Virgil falls asleep on the couch and later Janus sits next to him

While he's asleep he can't control his feelings so Virgil's body senses Janus near and recognises the safety and love that he provided him when they were younger so he unconsciously snuggles up to him in his sleep

Janus freezes and trembles slightly as his mind is taken over by memories of him being cuddled by 5-year-old Virgil all those years ago

He allows himself to enjoy the moment, but he's gone by the time Virgil wakes up, and he doesn't mention it ever (until he finds out that Remus watched the whole thing from the shadows)

I don't typically post anything anywhere, but this is too important not to share. And sorry if someone else has already said this.

For a while now I've been thinking about nicknames Virgil would have. one particular one that I thought would be funny is Remus calling him calling him a virgin, since it's only two letters off from his name. but then I realize.

That the light sides all have an ending -in sound to their name.

And it got me thinking what would Virgil's name mean if you change it to the -us sound instead.

Now tell me if I'm going crazy on this, but this sounds like nicknames that janus would give him!

Fear man! He's literally anxiety.

Sour grape! He's constantly in a sour mood and his theme is purple.

Even genius of fish!! It's attack on his ego

His the name it's just nicknames that he got from the dark sides!!

Everyday in this fandom you realize that the rabbit hole does not end!!

I like the theory that Virgil changed his name to separate himself from the Othered Sides but I'd like to bring in another theory. If sides truly can pick their names, then what if Janus and Virgil originally chose their names first (not necessarily before Logan and Patton, but before Roman and Remus came along and thus got their own names). Then when Remus showed up due to the split they basically took him in because they know what it's like to feel unloved and ridiculed. Then Remus saw Patton's, Logan's, and soon Roman's matching names, so he decided to pick his to match Janus (as Janus was probably more accepting of him than Virgil was at the time) just so that he could get some semblance of belonging as well as to showcase the kind of one brother cherished and the other left behind/killed (as the entire reason Remus was created was because his existence wasn't wanted) kind of dynamic that he and Roman have. Don't know who/if anyone else has shared this idea but I just wanted to bring it up because I think it's interesting :]

Headcanon: Virgil still has his old hoodie because it's comfy and he wears it whenever he's feeling tired and lazy and doesn't care enough to be presentable OR if his other hoodie is in the wash or something. Thomas and the light sides are used to seeing him in it every once in awhile but one day he walks out in it and Janus and/or Remus see and they freeze for a moment before they can regain their bearings and remember what year it is and not to cry
