The cornacopia was silent, teh tributes from teh districts tensed, and Eusine could hear his breathing in his ear. Slow, heated and afraid that the slightest noise might keep him from hearing the siren go off. His blue eyes darted to the left, and then the right, before focusing back on what was infront of him.
The clock counted down.

Focus, focus on what you were good at; is what he told himself. He had to think logically to get out of this alive, and to help Morty through as much as he could. And as his fellow district partner and friend passed through his mind, he had to wonder. Where was he?

There was no time to think any more. The faint sound started, and the tributes started their advances. In a rush of adrennelin, Eusine pushed himsef forward into a run straight for the middle of the area, aiming for the backpack he found.
‘That’ll work perfectly!’ he thought rather proud of himself. However, before he could get close enough to grab it, he slid to a stop as two of the children went down on the ground, the one- just his age and blond hair, began to viciously stab the younger.
In, out- he could only watch in horror as the knife slid in and out, causing blood to pool around them both. Eusine made a gasp, and the assilant looked up with a wild look in her eye. “OH, YOU WANT SOME TOO?” Though before sh ecould get up, Eusine turned quick and left the backpack behind as he began to run into the forest surrounding them. He couldn’t do this- there was no way..
All around him there were screams, both of triumph and of pain- dying. Everything began to slow down, time seemed to stop as his feet hit the forest floor. He had to run- he needed to get out of here- !!
Eusine crashed into another person, falling to the ground and turning with a panicked look in his eyes. Did he- were they going to attack him?
Morty waited outside the door after the first set of knocks, rocking back and forth on the balls of his feet. He could have just entered unannounced but the thought that perhaps Eusine would like some time to make himself look presentable made him wait. If he knew one of his closest friend like he did, then he would want to make himself look better in hopes of alleviating his worry. After a moment, he figured that Eusine was still asleep so he head back into the kitchen, letting his friend get the rest he needed when he heard a loud thump from the guest room, making him run back to the door.
“Eusine, are you alright in there?” He called out, a hint of panic lacing his tone as he gave the door a few more knocks.
Not being able to do anything about this- it sucked.
Normally, he’d be able to put it better, he’d say it in such a way that it would almost sound intelligent or poetic. But right now, under the watchful eye of the ghost pokemon that followed the blond around, and under the fever that seemed to catch on so quickly, the brunnette couldn’t find the words. Nothing better than “this sucked.”
After the embressment, he found himself back on the bed, sitting at the edge while Morty went to get the soup. And though he didn’t very much enjoy the position, he didn’t dare take out the thermometer that Morty had given him.
‘It almost feels like..’ his thoughts drifted a moment, to his mother. Recalling a very distant and painful memory, it was when he was sick with a fever. He cried and cried, hating the feeling of being so hot. And when she had finally come, she’d give him a thermometer and stayed with him until he fell asleep.
He jolted, startled when the door opened once more to reveal Morty. The food at least smelled good, and with his permission, Eusine was able to remove the device from his mouth in order to accept the food he was given.
Though, he still felt a pang of guilt- or sadness that came with the memory of his mother. Especially when Morty joined him on the bed. “Thank you, mon cheri...I don’t know what I’d do without you..”
Cerulean eyes cast down to the bowl on hsi lap, and instead of first eating it, he sighed. “I don’t...honestly know what I would do had we not been friends. His voice was quiet, and he continued.
“Even though I leave you- I won’t call for days, and yet..I still have you in my life..You...you won’t leave me..”
There's been a fire at the Ecruteak Gym and... the Gym Leader didn't make it out.
“What...do you mean there was a fire?” The information takes longer to process, the realization of the seriousness and the event, crushing him all at once. He fell to his knees heavily, staring at the ground.
( Hey yo just remining everyone my wifi is still working, while I work on Elesa, replies, and chill feel free to send Lance or Eusine questions or whatever you want o vo )
Morty snorted at that, shaking his head slightly in exasperation. Of course he insisted, especially when there was a real chance of his friend catching pneumonia. Even if that wasn’t the case, Eusine was always welcomed here, no matter how sporadic his visits could be. The brunette was one of the first people who befriended a small lonely child, offering him a sense of warmth unlike any he had ever felt before. That meant the world to Morty back then, so he supported Eusine in any way he could now.
Of course, it was a bit hard, what with the man chasing after Suicune most of the time, but he was grateful with what he had.
Sitting down on the bed, and Morty’s cold hand had seemed weirdly comforting to the brunette. Not that Morty wasnt comforting to begin with- but it was soothing almost. He managed a small smile before Morty left, hoping it ws a comforting one. Outside, he may have looked the part, but inside he was panicking.
How long had he been out there anyway? He shouldhave been back home hours agopossibly- work needed to be done, adn here he was in Morty’s house, in his guest bed room and about to eat his soup...
Also about to wear his cloths.
“How embaressing..” he mumbled to himself. To think Morty has to see him like this- as vulnerable as he usually was... carefulnot to over do it, Eusine slowly put the large sweater and pants on, his dripping hair becomeing cold around his head, addingto the headache that was now coming along with nausia.
He wondered again, what time of night it was, but at the same time he didn’t really care. He only really wanted to lay down..he felt so tired.
Strangly enough, when he laied down on the bed, the only comfortable position was to lay on his side. His breathing deepened as he fought the sickening feeling, and he couldn’t help but let out a groan.
Surely this would do nothing but trouble Morty..
His thoughts went back to his closest friend. How worried was he..? Seeing Eusine out in the rain like that- for who knew how long.. his face had been surprising when they saw eachother. And then a thought occured to the researcher.
What if I wasn’t following suicune..?
Would I still be here today..? At this moment..?
Cerulean eyes closed, as he thought about the possibility of what he would be doing right now, had he not been after the legendary pokemon. There was no doubt about it- he’d be at home, with his pokemon and possibly Morty...
Morty wouldn’t have to worry.
It was nearly twenty minuets before Eusine woke up, but it felt like it had been hours. The blond called out to him, but Eusine could barely understand it. He felt so hot- perhaps a fever..? He needed to tell Morty..
Eusine attempted to get up, but his knees gave out from exhaustion almost immediately, and it forced him to come down with a loud thump to the ground. Oh no- if he didnt get up...Morty would have to help him up..
He began to feel even more like puking.. especially when he heard running.
“Im- fine..I’m okay I just.. I fell... just please don’t worry-”
Morty noticed the temperature had slowly dropped from mildly cool to uncomfortably nippy in the span of three weeks. Trees that were full of autumn colors had shed its leaves in preparation for the snow that would soon encase the city like a white blanket. Citizens of various ages now wore thick sweaters and scarves when they venture out, looking very much like his usual outfit to be honest. Morty himself put on an extra sweater or two whenever he leave his house, as well as wrapping his scarf tighter around his neck.
Winter was fast approaching Ecruteak City and its signs were everywhere.
There was a chill between crossing the treshold of Morty’s home, and the outside. Of course it might have been from the wind, but given the boy’s clarvoyant abilities and his spooky choice in comapanions, Eusine took it as a slight irratation from the many ghost pokemon that lived with him. “Y-you sure that’s a good idea Morty? - ah! Hey wait!” the towel flew at him, landing on his face and forcing the brunette to scramble just to remove it.
“Why don’t you take a warm shower or bath. But not too hot, or you’ll shock your body.”
Morty was already turned on his heel and gone by the time Eusine could protest, so he sighed almost unwillingly and smiled. “Alright..if you insist..thank you!” Luckily for him, Morty knew what to do..he was always getting him out of these situations, wasn’t he?
Down the hall, on the left was the small bathroom. Of course, it wasn;t anything fancy, but to him it was much better than a makeshift one out in the middle of nowhere. Eusine began to undress from his sopping wet clothes and ran a chilled hand along his slender frame. He began to feel a little warm, though still cold, and his headache had gotten progressivly worse.
Stepping into the warm shower would do him good, but he’d need to find a way to pay back his best friend as well.
It was a whole ten minuets later that the brunnette came out, his skin flush from the small amount of stream and the heat. He dried off, and looked around before realizing- to his horror, that he had no change of cloths. “Ah- oh dear..” Embaressed, Eusine wrapped the plush towel around his midsection and attempted to step out.
“Morty- I ah...you wouldn’t happen to own a spare pair of clothes would y- ACHOO!!” another sneeze ripped it’s way through his nose, managing to cover his face just intime, but not quick enough to stop the pounding in his head from coming back “Ah- and maybe a ice pack..i-if you’ll be so kind..”
He could hear footsteps his eay, so Eusine wrapped the towel tighter and tucked a lock of hair out of his face. “I apologize...all I’m doing is burdening you-” Oh man his head hurt, and the room began to spin a little in his panic. “I’m sorry-”
Rain poured heavily on the brunette, as he tore through the wet grass and bare tree branches. Ecruteak was beautiful in the winter time, and it was that very reason that he found himself back once more. No for his work mind you, no. He had come back for a very different purpose- that is, until it showed up.
The famed Suicune, the object of Eusine’s curiousity and drive for what he ever did. He made an audiable gasp at sseeing the mystical blue dog, it’s purple mane flwoing in the breeze and captivating him.
After a clash of thunder, it turned away and began to run off, breaking the ere seconds they had contact, and the half hour feeling the researcher had. He hadnt even really registered the oncoming storm, the clash of thunder, or the rain that pelted his skin as he chased the pokemon.
“So close- I’m so close..” the thought raced through his mind as he fought to getpassed mroe bare tree branches, the buildings looking the same as they had before, Suicune long gone by now, adn the winds of the north running a completely direction and not as strong as they were before.
He sighed irritably running a hand through his now soaking wet locks. “So close, and yet i was so far. Always one step forward and two back with that one- ACHOO!” he lunged forward, a sneeze ripping through his body and forcing him to realize just how long he had been outside, in the rain and wind.
Right...he was in teh rain.
The researcher oked slightly confused, before being blinded by a light- someone opening teh door..?
That voice, and the infamous blond hair, no there was no mistaking Morty, even through the sudden haze that his brain was. Eusine siled an attempted to explin the excitment he felt before, only to sneeze once again and hold his head in return. “I was...well...” What did it really look like? Him standing in the rain soaked to the bone and only catching a cold rather than Suicune.
Goldenrod held such a brilliance, it was impossible to match.
Blue eyes scane the streets before him, too long had it been since his last arrival in the city, and too long had it been, since he had seen the people of Johto he had come to love. The brushed by, some stopping to say hello once they recongized the unfamiliar fashion sense and the parculiar foreign way of speaking.
Nothing really changed, and it had given him hope that the one home he knew, Ecruteak, hadn’t changed either.
Of course, it goes to say that a villiage full of elderly people, probably went unphased by the passing times.
The vagabond strolled through the crowds to eventualy find the main center of the city. T his right, the radio tower brimmed with new found staff and a better life now that Rocket had been deemed over, and to his left were more buildings leading to the infamous move tutor and the outskirts.
His haunter beside him, it felt like old times, the days when chasing Suicune seemed endless, and Morty was right by his side-
Eusine froze in his spot, a strange sudden wind blew through te city, most people taking into account that it had just gotten indy all of a sudden but no. This wind, to Eusine, felt familiar. It was said, that when Suicune appeared, a north wind would come. “That...came from the north..” he looked to his pokemon who nodded in agreement, and it was from then in a second, that he brke into a run.
His mind churned with thoughts going back to when he was younger- innocent. That feeling of chasing down the unknown and making his grandfather, making Morty proud. A smile appeared on his face, and his eyes closed to enjoy the moment of blissful-
CRASH
The mystical man ound himself on teh ground again, rubbing his head in pain while his ghost type hovered over him.
Who put that pole in his way..
“Sir, are you okay..?” A voice came from out of no where, someone bending down to check him out, only making eusine gasp audiably when he realized every precious second wasted sitting down confused..was a second he missed Suicune. “I apologize- I haven’t time to worry about a silly fall, I’ve got-” he paused, holding his head when he tried to stand. The world suddeny leaned to one side.
( Flappin in so you can say eusine this important post! )
Hello one and all, pikachus and stunfisks alike. To those of you who are new, I used to play this goof once upon a time in WE. So here I am, ready to go and dive into a new adventure.
I’m trying a new thing with him, hes still a pokemon researcher, but how he goes about Suicune and how I’m forming his life will be differet from last time P: I so have an idea for a starter, but for now if you’d like to rp with Eusine feel free to hit me up on skype or asks. I might tone it down to about three? We’ll see what happens.
