Erik nodded at her words, knowing the truth of them to an extent. âIt is, youâre right,â he mused, nodding as she continued talking. He couldnât help but raise an eyebrow at her words though, shaking his head a little. âThis isnât meant to be a judgement but you sound a little bit like a workaholic,â he told her lightly, smiling as he spoke.Â
His grin widened as he watched her blush at his words. It thrilled him to know he could cause a woman to blush just by a few well placed words. In his mind, he knew women well. âI may be a charmer but itâs also the truth,â he told her, giving her a playful smile. âAnd youâre very welcome.â
Erik chuckled then at her next words. âI can tell,â he said with a grin, reaching for a menu to glance through it easily. âBut thatâs not necessarily a bad thing,â he continued, smiling as he glanced up at her. His smile widened more genuinely then; heâd always enjoyed the Christmastime. âIt was very good, thank you. My family is large and we always get together for Christmas. What about you? Did you do anything for Christmas?â he asked curiously. It seemed unnatural to him for people to be alone on Christmas.Â
Love laughed lightly, she didnât take it as such but there were truth to his words and it wasnât something she was going to throw off; âYou know, I will neither confirm nor deny that, but I will say that my office is a place where I am happy to beâ taking a breath before continuing; âAnd I donât mind the work that I do-⊠socialising isnât a really big thing for meâ sure she went out with friends every now and then but it wasnât something she was big on.
âOf course, I donât think of you as the type of person to lie-âŠâ she had only met him twice but she was a person who was all too trusting of others, she wanted them to like her ( not necessarily romantically but ) she was a people pleaser and she knew this of herself; âI think your charm is definitely part of your character and itâs nice to be aroundâ that wasnât a lie and she wasnât going to hide the fact that she didnât like him complimenting her.
âIf it does become a bad thing though-⊠please tell me like, I can talk till the cows come homeâ and no one wanted that; âOh thatâs nice my parents-âŠuh, we havenât gotten together in a long timeâ but this was something she knew and had accepted; âLike we call each other-⊠but that was about itâ Lovelynâs family and her werenât exactly close and that was okay, she was a person of her independence but at the same time hearing of families did make her envious and want to have that.
