The Starter/Connections Meme!
Let’s cut to the chase. I wanna RP. You wanna RP. Let’s do it. Don’t be shy. Send in one or more of the following symbols to my ask:
☮ - For me to post a starter.
☼ - If you’d like our characters to be friends.
✿ - If you want to try a romantic relationship with my character.
❅ - If you’d like our characters to be enemies or rivals.
♥ - If you just want to RP, and see where it goes.

Applying to jobs wasn’t something she was accustom to and quite frankly, she never wanted to get used to it. She preferred her clientele to seek her out with a job in mind, rather than the other way around.
"First—" she said, holding up her pointer finger to signify her point. "My name is Magdalene. Mag is what I prefer. Since I’m not familiar with the idea of a steady job, the only thing that I can convince you to give me is some entry level shit like secretary. I’m hardworking, instinctive which, as you know, is useful in this field and I’ve got more than my fair share of street smarts. Put me on desk duty if you have to, but I’m /useful/."
Jamie leant back in his chair, running a thumb along his jawline as he thought it over. The logical choice would be to thank her for her interest, give her some line about calling her over the next few days, then put it behind him. On the other hand, it wasn’t as if he had much to lose by giving her a shot.
"Screw it," He said with a half shrug, half nod like gesture. "First thing you’ll need to learn is this is anything but a steady job. Cases don’t arrive on a regular basis, and even those that do aren’t always the most lucrative. We also don’t have much in the way of benefits.” He wasn’t about to sugar coat it for her, she’d learn the truth of the business soon enough if she stuck around. “But if you’re willing to put that aside, you can start whenever you want.
You can call me Jamie or just plain Madrox. Either is fine.”
Magdalene grinned, though she wasn't all too certain about how to handle this sudden change in her life. Being employed felt... Different, which was to be expected, but meeting anyone else's expectations other than her own would prove to be a challenge.
"I can start now," Magdalene offered. "I mean, I can start learning a thing or two since my schedule is clear for the day. When do we start getting to the interesting part? You know, tailing a rich woman's husband to see if he has a mistress or something similar?"

"Let me guess: You're here to hire me for a job? Or perhaps you're here to sell me something," Magdalene said. "There's also the off chance that you've seen me frequent this bar at this particular hour everyday and you wanted to engage in light conversation."

"Whatever happened, I can assure you that I am probably, most likely, one hundred percent innocent."
“There is usually one wicked person in any room. If you don’t see one, maybe everybody else does.”

// hi hello i am attempting to make starters on my phone which is like trying to dig through concrete with a spork, so please bear with me and the ugliness of these threads
// I want to make starters for everyone but I am stuck on mobile until further notice so I will have to settle for short responses :((

"Well, I can’t say all of my experiences have been strictly… Legal… But what if I pinky promise that I’m good at what I do and you won’t regret hiring me?" she asked, grinning impishly.
"Oh,well, I guess if you’re willing to pinky swear," He replied with no small amount of sarcasm, rolling his eyes for good measure. "I need a little more than that, lady. At least give me an idea of what it is you’d bring to the table."

His response was entertaining enough and so she chuckled under her breath. No offense taken. It was refreshing to get what she gave out. “I was actually curious about whether or not you’re hiring,” she said. “I’m a freelancer with a wide range of experience and a little extra cash wouldn’t hurt.”
Hiring, huh? He arched a brow in interest. Business had been doing surprisingly well lately, but he hadn’t actually considered the prospect of hiring someone before now. It wasn’t a terrible idea.
"Not to doubt your word or anything," Jamie responded with a ghost of a smirk, "But I don’t suppose any of these ranges of experiences come with references?"
"Well, I can't say all of my experiences have been strictly... Legal... But what if I pinky promise that I'm good at what I do and you won't regret hiring me?" she asked, grinning impishly.
WHAT MAKES YOU FEEL BETTER WHEN YOU ARE IN A BAD MOOD?
"Destroying expensive items is fabulous therapy."

Magdalene scoffed. The introduction seemed to be aimed toward a specific audience. “Do I really look like that kind of girl?”
"The answer you’re looking for that is ‘no,’ right?" Jamie replied lightly. Attitude was to be met with attitude, it was the first rule in the P.I. handbook. Or so he assumed. He’d only skimmed it. "Well, if you’re not here about any of that, what can I do for you?”

“Sounds like you’re not very good at what you do if you can’t rake up enough money to provide food for yourself,” she responded with a smirk.
"Hey there, food is expensive— and why would I waste all the money for something simple as that when I can, I don’t know, put it into a nice new flat in europe?" An eyebrow raised, he mirrored her smirk. "I’m pretty damn good at what I do."
"Ah, so I hear," Magdalene replied, not bothering to disguise the lighthearted skepticism in her tone. "A little healthy competition never hurt anyone," she said, her smirk remaining fixed upon her lips.
