Robin wasn’t normally one to sleep in, even on her days off she didn’t really sleep in, it was just something that she never really could seem to do, wanting to get the most out of her day, that’s why when she woke up and looked at her clock she realized that she was late for shift, or at least she should have been, her combadge hadn’t even chirped to life to ensure she was alright. Hurrying into her uniform and then quickly stepping into the corridor of the Enterprise she quickly found another strange sight, she couldn’t hear or see anyone, even though the corridor was normally one of the busiest on the ship. As Robin continued to wander around the apparently deserted ship she was starting to get worried. Eventually after about thirty minutes of searching for anyone and not finding anybody she was about to give up hope when she heard footfalls which soon she soon found out the only other person that she had seen since her strange da had begun, Commander Data.
“Commander, aren’t I glad to see you, I can’t find anyone anywhere, even in main Engineering.” She stated, a hinted ton of worry in her voice. She had no idea what was going on but was at least glad that she wasn’t alone anymore.
it didn’t seem as if anyone was on the ship. first thought that came to mind was if this was Q’s doing. it wasn’t beyond Q to pop in and cause chaos for the sake of causing it. it was in fact unlike Q to make an appearance. But Data had searched the bridge and all over the ship and it seemed as if the ship was deserted. without more Data, there was no hypothesis to be made. he held no answered but at least he had come across someone else. so it wasn’t entirely deserted.
❝ we will have to continue the search to see if we can find others. it is likely that you and I are the only one’s here. however we cannot run an entire starship with simply the two of us. not without help from the computer. ❞ a skeleton crew was fine, but simply the two of them was out of the question.
❝ we shall maintain contact at all times via our comm badge if we must split up. ❞
Robin had an uneasy feeling about the ship being this deserted, there were a million possibilities running through her head, had the crew been taken hostage? Had they been transported to another ship? No matter what it was her duty as a Starfleet officer to keep her cool and help control the situation.
“Commander if I may suggest, we go over each area that we have searched already, to make things easier for locating anyone that might be left on the ship.” Robin suggested. She listened to Data’s explanation and he was right the two of them wouldn’t be able to run the entire ship by themselves.

Robin wasn’t normally one to be assigned to an away team. There was hardly ever a reason for he to be assigned to an away team but everyone gets their chance at some point apparently and now was Robin’s turn. It should have been a simple mission to fix a relay on what was supposed to be an uninhabited M class planet, which quickly turned to somehow everyone being split apart and communications being down. As the young ensign tried finding her way back to the relay, where hopefully the Enterprise would send a shuttle to pick them up she ended up stumbling upon a small figure.
“Hello? I’m Ensign Lefler with the Federation Starship Enterprise. Are you lost? Are you hurt?” She inquired, looking at the individual curiously, she’d never seen this species before and wondered if she was making first contact.
As Liae, the ship’s A.I., told her that another intelligent life form had entered this planet, Perrine wanted to have a closer look at it. After spending quite a long time all alone, this was a welcome change. Sure, she had D.O.T., but the spherical robot just wasn’t a living being.
The fact, that those people were from the Federation, made it more interesting. So, maybe those relays belonged to them? Perrine was too lazy to wonder about that, just came here to restock water and some food in form of fish and other seafood.
Humming quietly and staring at her multi-device, the small alien searched for the closest of those guys, finding one pretty soon. She was so busy with this, didn’t realize that the.. Terran – ? – was closer than expected. Oops!
“Uhh, um..” Perrine stuttered surprised, tilting her head back.
“I- I’m neither hurt nor lost.. are you?”
Robin looked at her curiously, she wasn’t a scientist but she was still interested in other alien species, especially one that may or may not have been contacted by the Federation already. The answer to her question actually somewhat surprised Robin, then there was the question on if she was lost or not. Robin chuckled and then rubbed the back of her neck. “No I’m not lost, not technically I just have to get back to where my crew and I landed. I was just curious about you because this planet was supposed to be uninhabited, I wasn’t expecting to come in contact with another intelligent lifeform.”
“Say I have to ask you I’m not familiar with your species, has your species been contacted by the Federation before?” Robin asked, kneeling down to get on a better level with the alien. She soon realized that she hadn’t introduced herself. “I’m Ensign Robin Lefler of the Federation Starship Enterprise, it’s certainly a welcome surprise to meet you.” She introduced.

Emergencies, at times, bought a certain sense of peace. There was usually a correct path forward — Aella’s became evident to her upon her ensign’s immediate words. “Cutting speed to half,” she said, and doing so as she spoke — in silence, she awaited for the ensign’s further update, which came sooner than she truly expected.
Beam away immediately? It was truly horrifying how one thing could go wrong and cause such an effect — their imminent death, at a simple nacelle failure. But such thoughts could be thought in plenty later; for now, she must save them.
“Shuttle Wayward to Enterprise. We request an emergency transporter beam due to ionic radiation from a nacelle failure. Lock tractor beams on our shuttlecraft once we’ve transported away.”
“Copy that, lieutenant. On your mark.”
She stood — took a glance at the ensign to make sure she was ready, before signaling, “Energize.”
Robin hadn’t anticipated that there would be such a big problem or her estimations of the problem would be worse than she thought. Seven minutes should have been what a normal incident like this would be a danger with but then again this wasn’t normal in the least and that became obvious when they beamed away. As the transporter took them away Robin felt the hairs on the back of her neck stand and then he heat of the explosion from heir shuttlecraft.
Robin had become accustomed to the transporter beam, she was an engineer, she had to be in case she had to work on it or operate it. Under normal circumstances it should at least feel instantaneous for the person being transported, which it definitely didn’t, it could be because of the intense stress or something else entirely but she would soon find out whenever they got back aboard the Enterprise. Finally the pair seemed to materialize in the transporter room, and oh how good it felt to be back aboard the ship. Unfortunately that good feeling wouldn’t last long as she realized how baggy her uniform seemed to be, or how much larger everything seemed now, or even the shocked faces of the crew in the transporter room, which the young ensign wouldn’t realize until she looked over at Aella, and saw a kid staring back at her and from the similar height, Robin could only assume that she appeared the same way as the lieutenant.

“Subspace frequencies– it lets them really tear into the entity. Our phasers remained on stun even with your alterations, but the Romulan device seems to have been belt to continuously and rapidly send out waves to bombard it.”
Clark looked over to the Romulans. Their presence in this sector was suspicious enough. And he had his own concerns that the Romulans might have actually captured the entity and intended to direct it as a secret weapon. But without enough to offer up, Starfleet and its allies like the Klingon Defense Force couldn’t make a case against the Romulan presence.
“Let’s just focus on powering this thing down and locking it up. All we can do for the Romulans is to get them to the outpost until we can hear from Starfleet command and the Romulan empire.”
But as Clark moved to disarm the weapon of its power cells, one of the Romulan officers– run ragged by his time here, lunged at Clark with a roar of ‘NO!’ and they went out of the mouth of the cavern with the barrel of the wave cannon setup in tow. Not far off was the entity from earlier, which had been searching for the source of the attacks upon it.
“These Federation dogs will get us all killed!” thundered the Romulan officer. “ Fight them off, fire the weapon– I’ll finish this creature off once and for all!”
Clark threw his own strikes in an attempt to delay the officer’s mad effort. A science officer of the Romulans was making for a small console attached to the cannon, trying to input new targeting parameters as the remaining members of the Romulan crew set upon anyone in their way with their fists.
Robin wasn’t too concerned with the Romulans. That being said she just wanted to go back to the Enterprise and get her leg fully treated from the break. Robin knew that they needed to bring the Romulans to the Enterprise and placed in the brig until they got to the nearest station, unfortunately they weren’t getting any signal on their combadges.
“Already on it, I just don’t know where to start thing piece is cobbled together and meant to stay on no matter what. this might take more than mine and your engineering prowess Clark.”
Robin watched as Clark and the Romulan started fighting each other as the Starfleet security detail tried to deal with the new uprising, nobody else paying attention to the Romulan science officer who was trying to start the canon again. Robin started making her way to him, before she started throwing fists at him, managing to make contact with the Romulan’s face. The young ensign then became entangled in her own battle between the Romulan. Eventually the Starfleet managed to get the upper hand and subdue all the Romulans again. After the fact Robin had more cuts and scrapes and a black eye from her fistfight with the Science officer who happened to have quite a heavy punch.

Robin gazed towards Aella with a slight smile. it seemed at first that she didn’t want to talk but finally after what seemed like an impossibly long line of silence the question was posed as to what her law number six.
“Well Lieutenant, its not a law per se. Every time I learn something new I make a law about it for me to remember. I currently have one hundred and seven different laws.” She told the other officer, looking back to the console.
Everything on the console looked good but shortly thereafter she saw something that had no explanation. “Lieutenant, I’ll be back my console is showing me that the starboard nacelle is experiencing high levels of ionic drift and it shouldn’t be. I believe we might’ve hit a small pocket of radiation or something.” She deduced, getting up from her seat. Worst comes to worst they were almost within transporter range.
It wasn’t law, and yet it was a law, and she had a hundred and seven different ones. Aella blinked at her, somewhat stutteringly. It sounded more like notes, but she supposed they held neither the same weight nor intrigue that a law might. There were a plethora of questions that grew from that, but all were cut short as the ensign began to rise.
Ionic drift? Ensign Lefler may have been steady, but there was a touch of panic within Aella at the consideration. She was the superior officer here, meaning… anything that went wrong would be ultimately her responsibility.
“Shall I slow our speed, ensign?”
Robin wasn’t too worried yet. there could be millions of explanations and the radiation wasn’t bad, not yet at least but it was rising, which if didn’t get fixed then would be a major problem and potentially deadly, though she had to keep her cool.
“Lieutenant, I suggest cutting speed down in half, that should stop levels from rising or at least rising to dangerous levels. It may just be a couple couplers that need to be fixed after being overloaded.” She spoke, giving her best case scenario, worst case scenario they were already dying. Making her way to the nacelle she opened up a panel to see that whatever happened to it, wrecked havoc on it and there was almost no way to save it from overloading.
“Lieutenant, we need to beam away immediately, there’s nothing I can do to fix the nacelle while on board and I fear that it could release enough ionic radiation to kill us in minutes. The Enterprise can pull it in and do repairs on it once we beam away.” She suggested. “My estimation has it overloading in approximately seven minutes and any increase of speed only lowering that amount of time.”

“I don’t think that’s too uncommon, might have to make note of it but that doesn’t help with the entity.” She paused, thinking for a moment. She wasn’t a navigator and couldn’t decide what it meant for ships to divert from usual courses, there could be a multitude of factors.
“Well that does sound unsettling. I’ve never heard of this organization but they don’t sound good and if they’re sending messages about Romulans then they might have something to do with the creature’s nature and it’s more unusual properties. Or we could be overthinking and the obvious answer is evading us. The creature could just be threatened by our presence and fighting back.”
There could be a multitude of factors but they weren’t here for that, they needed to get the relay back up and beam off the planet before they got hurt or got more people killed in the process. This situation was more than they prepared for and if they were dealing with more than just a single creature they needed to get going quickly. Hearing Clark mention the fact that the Romulans trying to sabotage the relay made sense, they never had a good history with the Federation and they could be trying to provoke something.
Soon they started their repairs with success and only a few minor hiccups here and there. After they had finished getting it back up and stable Robin got an actual splint on her leg, to take care until she was beamed back aboard the Enterprise. then shortly thereafter most of the crew it beamed back besides Robin and Clark. “Well you’ll get the chance to do your search I got permission for us and a few security officers to stay another few hours but you owe me one for that, it wasn’t easy you know.”
“You’ve trusted me this far. First tourist attraction we run into after this, I’ll get you a souvenir.”
Clark nodded to Robin, thankful she had gotten him the assistance after everything. He was going to make it count for as much as he possibly could. Now that they were in a better state to look around for the source of those strange waves that pursued the attacking entity, they were certain to find a trail. It eventually lead them to the mouth of a cavern.
Clark had insisted on it– he and a couple of security officers had sworn they caught a glint of metal, reminded them of a sniper’s nest. As they made their way towards the entrance of the cave, the green waves from before burst out– everyone had to dive for cover before it was too late. Ahead: A disheveled crew of Romulans were firing.
“It’s a trick! No one could know we were here–” cried a Romulan “Fire before that thing kills us all!”
Clark scrambled for his phaser, returning fire. Just enough that he could force them to evacuate their secret weapon, and the new away team could start to question them.
“What kind of a device is this? It looks like you’ve rigged up disruptors to a comms unit.”
One of the Romulans scoffed.
“If you had crash-landed too you’d be thankful for that thing. It was our only defense against that entity. It snuck aboard our warbird and wreaked undue havoc!”
“Defense? It’s torn up the outpost! You’ve only frenzied it.” chimed in a security officer. “And just what the hell do you think you’re doing in this sector?”
“We were merely on a route of trade, making sure our convoys were unharmed by roving Klingons. Things went bad. Paranoia is unbecoming of a Federation member, you know.”
Tensions were high as the security team kept watch in the event the Romulans tried for their own weapons. Clark nodded to Robin to help him disarm the Romulan secret weapon. It was actually an improvised device they had managed to put together after landing.
“That thing might make another pass at us, but I want to see if it relaxes now that the wave-generator weapon is offline. I imagine it’ll have to stay here for a while until anyone can figure out where it really came from…”
“Well I’ll hold you to that whenever we get shore leave, and I have a good memory Clark.”
She had put a lot on the line to actually be able to get the extra hours so she hoped that it would pay off. Eventually leading them to a cavern which intrigued Robin, but not more than what they’d find inside of it, which soon led them into a firefight with the disorganized Romulans taking shelter inside of the cave.
Eventually they had managed to get the Romulans away from their weapon which intrigued Robin enough on it’s own. It was a crude design, something obviously made with spare parts and some knowhow in engineering. She listened as to how they had gotten on this planet and more importantly how this creature had gotten to the planet. That surely would explain the recent troubles that they were having and why it hadn’t happened beforehand.
As the security team kept watch of the Romulans, though not detaining them, they hadn’t directly sabotaged an Federation equipment or broken any treaties they could find, plus the document from that strange Section 31, Robin continued to examine the weapon. After they managed to disarm it she’d have it beamed up to Engineering to be examined by better eyes than her own.
“Hopefully it’ll be mellow enough to not attack the outpost again but we can’t just leave the Romulans here we have to do something, I just don’t know what.” She sighed before turning back to the weapon. “Whoever made this happened to be really crafty I give them props. I would have never thought of creating a weapon by connecting some disruptors to a comm unit. We need to bring this back to the Enterprise, do some tests on it.”
Time Traveling shenanigans/Open for anyone
Robin had decided to stay late in engineering to finalize some projects before disembarking. The Enterprise was docked for some light repairs and scheduled maintenance and most of the crew had left before the repair teams could come on board, leaving the ship uncharacteristically quiet, though the ensign didn’t mind one bit. As she sat at a console looking at different models for her hypothesis she heard a strange noise coming from another collogues project. Standing up to go investigate she inspected the thing. She didn’t know what it was supposed to be used for but she wasn’t worried about its use on the high pitched alarm and flashing red light. hearing the door open she turned to whoever had entered before yelling at them to hit the deck. Just as both of them did it exploded into a flash of blinding light.
Upon getting up Robin quickly realized they weren’t in Engineering for the USS Enterprise, at least not the USS Enterprise-D, the technology was far too early for it to be anything close. As robin looked around her eyes fell upon the other person who had entered Engineering. Robin quickly moved towards them before rousing them awake. “Hey, we have a huge problem.” She spoke as they came to.
Anyone want to do an RP where Robin and your muse get stranded in a time travel situation and have to figure out how to get back?

“ No you’re not downplaying my idea, we deserve a discussion. Technically we are intruding on the entities land and shouldn’t kill it. But it has already vaporized multiple Starfleet officers.” She noted.
It was a decision she didn’t take lightly, but one only she could make as the next in command of the away team. As clark got to work on figuring it out with the rest of the outpost, Robin got to work on upgrading their phasers. The power output going into the new ones was a dangerously unstable level. And with one small mistake it’d blow up in her face.
“Clark, what did you find out from the outpost so far? Anything that could possibly help us or anything that could explain what this thing was, especially seeing as this was supposed to be uninhabited, even by fauna.”
Robin handed the phasers back out to the officers present, giving each the same warning, only use the stun setting, one to not kill the entity, just frighten it and two because the kill setting could prove catastrophic. Watching the others hit the creature and make it back off, even for a little bit.
“Okay I need two team, one to continue to fix the array and one to provide support and security if and when the entity decides to return. We still have a job to do and despite our losses we have to get this array up.” She encouraged.
She soon started shuffling through reports and logs of the array herself before finding an interesting file, hidden intentionally deep in the reports.
“Raut come here for a second.” She commented waiting until he came. “Have you heard of this group, Section 31? This report is from them to and engineer about possible hostile Romulans in the area and to ‘not start a war’ with them. Are they a part of Starfleet Intelligence? Why would we start a war with them, we aren’t on the best of terms but there’s at least peace with them.” She asked in a hushed voice as to not alert anyone.
“The outpost didn’t have anything on the entity, just basics like their usual readings of the weather, daily ops schedules… but the local interstellar traffic log they maintained has been a point of interest for me. Certain ships haven’t followed the usual routes and their trajectory wasn’t able to be recorded properly.”
Clark joined Lefler for a moment, pondering on what she said.
“I’ve got some hazy memories: Some Starfleet officials ran some interviews on select members of the Wishbone crew. I vaguely remember being one of the crew confined to quarters– and I had to order meals from the security guard they posted at my door. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I can’t determine whether what else I saw of them was a dream or not. Black suits and talks of going beyond Federation rules. It was unnerving.”
Then he paused to think about the Romulans.
“Well. Don’t forget: Romulus has the Tal Shiar. Even the most esteemed of planets, by empire or galactic alliance will have elements that put their faith in proactive action rather than the here and now like sensible people. And the frightening thing is they have the power to act on their paranoia, agitate everyone else so we’re all frightened of each other and our own shadows. If I had to wager a guess, if that report correlates with the traffic logs of the outpost… then the Romulans might have tried to sabotage the comms center. Or they would have if the entity wasn’t doing it for them. And likely to them.”
Clark double-checked the imagery he took with his semi-visor. And then he prepared his phaser as per Robin’s specifications, and got ready.
“I’ll head up defenses if you want to continue repairs. Once the greater outpost’s lockdown has ended they can get a medical officer out here. As soon as things are stable here though, I want to search for the source of those man-made waves.”
“I don’t think that’s too uncommon, might have to make note of it but that doesn’t help with the entity.” She paused, thinking for a moment. She wasn’t a navigator and couldn’t decide what it meant for ships to divert from usual courses, there could be a multitude of factors.

Guys I do just wanna say, Lefler in TOS Red:
ensignlefler
Robin winced in pain as she got into the safety of the building, though how safe it actually was she had no idea. As they secured and locked down the building and in turn the facility she had to be told multiple times to sit down and let the others take care of it. After they had finished locking down she had to bite her lip as they treated her injury. As the were splinting it up she screamed out in pain, her leg was definitely broken.
“I’m not taking anything derived from this god forsaken planet. I’ll make it to when we get back to the Enterprise, the should be able to send some more security officers down or something.”
It was wishful thinking but if they didn’t have an idea on the creature how could the security officers hope to fight it, standard phasers didn’t even work on it. Robin winced in pain as she tried to stand up again. Of everything to happen she had to break her leg.
On the Enterprise, Data was trying to go through everything that it could possibly be from the short amount of communicator feedback that had come through before going dark. The only thing they could be sure about was that they’d probably have to up the phaser power to take it down.
“Good maybe it went away and will let us get out of here safely.” She commented, limping her way next to Clark to look out the window. “We can’t just stay in here until it comes back and tears down this building. I have an idea, I’m going to need a few isometric couplers and my tools. I think I can amplify our phasers to release an output that if enough of us use it could take down the entity.” It was the only idea she had and she didn’t even know if it would work, but that was part of being in Engineering, you got to learn.
“Not a bad idea…” said Clark.
“I’ll feel a lot better once it’s out of here, that’s for sure!” said one of the others. But Clark looked uneasy about the whole thing.
“I don’t mean to downplay your idea, and I know it attacked us, and if it comes down to it we should neutralize it before it harms us directly… but I feel as though whatever those waves trailing it are, it’s agitating the entity. It seemed to be focusing on the relay gear as opposed to us.”
“You’re nuts, Raut– Here, Lefler. The couplers you wanted.”
Clark sighed. He could only offer over his phaser. He trusted Robin, and their lives were on the line. But this was the time when their actions as Starfleet officers mattered most, he felt. The conflict within himself was varied– his Vulcan teachings keeping him level, his Klingon exercises demanding he take action immediately. And far in the back of his mind, memorized Federation ideals. Good will towards life. Not just when it was convenient, but when negotiation or other efforts were necessary.
“All I’m saying is maybe there’s something here we’re not factoring for. I’m going to consult with the outpost– our local comms still seem functional enough for that. But as soon as we’re ready, I can follow the entity’s trail with my lenses.”
Clark stepped aside to put in a call to the outpost. He mostly drilled them on daily activities, observations… but then he did pause to ask about starship traffic in this region of space. Seemed ordinary enough, but he did hone in and ask about any odd behaviors on the part of any cultures that didn’t normally pass through here. Pirates, or political opponents of the Federation, the Klingon Empire, and so forth. Noteworthy was a particularly odd bit of interference: One that suggested a cloaked vessel. Rogue Klingons? Romulans? Someone else?
Without anything concrete just yet, Clark could only hope they might resolve this more carefully. Once re-armed, the engineers fired a couple volleys at the entity, proving Lefler’s adjustments were just what they needed to even the odds. The entity retreated, allowing the away team to escape…
" No you're not downplaying my idea, we deserve a discussion. Technically we are intruding on the entities land and shouldn't kill it. But it has already vaporized multiple Starfleet officers." She noted.
