Notes From The Ocean

Nearly everything shifts endlessly.

It’s not earth, but more like an ocean around me. Despite the regular patterns on the surface, the floor way beneath is different as I drift each day.

And that’s how life has been. While I know I must be going somewhere, the changes are unseen, and the empty scenery gets boring.

Some things, however, don’t get old;

The sky being blue,

Seeing a beautiful face,

Moving to a groove,

Driving,

Stretching,

Getting food with friends,

Turquoise water,

Discovering a new artist...

I’ve remained in love with them all.

Over time, the weather washing away so many things from my life has revealed a precious few that remain, and they are like a gentle beach emerging from nothing. And the ability to enjoy anything at all has been The Rock the beach is on...the beach my raft is on, and where my hammock is.

'A person can do nothing better than to eat and drink and find satisfaction in their own toil. This too, I see, is from the hand of God, for without him, who can eat or find enjoyment? ' Ecclesiastes 2:24-25
