But we both know that isn’t why you came here, is it? No, no, no... You’re here for the real reason, the crown jewel of this little soiree: the Trancy Family Ledger.
What’s with all those stone cold faces, it’s a party don’t act all worried now~. As if this harmless old book could do anything to you. But we all know better, don’t we? Inside this little treasure are secrets—your secrets—that could unravel the very fabric of noble society.
But! You didn’t think I’d just hand it over, did you? Oh no, no fun in that. You’ll have to earn it. Somewhere in this room is the Mystery Guest, and only by finding them will you win this precious prize. Fail... and, well— I had a kick watching it unravel regardless~! Go on now, let the games begin!
Each guest is handed a mask with a symbol corresponding to their secret role. The goal is to uncover the identity of Alois’s “Mystery Guest,” who holds the key to the Trancy Family Ledger. All players will work toward figuring out the Mystery Guest's identity while also completing individual objectives based on their role.
Objective: Mislead others and plant false accusations about the Mystery Guest’s identity.
Ability: Can swap masks with another guest once during the night, causing confusion about who they are.
Objective: Eavesdrop and gather secrets about others to find out the Mystery Guest’s true identity.
Ability: Can listen in on two conversations per round, gaining potential clues.
Objective: Protect a chosen guest (possibly someone with valuable clues) from being sabotaged.
Ability: Shield a guest from any harmful effects or role abilities once per round.
Objective: Disrupt the investigation and cause players to lose progress on their hunt for the Mystery Guest.
Ability: Can force a player to discard a clue once per round, derailing their efforts.
Objective: Uses logic and observation to deduce the Mystery Guest’s identity.
Ability: Once per game, can privately ask Alois for a clue about the Mystery Guest, but the clue will be cryptic.
The game is divided into 5 rounds, with each round representing a different phase of the masquerade ball (e.g., introduction, dancing, dining, etc.). At the beginning of each round, players can interact, gather clues, and use their role abilities.
Players may begin interacting in-character, gathering early information, and using their abilities to mislead or protect! This week until Halloween day you will be given clues by Alois until a guest has successfully revealed who’s the mystery guest in character! Remember only do so to characters or muns who’s okay with it and in the ball event~!
