tessalearner:
“I feel obligated to finish now that I ordered it.” Tessa wasn’t a quitter even in the most ridiculous sense of the term. “But I may be stealing a sip of your drink. How are you?”
“You are better than me, I can’t handle gross things,” Erika said with my smile. “You are more than welcome to, I’m good though. Residency is an ass kicker though. I’m still trying to settle on a specialty. How are you?”
tessalearner:
Her nose cringed from the smell and Tessa suddenly remembered how much she hated liquor. The day was hard enough that she threw the shot back. As soon as the warm liquor slid down her throat she gagged. “We should’ve got wine.”
“You’re the one who wanted to try something new today,” Erika teased. “We can just order wine.”
You forget that you do choose your life and there are so many things to be grateful for and I feel like society has gotten to that point where we’re always looking for the next and the better and we lose sight of what’s actually in front of us.
krxsradford:
“—what? Oh- uh, watching Jessica Meir talk kind of inspired me to… well, this,” Kris chuckled slightly as they gestured to the various items scattered around them. “Doing a science experiment for fun.”
Erika watched how excited Kris was about what they were doing, but Erika was a little puzzled at what she was talking about. “What’s the experiment?”
“…fight me,” I mumble from where I’m lying motionless under three different blankets with no intention of moving any time soon.
She was hot! A lot of the dads were staring. I saw erections.
krxsradford:
Wordlessly, Kris pulled Erika into an embrace.
Erika wrapped her arms around them and squeezed slightly. She had really missed Kris, and it felt good to be this close to them again.
krxsradford:
“Right.” Kris hummed, not convinced but not about to question it. They were just happy to see Erika again. “Glad to see you.”
Erika always did her best to not throw her problems onto Kris, she always figured they had gone through enough. Being in their presence was already making the ginger feel better. “Likewise, am I going to get a hug?”
tessalearner:
“I have bad news for you. The weather has been awful lately. Rain and clouds, I’m missing the sun California is known for.” Tessa knew that Erika was going through a rough time. She desperately wished she knew how to help but at the least she was happy to see Erika in person again. “Here I was thinking you came back for me.”
“Damn it, that leaves just your beautiful face to brighten up my day then,” Erika said with a chuckle. Tess was clearly no stranger to Erika’s struggles, since the redhead spilled her guts to her whenever she had a chance through text. In person though- she couldn’t break down. “How are you?”
“I-uhm- I missed the weather?” Erika said with a shrug. Obvious lie but she wasn’t gonna buckle down and start spilling about her stress in New Hampshire.

Kris: Wanna Skype soon?
Luna: I'm almost done work so maybe in like an hour?
She was in me, in my blood, invading every cell in my body. She was the one I wanted. She was the one I saw, felt, desired.

Erika: I don't know if I'm gonna get into med school
Erika: I already stayed back a year for college
Erika: And the thought of actually working this hard and not get in
Erika: I
Erika: What if I'm a failure? What if I really am just nothing more than the slut from high school
Erika: You probably have enough on your plate though so
Erika: I just miss you
“It is our responsibility to stay engaged. If we don’t do it, no one will. And it doesn’t matter the color of your skin. I don’t know what side of history my ancestors were on, but I do know what side of history I will be on.” — Shailene Woodley
