i have a lot of headcanons and conjecture about clone culture & i think i'll share a few here:

clones are very casual about touch and physical affection, which is a natural side effect of sharing space with several other people since the day you were born; it's not uncommon to find a cuddle pile of some shape in the barracks

similarly, they aren't very bodyshy and personal space isn't highly enforced. it's considered good courtesy to at least wear pants in communal spaces but walking in on someone changing, for example, isn't a big deal.

sharing clothes becomes a huge thing during the war, since they can all wear the same sizes and this is their first chance to explore any fashion that's not standard-issue. this leads to some "sisterhood of the traveling pants" type of chicanery, especially among the sisters of the GAR (they have been playing pass the parcel with this one periwinkle silk blouse for ages).

tattoos are considered a very casual low-level commitment most of the time, as a simple way to distinguish yourself visually. piercings, however, are seen as Big Commitments™️ at least partially bc of the risk of infection & etc. several medics played whack-a-mole with rumors of a piercing gun for like 2 months once

the idea of making bets with credits is abhorrent to the majority of the GAR, with the possible exception of the higher level CCs. this is because they have no money on average & therefore have no credits to lose by being wrong.

you know what is funny to me . when people think that kindness and love are about ”keeping the peace” when in reality kindness and love are quite literally my driving force and are the root cause of my rage . I’m so angry because i care so much and i want everyone to be happy and healthy and comfortable and I HATE when people are mistreated . my kindness and love doesn’t always allow me to keep the peace.

you know even if a homeless person or a starving person is in that position because of their own "bad decisions" i don't care. it doesn't matter. no supposed financial misstep is enough to condemn someone to homelessness or poverty.

November 13 is World Kindness Day and I am here on my side quest to get people to donate to their local food banks holding a megaphone and a sign that says

"Donating $5 to a food bank feeds 15 people, this is the best bang for your buck if you are broke but want to engage in mutual aid/charity."

Listen if the US government doesn't get its shit figured out by Nov 1 there's not going to be food stamp benefits for November and food banks are going to be overrun. People are really going to need this help. So if you have $5 to spare, please consider donating it to your local food bank.

Also donating to the food bank is a GREAT way to stave off existential dread about *gestures vaguely* because sure you can't fix The Government or The Laws or any of that BUT you can feed 15 people. That's a tangible difference you can make. If you donate $10 you've fed one person every day for the entire month. That's wild! That's a whole crowd of people!! So donate $5 or $10 to your local food bank and let it be enough.

Going to end with something I say sometimes which is this: You should always be as kind as possible so that even if no one around you is kind, you can still say "There are kind people in the world. I know because I am one of them." Trust me this is how I maintain my mental health it does help
