Ok hang with me because this is long and my first really thought out theory
Maeve is Rhysand’s “dead” sister
First their appearances and powers are the same/similar.
They both have Raven black hair.
”His short black hair gleamed like a raven’s feathers”
“the raven-haired beauty”
They both have violet eyes
“blue eyes so deep they were violet”
(idk what Maeve’s eye color is but tog wiki said violet)
They both can get into peoples minds with claws and change what they think
“And using her powers, she ripped into their minds. Made them believe they had a sister, an eldest sister to rule with them.”
“There was a faint pulse in the air, a throbbing against her blood. A tapping, then a razor-sharp slicing against her mind—as if Maeve were trying to cleave open her skull and peer inside… she pushed back against the claws in her mind“
“readying to rip into their minds and force them

They both have the power of darkness/night

(I'm also pretty sure there's a quote about Rhys and darkness covering the stars)
They have a different dark form
“The skin Maeve wore. No one had lived to tell anything beyond shadows and claws and a darkness“
“That Maeve had never revealed a Fae form, only that deadly darkness.“

We never knew Rhys’ sister’s name
Also in ToD when the spiders talk about Maeve they say,
“Until a queen appeared—her power a new, dark song in the world.“
