What is Twisted Fates?

A role swap AU between Lukas and Aiden. Aiden is the leader of the Ocelots and becomes part of the Order of the Stone. Lukas slips down a dark slope and becomes a villain once he takes over the Ocelots.

How can I interact?

A lot of ways!

There's the traditional RP side. Send a starter whether from a canon character or an OC and we can go from there.

Or the Ask Blog side. This one will follow the story of Twisted Fates. I'm still trying to figure out how to involve you. Mayhaps, through giving Aiden advice and encouraging decisions as he makes his way through? Get his reactions to events, etc. You can also just send silly asks, and I'll respond in character, hehe ^^

Which Jesse is used in this AU?

Jasmine Mena; my version of Red Clip Femme!Jesse.

What are the relationships in this AU?

Aiden and Petra grew up together in a group home before Aiden was adopted and stayed friends long after that. Before a falling out that involved Jasmine pulled them apart.

Aiden and Lukas have been friends for years and met because Lukas' mom often read to the kids at the group home. He and Lukas later start dating.

Aiden was adopted by Helen and Dean Martell, Maya's parents. They are siblings.

Helen and Aiden had a great relationship before she was drove out of the house by Dean.

Dean and Aiden have a horrible relationship punctuated by Dean being strict and disliking when Aiden doesn't live up to his expectations.

Aiden has had a crush on Jasmine since they were young teens. Those feelings have ebbed since he and Lukas began dating but are still there. ([Jasmine and Aiden] are the end-game relationship of TF)

Aiden's biological parents are Ellegaard and Magnus. He doesn't know this. Ellegaard did not think she could care for him and run Redstonia at the same time. So she sent him to the group home and had Gabriel promise to keep an eye on him. Magnus did not know he existed.

Twisted Fates

The Beginning

The grip on his wrist is tight and reminiscent of his father's. The person pulling him is just as angry. Aiden's dragging his feet without out meaning to. Terror locking around his throat like hands, squeezing and stealing his breath. And then the stop just at the outskirts of the main shopwalk and Lukas pivots on him, blue eyes stormy and dark. Aiden takes an involuntary step back. He bears down on him immediately after, voice low and and boiling with anger.

"What the hell were you thinking?" Aiden winces, shrinking in on himself. Lukas continues gripping his right arm tight. This is serious, AJ! You've pulled some stunts, but this takes the cake!"

Lukas releases him, and Aiden immediately wraps his arms around himself, turning his head away from the other man.

"You seriously have nothing to say?! People coulda got hurt today! You're lucky it only got the build."

And Jasmine's pig. His chest squeezes; that familiar shame injecting itself into his veins and turning his stomach. It's the only reason the build even caught fire because they ran after him. Lukas tried to help put it out, but there wasn't much that could be done. The judges thought that show of sportsmanship was admirable. It got them extra points. They won by a landslide.

"We shouldn't have won, you know? Why didn't you say anything?"

"Why didn't you?"

"You're our leader, Aiden! I can't keep taking charge, doing the right thing because you can't."

His voice is dripping with venom, the statement like a dagger straight to his heart. A freezing cold washes over him, nausea soon following, and then shaking. A dark cloud descending. His breath hitches, and he tightens his arms around himself. Burning tears prick incessantly at his eyes.

"I'm sorry... I'm sorry... please, stop... I'm sorry..."

He sucks in a sharp breath, trying to calm himself. Lukas reaches for him, and he flinches out of instinct. He looks horrified as he does, and embarrassment quickly washes over Aiden, his face burning hot, or maybe that's the tears now running down his cheeks.

"AJ..." Lukas' voice is gentle and warm, his blue eyes no longer stormy but calm and serene. He reaches for him again, slower, and Aiden let's him—leaning into the palm he presses to his cheek. The scent of his cologne is heady and calming. "I'm sorry. I'm being an ass."

"S'alright. I did something stupid. I was just... I didn't want to hear what Dean would say if we lost."

"My parents wouldn't have let him anywhere near the house, you know that, right?"

"I dunno."

Lukas slowly pulls him into an embrace. Aiden's quick to return it full-force. Pressing his face into the crook of his neck. He smooths his back rhythmically.

"What do I do, Luke?"

"Can't do much now. Damage's done." Aiden winces at that, screwing his eyes shut. Lukas hums in thought. "Best you can do is apologize to Jasmine."

He nods. He already knew that one was coming.

"I can try to do that."

This is just a general announcement that the Mod of this Blog [Kyler] is currently in college and a full-time student involved with the student government. In other words, I am BUSY. However, this blog is not forgotten and I'm more than down to keep answering questions! I have the first story update in the works but just don't have a lot of time to dedicate atm!

Aiden have you got the building materials for the beacon like iron blocks and gold blocks? Another question, where are you getting them from e.g. from mining or trading perhaps. I was wondering because we know you already asked Petra for the wither star but not where you are getting the rest of the materials for the beacon from.

If you are wondering how I know about the beacon you and the ocelots are building, I am not going to say how I know but I will tell you one thing. I didn't hear about the beacon from Gill or Petra. You can believe what I am saying or not, it is up to you.

You catch Aiden while he is relaxing near a riverside with a bottle of water. He sighs at your approach already properly tired of being sought out so often for gossip of all kinds, but also intrigued. He's always craved attention and you sought him out. He crosses his arms as he listens to you ramble, getting more and more confused as you continue.

"Hold on! Give me a second. Breathe." He huffs disapprovingly as he tries to parse through your words. You asked a question first about the materials for the Beacon. "We just finished getting them today. That's what we're out here doing. Gill's a fair blacksmith he can get the ore melted down for us."

He answers almost flippantly as he narrows his gaze.

"What I don't understand is how you people are learning this stuff! Knew I went to Petra for the wither star, knew we're building a Beacon. Do you know what kind it is too?!" He takes a deep breath in after the outburst and shakes his head. "And you won't even tell me where you're getting your info... whatever. We're winning the competition regardless of whether our project gets leaked. I won't have it any other way."

He can't have it any other way. He has to prove himself. Prove that his choice to do construction and engineering isn't a bust. Losing at all would make everything for naught. It's not exactly his first choice but his father wouldn't stand for him going for his actual passion of writing. He didn't tolerate his theater hobby. This was at least practical. He frowns and shakes his head and remembers you're there and sighs.

"I answered your questions, didn't I? Leave."

You want to know what the storm wither storm is ? , okay but I am not the best at explaining things but I'll try.

The storm wither storm is a wither on a power trip because of something called a command block. By a power trip I mean uhh think of a wither that doesn't stop growing and has only one weakness.

This wither grows by eating the world by collecting blocks with a purple tractor beam to make itself bigger. It also pulls people into the purple tractor beam, this purple tractor beam looks like the light from a beacon. I think the reason why it pulls people in as well as blocks is because it cannot figure out the difference between blocks and people but I am not sure about that reason.

Oh I forgot the one weakness I was talking about earlier, the storm's wither storm weakness is the command block, you have to get rid of it by destroying the block completely. The command block is kind of like a power source to the storm. It is a problem because the command block would be in the centre of the storm which would be difficult if it was able to get a lot of blocks.

I think that is everything about the storm wither storm.

He stares in abject horror, blinking wildly, turning paler by the second before gulping and flashing a wobbly smirk. He tries to laugh your story off, but it's obviously gotten to him.

"Great, uh, ghost story there! I'll, uhm, keep it in mind."

He offers a thin smile. He's clearly been knocked off guard and wants the subject to either change or to leave entirely.

Aiden, are you building at this year's building competition? If you are joining the contest, what are you and the ocelots building?

If you are building a beacon this year, be prepared because the storm wither storm is coming to Endercon.

"Are we building at this year's competition? Is the sky blue? Hell yeah, we are!"

His grin is wide and smoldering.

"We're gonna win too, no doubt! We're building some—"

He stops. A Beacon. That's what you said. But how had you known they were building a Beacon? He kept that close to his chest. It was their secret weapon. Something new and far more technically advanced than attempted in recent years. Had Gill blabbed? He was good at that. But then again, he'd never spoiled their build secret. Maybe it was Petra then? He'd just come to them to ask for the Nether Star... She wasn't the type, though. Then how...

He freezes as your voice grows more ominous. Storm? Wither Storm? Is that what you said? What was that? He knew what a wither was. Lukas often talked about them in hushed tones. But a Wither Storm? His blood runs cold at the thought. Hair at the back of his neck standing up. There's a warning here. A nervous laugh cracks past his composure.

"Uh, yeah... what are you talking about?"

He laughs at the prospect. He and Lukas having a wedding... Gill could be best man. Maya would love being best lady. She was always looking for a reason to dress glitzy. His laughter trails off fondly and he sighs before shaking his head. Enough daydreaming.

"We're fine as we are right now. But maybe we'll consider an open invitation when the time comes."

"Luke and I aren't married yet?"

He purses his lips as he thinks on it. He's never thought of marrying Lukas. The way they are right now is fine...

"I don't know if either of us are ready for that. As for breaking up, don't think we will! We're solid and happy together! Dunno where you're getting that we're anything but..."

There is a rumor of an island community far into the oceans past the mainland; where Beacon Town lies. A nearly isolated and quaint community. Some say of alchemists, inventors, artists, musicians and more. But the truth is far more interesting than just that. These people have unique gifts and powers most others can’t fathom. But they are friendly people for the most part, if not a bit quirky at times.

After having a rare chance of visiting this island; the few people who are given the honor have often returned saying the phrase. “It’s an Island of real Wizards.”

Some people have begun to jokingly call it Ex-Isle, because of how the people on that spit of land willingly exile themselves from the rest of the world.

Yet they all exclusively live there and are happy to remain as such; away from the mainland. Offers for them to move to the mainland around more people has been offered but all of them surprisingly have politely declined. Saying that this island is their home and responsibility, as to what that means we don’t know yet.

[ the alien drops off a poster from endercon! they probably took it from somewhere. ]

Aiden blinks wildly at the alien as they settle the poster in his hands. They seem happy about it or excited or curious? He's not sure. He holds it up so he can properly look at it. It's for this year's convention—advertising Gabriel will be the attending special guest and holding a keynote. Though, they learned that way earlier than probably most. It helped having Petra as a semi-friend. She always had good insider info.

She used to be your best friend.

His stomach twists like a knife has been plunged in it. He briefly wonders if the alien didn't stab him with some probing device. It's not a physical sensation, though. It's emotional. Long held guilt bubbling to the surface. He let his own jealousy kill a good friendship. And then, for years now, he'd been too stubborn to say a damn thing... they deserved better than that.

Maybe he should give them better than that. They had to find her for a go getting job anyhow. The Beacon still needed its core power source: a nether star. She was the only one who could get them one in a timely manner and for fairly cheap. Maybe he could finally apologize to them. He's sure they won't just accept that, though. He'll have to make nice with her... other friends. Their usual rivals. Jasmine's team. His heart skips a beat at her name, and he scowls.

He'll have to if he wants to do right by Petra. And he does want to do right by Petra. A heavy sigh leaves him. That'll have to be how it is then.

He realizes then that he has an audience. They're tilting head and rippling eyes, give off palpable curiosity. He coughs and flashes a grin.

Appear in control, Aiden.

"Did you steal this? Not that I care, but I really don't need put in the chokey for this. So, you'll understand if I'm a bit of a narc, yeah?"

"Alright, which one of you losers sent him my way?"

It's a rhetorical question. He knows no one around can answer him. He sizes the man before him up. They look alike, definitely. Slight differences, but they could pass off as twins easy. He frowns. He doesn't like that or the implications. Multiple versions of him was one thing; one being in his realm and asking about his boyfriend was another.

"Great, actually! We're a real pair! Wouldn't choose anyone else. Now as fun as this was, uh, Aiden... I have an EnderCon build to plan for."

With a curt wave, he makes off.

He barks a laugh at the other Aidens' expense before shaking his head.

"I think he's normal enough. But between me and you, he comes off a bit like a loser. Being that unsure of yourself is a great way to get torn down, get hurt."

Seems he might be speaking from experience... He coughs and flashes a grin.

"Would I date myself? I'unno. If I'm being honest, I'm not sure I'd like that. Even if it wasn't just... odd."

"Lovebirds?"

He laughs and rubs at the back of his neck.

"Quit, you'll make me blush."

He clears his throat and shakes off whatever embarrassment your statement brought him. Flashing his signature crooked grin to mask what's left of it.

"Yep! We're great! What I don't get is where the rumors are coming from! We've always been close even before we started dating. He's my best friend!"

His smile is genuine; a light not normally found glittering brightly in his mismatched irises.

"My whole world. There's never been anyone else..."

His stomach twists. You liar. There has been. His smile falls from his eyes and strains.

"For either of us, I'd hope."

His laugh is nervous. This conversation isn't comfortable anymore. He's trying his hardest to pretend it is. He goes for something easy: changing the subject.

"You know where these supposed 'rumors' started? I'd like to find the loser and tell 'em off."
