I've got a golden ticket ā¤ļøā¤ļøš¤£
Sincerely hope that I manage to get a ticket for this! š¤ā¤ļø
This is a post from Henry (Brian's nephew). He was born shortly after Brian's death in 1967. Hopefully the Epstein archives will be opened for this documentary. We also know that Joanne has more secrets to divulge. Remember how her planned book was suddenly indefinitely shelved, despite being advertised. It was called "There's a Beatle in my closet".

I had known a lot of gay men. It didn't matter to us. We were lads of the time. Or maybe, OK then, lads ahead of our time.
Ringo Starr on Brian Epstein's sexuality

Postcard Series -> Dungeon Lane Cafe feat. lyrics from Home to Us.
to celebrate Derekās birthday, hereās my favourite extended bit of his writing: the time he and Joan first took acid, at Brianās housewarming party in May 1967 (from Chapter 11 of Fifty Years Adrift (1984) - the italicised sections are George)
Heās so happy š„¹
Brian Epstein and Geoffrey Ellis, spring 1967
His joy for life and music and PLAY is so special.
Thereās also something so full circle about the trumpet being his first instrument, chosen for him by Jim and quickly abandoned, and then seeing him here at 83, picking it up again. ā¤ļø
Brian Epstein and Ringo StarrĀ autographs, featured in a guest book signed by artists, writers and performers who frequented the famous London restaurant Chez Victor in Wardour Street, Soho, from the 1960s to 1980s.Ā [x]Ā
Epstein writes in an entry dated 24/11/66: āCannot understand why Iāve never been before - its all very nice and very goodāĀ - whilst Starrās later entry is dated 9/2/73
āØBONUS ARTICLEāØ
A positive in Brianās life [in the play] is his friendships with Peter, Geoffrey and Cilla [...] Peter and Geoffrey stand in for themselves and for other loyal friends of Brianās who had his back even when he exasperated them. The friendship between the three is life-affirming and a great example of queer solidarity. They talk about the challenges and joys of gay life and their different approaches to it, console each other in troubles, and most importantly, laugh and joke together in a shared language.
Another bonus article, by @bodhbdearg! This article is a review of the play Please Please Me, about the life of Brian Epstein, and looks at playwright Tom Wright's intention to explore Brian's life and experiences as a gay man in mid-20th century English show business. Brian's relationship with John is foregrounded, as are his friendships with other gay men, which provide a beacon of queer solidarity in a hostile world. Read at the link below!
Brian Epstein's life and experiences as a gay man take centre stage
I enjoyed the performance, particularly the Brian/Cilla relationship. The powerful ghost scene between Brian and John was very emotional. š

Handwritten postcard from BrianĀ EpsteinĀ to his parents, dated July 2, 1966.Ā This was written in Tokyo the day before the Beatlesā ill-fated visit to the Philippines. On the reverse is an image of the Nippon Budokan Hall, where the Beatles played five concerts [x]
āJust one more card from Tokyo (youāve done very well this trip!) The picture on the front is of the hall where we played here with the rest of the huge city in the background. Iāve enjoyed this trip very much. Although itās been as hectic as always, itās been a very happy one. Tomorrow we leave for theĀ PhilippinesĀ and should be back early next Friday. All love, BrianāĀ
