The Internet Will Be The Future Of Automotive Sales

Automotive online sales are quickly becoming the norm. Preowned automotive stores such as Carvana, Vroom, and Carmax will soon eat away at independent and franchise dealership-used car businesses.

It's all because they got to online sales first. According to news and a research study conducted by CNBC, American's dislike going to car dealerships. With the long sales process and armed with new research, consumers feel compelled to get the most for their vehicle trade-ins. The majority of new auto purchases are associated with vehicle trade-ins.

Many consumers feel taken advantage of by dealerships in most cases and don't trust their dealership sales consultant. In five recent articles, including Forbes, car salespeople are considered among the least trusted professions, near congress members. It is important to note that some automotive dealers are pillars in their community and provide excellent service to their communities.

Auto dealers should ensure that online automotive sales will be a vital element in their sales process. A new and improved dealership sales process goes beyond having a BDC (business development department) but having a simplified car-buying process that is contactless without salespeople. The new auto dealers created on-premise sales, but now the newer competitors taking sales online are perfecting auto sales.

There is more of an upside for dealerships to revisit their sales processes. Dealers would have the ability to sell outside of their selling areas, sell for higher-margin, reduce or eliminate negotiation, and increase profitability.
