Evolve pt3
Isaac Lahey fanfiction
Reader x Isaac Lahey
Prompt - This fanfiction is based loosely off of Teen Wolf Season 2, where Isaac first becomes a werewolf. You are new to Beacon Hills High School and you can’t help but develop a crush on your Chemistry partner. But how will your relationship evolve, once your crush is bitten by Derek and becomes a werewolf?
Brad picked you up later that evening and you made your way to the rave. You were sporting a tight, dark crimson dress and black heels. Your hair hung in a loose up do. Brad complimented your appearance, a slight blush on his cheeks. You found yourself thinking about Isaac and wondered how he would react to seeing you dressed up. You quickly moved all thoughts of Isaac out of your mind, deciding to focus purely on having a good time.
When you arrived at the club, you could already hear the loud music thumping through the walls. Brad handed the bouncer your tickets and you followed him into the building. You were enveloped in a variety of sights and sounds. Brad took your hand and pushed his way through the crowd, parting the sea of sweaty, intoxicated young adults and forming a path for you to walk through. You stopped by the bar and Brad ordered you a drink. You weren’t one for underage drinking, but you felt you deserved to let loose at least once and also hoped it would help you take your mind of the growing anger and confusion you felt towards Isaac.
After finishing your drink and downing a shot of vodka, you were beginning to feel more relaxed and you found yourself boldly grabbing hold of Brads hand and dragging him out onto the dance floor. You were both soon laughing and spinning around freely without a care in the world. After dancing for a while, Brad went to grab you both another drink and not soon after you were downing another shot. Your head was now spinning out of control, and you danced up against Brad, no longer caring about what anyone else thought.
Brad took your hand and spun you around in a circle, the force of the spin causing your hair to remove itself from your hair tie and naturally fall in loose waves down your back. You stopped spinning and stepped back, looking towards the ground for your hair tie. However, as your stepped back, you bumped into something hard and warm. You looked up and saw piercing blue eyes gazing down at you in awe, before turning a light shade of gold. You stepped forward and span around, coming face to face with Isaac. His eyes had returned to their original mesmerising blue, and they were now staring daggers at Brad.
You stood frozen in place, not knowing what to say. Luckily, before you could embarrass yourself by stumbling over your words, Brad spoke up “Hi mate, how’s it going?” He greeted Isaac, holding out his hand.
Isaac looked down at Brads hand, his eyebrows raised slightly, before letting out a scoff and turning to face you.
“I thought I told you not to come here?” He says darkly.
You stare at Isaac in disbelief, but before you can answer, Brad steps in front of you “She’s here with me.” He says, his chest puffing out slightly, as if to try and intimidate Isaac.
Isaac doesn’t even acknowledge him and instead steps around him, grabbing hold of your hand. Your heart begins to beat out of control and you surprise yourself by closing your hand around Isaac’s.
Just as you were about to be dragged away, Brad grabs Isaac by the shoulder, pulling him back and forcing Isaac to release his grip on your hand.
Isaac lets out a heavy sigh, before finally facing Brad “Do you mind, I need to speak with Y/N.” He says, bluntly.
Brad stands there stunned for a moment, before replying “Actually, I do mind. Y/N is here with me, as my date. There are plenty of other girls in here. So why don’t you go bother one of them?” He edges towards Isaac menacingly.
Isaac lets out a small laugh, before turning his back on Brad and looking down at you pleadingly “Can we just get out of here and talk?” He asks, almost sounding desperate.
You were about to reply, when you notice Brad once again reaching for Isaac’s shoulder. However, this time he pulled on it harshly, causing Isaac to stumble away from you. Brad didn’t even wait for Isaac to get his footing, before pushing him hard against the ground.
Isaac was up in a flash, pushing Brad further into the crowd of people. Brad returned Isaac's advances, by punching Isaac square in the jaw. Issac pressed his hand against his chin and licked his bottom lip, wiping away the fresh blood forming on his now cut lip.
Isaac’s eyes flashed in anger and a devilish smirk spread across his face. Brad backed away in fear, clearly not expecting Isaac to be able to withstand his punch. The look on Isaac’s face was menacing, but for some messed up reason you found him even more attractive.
Just as Isaac was about to land a hit on Brad, he looked towards the ceiling. A growing look of worry on his face. He turned back to Brad and pushed him to the ground, before quickly turning his back on him and once again advancing towards you “Y/N. Please just trust me and get out of here NOW! It’s not safe.”
You opened your mouth to argue, but Isaac grabs hold of both your shoulders and bends down to meet your eye line “I promise I will explain everything to you. About Boyd, Erica and Derek. Even about me. Just trust me on this. I’m trying to protect you!”
You were completely stunned at his words, you could tell from the way he was acting how serious he was. Fear slowly began to fill up inside you. Were you really in danger? Not wanting to risk your safety, you nodded at Isaac in understanding. He lets out a sigh of relief, before once again looking up towards the ceiling in panic.
“I trust you.” You find yourself saying “I will leave now. But Isaac?” You ask, waiting for him to once again look you in the eyes. As soon as his intoxicating eyes meet yours, you squeeze his hand which was still grabbing hold of your shoulder “You stay safe too.”
He lets out a genuine smile “I’ll be fine as long as I know you’re safe. Now go!” He releases his grip on you and pushes you towards the exit.
You glance over your shoulder to look back at Isaac, but he is already lost in the crowd.
You send a text to Brad, letting him know that you were heading home for the evening, when he suddenly came running out of the club after you.
He said he would see you home, but you insisted that you could get home safe alone. After watching him fight Isaac, you were no longer interested him as even a friend, let alone a romantic partner. However, he was insistent on seeing you home, so you settled for allowing him to wait for your taxi with you.
You began to engage in formal conversation with Brad, when he suddenly turned the conversation to Isaac “I can’t believe him. Attacking me out of nowhere.” Just as you were about to defend Isaac, and point out that it was in fact Brad who lay his hands on Isaac first, he continued with his rant, not allowing you the chance to speak. “I still think he was behind his dads murder... He seems like the type...”
You tried to drown out Brads ongoing rant, only catching bits and pieces of what he was saying. “I’m not even surprised that his dad used to beat him. If you ask me, he probably deserved it-” Before you could even process what had happened, your hand moved on instinct and you found yourself punching Brad hard in the face.
He moaned in pain, grabbing hold of his now bleeding nose “What the fuck bitch!” He screams at you.
You step back cautiously, knowing you won’t be able to defend yourself if Brad decides to attack. Luckily, you hear a car approach and you sigh in relief at the site of your taxi pulling up. You thrust the door open and hop in, but not before addressing Brad. “Thanks for the date, but I don’t think we will be doing this again. Also, about the punch. I would apologise, but honestly... I think you deserved it.” You flash Brad a bright smile, before closing the door on his face and driving away to the safety of your home.
You were glad to get out of your dress and heels. You decided to take a shower when you got home, enjoying the soothing feeling of the hot water on your skin. You threw on some underwear and your favourite long length band shirt, which you tend to use as a night dress. You began drying your hair, the whole time your mind wandering to thoughts of Isaac. He had seemed so worried at the club, that you couldn’t help but be concerned for his safety. You were glad he had finally agreed to open up to you, but you begin to panic, not knowing whether you would even get the chance to speak to him if he was in danger. You stood up suddenly and grabbed a pair of jeans and a hoodie out of your wardrobe. You slipped on your clothes and trainers and slid open your bedroom window. You crawled out onto the roof, knowing for a fact your mother wouldn’t allow you to go out in the middle of the night, still slightly intoxicated, to track down a boy who was recently accused of murder. You slid your window closed behind you, and began crawling along, trying to avoid any loose tiles along the way. However, you were so focused on the task at hand and trying to remain as silent as possible, that you didn’t even notice the figure suddenly pop up in front of you.
In a moment of panic, you hit the figure in front of you, causing them to lose hold of the edge of the roof and fall towards the ground with a heavy thump.
You stifle a scream and brave a look over the edge of the roof. You squint through the darkness and examine the person hunched over on the ground. Blue eyes suddenly peer back at you and you sigh in relief “Isaac?” You question “What the hell are you doing here?” You whisper down to him.
He smiles up at you “Thanks for your concern. I’m here to see you obviously.”
“Oh- right. Sorry.” You stumble, “You’re not hurt too badly are you?”
He lets out a small laugh “Don’t worry about me, I heal fast.” He begins to sit up and you make your way down the side of your house and land gently on the grass beside him.
You kneel down beside Isaac, your face coming shockingly close to his. You shuffle back slightly, a blush forming on both of your cheeks “Are you sure you’re okay?” You ask, breaking the awkward silence forming between you.
You make a point of looking him over, to avoid having to make eye contact. A chuckle escapes from his lips “I’m fine. I’m glad you made it back safely.” He whispers.
You finally collect yourself and turn to face him “Now. Are you going to tell me what you were doing climbing up my house in the middle of the night?”
Isaac leans back on his elbows, smirking at you “I could ask you the same thing. What are you doing sneaking out of your house in the middle of the night?”
You scoff at his question “I’m allowed to sneak out of my own house if I want to. Besides, I asked you first!”
Isaac’s smile widens “I guess you’re right. As I said earlier I came here to see you. I promised you a nice little chat, didn’t I?”
You raised your eyebrows at Isaac “And you didn’t think to wait until morning? How could you be sure I didn’t have company?” You say, wanting to intimidate Isaac.
This time Isaac was the one raising his eyebrows “You don’t strike me as the type to bring home company.” He sits up suddenly, his face coming in close to yours “Plus, I saw your date outside the club when I left, his nose was bleeding and he was swearing about some crazy bitch who attacked him.” He glances down at your hand and the slight bruising on your knuckles “I’m guessing you’re the “crazy bitch” he was referring to?”
You hide your hand away from Isaac and look down at the ground guiltily “Yeah, I guess I am.”
He reaches out and takes your hand in his, brushing his fingers delicately across your knuckles. “Does it hurt?” He asks and you shake your head in response “I thought I told you to get home safe. Why would you go and punch someone? He didn’t do anything to hurt you did he?” Isaac’s voice began to waver, you could hear his words were filled with worry and a hint of anger.
You begin to move your hand away from Isaac, but instead find yourself intertwining your fingers with his “He was talking bad about you. I couldn’t stand hearing him saying such awful things, so without meaning to I ended up punching him.” You respond, your voice nothing but a hushed whisper.
You notice his lips lift up, a slight smile forming on his face “That’s my girl.” He says under his breathe.
You weren’t even sure you’d heard him properly, but before you could dwell on his words, Isaac stood up quickly. He pulled you up with him, his hand remaining in yours “Come on.” He says “Let’s take a walk.”
You roam the vacant streets with Isaac, laughing and talking about nothing and everything. You were desperate to ask him all about what had happened at the club, as well as the questions you had about Boyd, Erica and Derek. But for the moment, you found yourself content in just Isaac’s company.
You had made your way to the forest on the edge of town. Usually you would be afraid to go in at night, but you found yourself feeling safe with Isaac by your side and you were looking forward to continuing this adventure. He gripped your hand firmly and peered down at you “Did you mean what you said at the club?” He questions suddenly. You look up at him confused, before he continued “About trusting me.”
You nodded in response “Yes, I meant what I said.”
Isaac sighed in relief “And do you trust me now?” He questions.
You smile up at him “Of course.”
He returns your smile, before edging into the forest, pulling you along with him. You walked through the forest in silence. Isaac guided you through the trees, expertly navigating his way through darkness ahead. You wondered how he was so clearly able to follow the path, as you were barely able to see Isaac’s broad back in front of you.
Just as you were about to question where Isaac was taking you, you could see light filtering through the trees ahead. There was a clearing, leading to a cliff which looked out across the whole of Beacon Hills.
You gasped at the magical sight in front of you. The lights of the city shimmered, illuminated by the bright light of the half moon. Isaac finally released your hand and walked over to a large boulder on the edge of the cliff and sat down. He looked towards you and pet the space beside him, signalling for you to take a seat.
There wasn’t much space available, which forced you to sit close to Isaac. You were pressed up against his warm side and you couldn’t help but melt into him, enjoying the heat radiating from his side. He let out a small chuckle, before placing his arm around you, pulling you closer into him.
He must have noticed you trying to absorb his warmth and you turned away, an embarrassed blush forming on your cheeks.
You sat side by side for a while, enjoying the extraordinary view. After a couple of minutes, Isaac finally lets out a sigh, breaking the silence.
“I’m sorry Y/N.” He whispers and you look towards him in confusion.
“Why are you sorry?” You question.
Isaac, continues to stare out at the view, not yet brave enough to face you “I’m sorry for how I’ve acted towards you.” He begins. “When we first met, I was so captivated by your beauty that I couldn’t even speak.” You inhale slightly in shock, but before you can respond Isaac continues speaking “And then, after I went through... certain changes, I still couldn’t seem to function in front of you. I acted like a complete jerk. I’m deeply sorry for how awful I have treated you and I will understand entirely if you never want to speak to me again. I just wanted the chance to apologise, and to hopefully make it up to you by letting you in on what’s been going on.” He finishes in a rush.
You continue to stare at Isaac in disbelief. You had never expected him to drag you all the way here to just apologise. “Thank you for your apology and I would like to hear about what’s been happening.” You finally respond, not sure what else to say.
You sit in silence the entire time Isaac speaks. He opens up to you about his dark past, as well as his unbelievable secret and every crazy event that has been going on in Beacon Hills, which included other supernatural beings.
“Well at least now I understand everyone’s strange behavior” You say, once Isaac had finished laying out all his dark secrets in front of you.
Isaac turns to face you, a shocked expression on his face “Is that all you have to say?” He asks in disbelief.
You smile at him and nod “No actually, I do have something else to say. I forgive you, and I want us to be friends.” You say matter of factly.
Isaac’s face shifts from one of shock, to disappointment.
You place your hand on top of his “What’s wrong?” You question.
Isaac’s intoxicating eyes meet yours “I was kind of hoping we could be more than friends.”
You took a moment to process what Isaac had said. Was that him asking you out?
Before you could second guess yourself, you decided to be as brave as Isaac had been when opening up to you and lent forward, pressing your lips against his in a tender kiss.
Isaac’s whole body stiffened and you began to pull away, worried that you had mistaken what Isaac had said. Except, as soon as your lips left his, Isaac pulled you back into him, crashing his lips against yours.
Isaac's kisses grew more heated and urgent. You melted into him, as his hands began to explore your body. You let out a moan and Isaac pulled away suddenly.
He turned his face away from you.
“Isaac are you okay?” You ask, worried. When Isaac doesn’t respond you place your hand on his face and urge him to face you. His eyes are shut tight. “I’m sorry.” You apologise, unsure if you had done something wrong.
Isaac finally responds “Don’t apologise Y/N, you’ve done nothing wrong. I just ... I don’t want you to see me like this.” He says, sounding insecure.
“Like what?” You question. “Is there a problem with your eyes?”
Isaac nods in response “My eyes change colour when I’m feeling strong emotions.” He admits “It’s part of being a werewolf.”
Your mind flashes back to the golden eyes looking down at you in the club. You had thought you had imagined that in your intoxicated state. “Your eyes turn gold.” You say matter of factly.
Isaac’s eyes spring open in shock, “How did you know that?” He questions, before quickly looking away in panic. He had almost forgotten he was supposed to be hiding his eyes away from you.
“Isaac.” You whisper “Please look at me.” He reluctantly turns to face you, his eyelids still closed shut. You once again place a chaste kiss on his lips and his eyes flutter open.
You could feel yourself getting lost in their golden glow. You smile gently at Isaac “I saw your eyes flash gold when I bumped into you at the club. I had thought I’d imagined it, or it was a trick of the light. They’re really pretty.” You admit.
A blush forms on Isaac’s cheeks and his eyes slowly fade back to their original ocean blue.
“You’re not scared of me?” Isaac questions, his voice wavering slightly.
“Of course not! I lov-” You quickly stopped yourself, before you scared Isaac away with your feelings. You knew Isaac liked you, but that didn’t mean his feelings were as strong as yours.
This time Isaac leaned forward and kissed you gently. His eyes met yours and he stared longingly into them “I love you Y/N.” He whispers.
Your heart began to beat out of your chest and the butterflies in your stomach flapped about uncontrollably. You couldn’t believe what you had just heard. You were filled with happiness “I love you too Isaac.” You say, leaning into his arms and kissing him passionately.
You stayed wrapped in Isaac’s arms until the sun began to rise. Your mind had been processing everything that had happened since you began your new life in Beacon Hills and at this very moment you were so thankful to your mother for dragging you into this unbelievable adventure.
If you had never moved away from home, you would never have met Isaac and you would be still clueless to the fact that supernatural creatures did in fact exist.
You were also glad that you had opened yourself up to Isaac, the same way he had done earlier that evening. Otherwise, he never would have evolved from being your shy, timid crush. To your sarcastic enemy. To now your boyfriend, lover and werewolf.
