“SURPRISE!” Effie shouted, taking the positive test from out of her back pocket. “I jus’ found out, Eoin. I needed you to distract Liv for the 3 minutes it took me to sneak into the bathroom. Happy Halloween?”

“Oh my god! Effie!” He smiled and wrapped his arms around her. “This is the best Halloween ever. I’m going to be a dad! Again! But also my genes!”

“Hm?” Eoin asked before looking up. “Effie... is that...?”

Now you’ve got me wanting to bake Christmas cookies.

Do it! An’ then bring me some.

Yes! That makes me happy! We can just skip over all the other holidays and celebrate Christmas all the time, who wouldn’t want that?

Absolutely! Presents, carols, cookies, an’ ugly jumpers! My favourite things.

Mon Dieu, don’t take this the wrong way, lamb, but I didn’t take you for a father. The last time I lived here you were quite small so it’s very weird for me to see you as any more than Fionn’s little brother. -laughs- So you’ve a daughter now?

*laughs* I’m still Fionn’s little brother, but I know what you mean. I didn’t expect t’ be a father so young. But I love her an’ my wife more’n anything in the world. She’s called Olive and she’s about 16 months old now which is mad.

I mean, you do what you want, but I would like to enjoy these fleeting autumnal moments while I can. The Harvest Festival is soon, isn’t it? I do believe they said they’d be making an announcement soon or something in the Weekly. Maybe we can switch your hat to a Pumpkin – if only for the weekend.

You’re absolutely right. ‘Specially ‘cause it’s my daughter’s first fall that we can really dress her up. She was only a few months old last year when Halloween rolled around. An’ now she can walk around which is so weird. Babies hit so many big marks in their first year.

I’d argue that until it’s, you know, December, it’s definitely too early to toss on a Santa hat.

Well now. With the Johnsons moved out looks like I’m out of a job. Anyone looking for a sitter? Promise my pb&js are out of this world.

Liv’s a little young t’ eat pb&js, but I’m sure Effie wouldn’t mind a sitter so we can go out sometimes.

Effie: She's really just upset that she'll never have another daughter to set a wedding up for since my big sister has sworn off marriage and GOD KNOWS what Aiden's doing.

Eoin: Maybe in the future we can renew our vows and have a proper wedding ceremony and reception. That would please her.

Effie: My Mum doesn't like most things that she doesn't understand. She's a traditionalist, don't take it personally.

Eoin: I know that. At least we're married or she would throw a fit about us. Especially because we want another baby.
