere carved into rin’s nervous system.
Rins harsh and venomous voice slapped him out of his trance. Currently, the both of them were taking a break, sitting down and chugging some water as Rin, surprisingly, talked about a horror flick.
Rin himself, thought Hiori was the weirdest boy he’d ever met. Hiori wasn’t in his category’s he made for people, which were ‘Im gonna kill you’ ‘Lukewarm’ or ‘I despise you with every atom of my being’.
Hiori didn’t even fit in his ‘Lukewarm’ category, he just.. existed without annoying him. At first, he was annoyed by him, but then as he kept coming back, he was less and less annoying.
Rin: The kills were pathetic, ontop of the lukewarm and obvious ‘reveal’ of the killer.
Hiori: Yeah. A horrible prequel. Almost as bad as that scream tv show no one talks about.
Rin: Oh my god that fucking show…
Rin genuinely felt like a vein was about to pop inside him. Hiori giggled at his reaction, and Rin turned enough to see his face. The smooth and clear skin that almost glowed in the fields’ lights.
How his body changed when he giggled, a fist close to his mouth, eyes closed and his eyebrows turned upwards, a small blush on his cheeks. Rin couldn’t help but stare in wonder and curiosity, WHAT was Hiori? Why is this random kid from Team Z making him stare and think such things?
It felt warm.. TOO warm. So much so it was… disgusting. Yet for some reason, his body refused to cooperate with his thoughts. He wanted to move away, he WANTED to tell Hiori to fuck off.. yet he didn’t. His body refused his minds commands.
Hiori: Sorry… I just remembered how horrible that show was.
Rin: That made you laugh?
Hiori: Well, yeah. You don’t?
Hiori: Haha, typical rin~
There it is again, that damned laugh. Hiori patted his hand against Rins shoulder, who shuddered at the touch. The cool temperature of his hand, along with the softness of his skin drove Rin crazy.
Rin looked at his face, his pretty eyes closed, his face was the perfect amount of roundness, his skin clear and smooth, His face is probably squishy as well.
Rin clenched his eyes shut and looked away. these lukewarm thoughts were so fucking distracting. So god damn unnecessary. So fucking pathetic, as if these lukewarm thoughts could make him strong enough to crush SAE—!
Hiori’s calm and soft voice managed to bring Rin out of his spiraling thoughts. Rin looked at Hiori, staring at his pretty eyes that were now open.
Rin: Sorry. I was internally vomiting after remembering that show.
Rins eyes widened, he felt a blush creeping onto his face. His ears already red and his mouth trembling with… embarrassment? It was an emotion Rin was unfamiliar with, or one he had long forgotten. Nonetheless Hiori, ever the nice guy he is, patted rins back sympathetically.
Hiori: Don’t worry Rin. I won’t tell anyone
Rin felt his heart pound faster every couple of seconds. Disgusting, pathetic, and filthy. This feeling was disgusting, Rin was pathetic for falling for it, and it was a filthy addiction he had to it.
One he genuinely couldn’t control or ignore, it was something that’ll be forever present in his worthless life. Rin cursed under his breath, he was still staring at Hiori, he couldn’t look away no matter what his brain commanded his body to do.
Rin: We should be practicing right now.
Hiori: Huh? But we won already. Plus, aren’t you having fun talking?
No. Rin doesn’t have ‘Fun’ he practices. He kicks soccer balls until his fucking leg falls off and his lungs shrivel up from a lack of oxygen! Rin Itoshi does. Not. Have. Fun.
But his useless pathetic excuse of a brain says something else. Hiori smiles and giggles again, his ears tickle at that sound, any fucking thing Hiori does makes his body tickle.
Hiori is dangerous, too fucking dangerous. He needed to get away from him, he needed to curse him out, to punch him, do SOMETHING to push Hiori away. But he does nothing. What Sae said was true, Rin was truly pathetic. So pathetic he didn’t have the power to push away one very dangerous, very distracting boy.
Hiori: I’m glad~ I’m having fun too. You make blue lock more bearable rinnie~
Rin shivers at the nickname. His blush now very visible. Hiori notices and places a hand over his mouth, covering a smile.
He thinks to himself as he watches Rin unravel from the simple nickname. Honestly hiori took a massive leap of faith when he called him Rinnie. He was surprised rin didn’t break his jaw, but also grateful. DEFINITELY grateful.
Hiori: Well, it’s probably time for us to leave. Ego keeps a strict schedule after all. See ya, rinnie~
He stands up and stretches. Waving ‘bye’ to rin before walking away. Rin stared at Hiori, watching his legs carry him away from him, and all Rin could think was ‘Please don’t leave me. Don’t leave me like Sae did’ yet, even though that was the one thing he WANTED to say, he couldn’t.
Rin, was truly and utterly, pathetic.
With Hiori, who left the practice field and immediately slammed his back against the door, flopping down onto his ass and covering his face with his hands
His face was a glowing red of embarrassment. His mind replaying a word in his head ‘Cute’ he had called Rin cute, and although Rin didn’t kill him for calling him rinnie, his mind was killing him juuuuuuust perfectly.
Hiori’s mind was overanalyzing ever interaction he had with Rin since first selection. Every small twitch of rin’s muscles, every embarrassed eye twitch, every time rin’s face dusted itself with a pinkish red hue.
Hiori: Shit… does he loves me…? Holy shit he loves me too!!
His realization of gold only increased the brightness of his blush. It could illuminate space, he was blushing so hard.
It only made since right? Rin Itoshi was practically a bloodthirsty demon towards anyone who even breathed in his vicinity, yet when it comes to Hiori, he was like a normal highschool boy.
Hiori breathed heavily, trying to calm himself down as he shakily stood up. Surely he was mistaken right? This was some.. crush misunderstanding? Something like that right?
The cyan haired boy, and now redfaced boy, decided to go overthink his love in the privacy of his room.
