Michael Fassbender as Erik Lehnsherr / Magneto in X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014)
xlorna-danex:
Jesus, how old are you– it was sarcasm. You definitely haven’t seen it all.
Do yourself the future favor and watch the sarcasm. Really, then? Try me.
xlorna-danex:
I bet you’ve seen it all, haven’t you.
Well, aren’t you quick with the assumptions, girl.
xlorna-danex:
Good- keep it that way.
Trust me, green hair is tame from what I’ve seen.
xlorna-danex:
What– never seen someone with green hair?
It’s not my place to judge physical appearances.
one-eyed-summers:
“And yet you admonish me for hiding away from everything with my brother when I haven’t been with him for years. You goddamn hypocrite. You hide for your safety, yet you bully those who say you should have stepped up sooner.” Scott seethed. He wasn’t one of those people that did what anyone said just because they were mutants like him– he didn’t immediately fall to Erik’s feet just because he had the power to escape once; he wouldn’t let anyone have that power over him, especially not a mutant like Erik or Jack. They were all the same in the end; need for control running so deep that it blurred the lines between black and white. Scott should have known Erik would lash out, and deep down he did know; closing his eyes just in time as he felt the glasses leave his face. “You don’t get what you want and you lash out like a goddamn child,” Scott spat out, “you think those are so precious to me that I need them? Do it. Crush them– I’ve lived without sight far long before the Brotherhood, I’ve had this used as a punishment before. It’s not fucking new. Go ‘head, prove me exactly right and fuck me over by destroying the one thing keeping myself in check with ease, I’ll only laugh at your fake attempt to label yourself from the Brotherhood. I will never fear you, no matter how terrifying you try to make yourself to me; I’ve always seen worse and I don’t need you to parade around like a goddamn fake messiah to the mutants.”
“You wouldn’t need to live in fear because of it, Summers. Unlike you and your brother, I have no one to protect, hell, my own children would rather seek the company of others than their own blood.” And possibly that had little to do with Erik’s personality. The Maximoff’s discovering the father who raised them wasn’t the person they thought he was warranted frustrating rejection when all he wanted was getting to know the twins. He barely scraped by with Pietro and Wanda remained another uphill battle altogether. “If you think me pushing you from your comfort zone is my way of lashing out, you’ve read the entire conversation backwards.” Erik lifted Scott’s red-tinted glasses, examining the frames observantly and releasing a long sigh. “In spite of what you know, Scott, I do regret not helping everyone within the Brotherhood like I should have. I knew if I failed in any way, made one simple mistake...I would be right where I started and I’d be damned if I let them chain me up again.” After a long thoughtful moment, he slid the accessory back on the boy’s face, “You aren’t meant to fear me and I’d prefer no mutant ever did. If we turned on each other, we’re just ignoring the real problem of our already cruel world.”
psychicxelizabeth:
Doesn’t mean one won’t die. The whole world is watching her, though it’s interesting to learn your particular connection to her… Magneto.
“People die every day.” Erik shrugged off the comment before his brow slowly rose. “Let me guess, telepath. And why does my connection interest you so much?”
xbo-chenx:
Hopefully not in the streets– that’s dangerous.
Not when they have the capabilities to stop a speeding car with a flick of the wrist.
doc-devereaux:
There really isn’t much of SHIELD left to use me, Mr. Lehnsherr. SHIELD isn’t a dominant power as it once was.
We are always being used in the real world no matter what powers you possess. Right, the avengers left SHIELD’s foundation in shambles the last I recall.
doc-devereaux:
Who says I’m wasting my time? I’m right where I need to be. You should know that if I weren’t with them, I’d be with the Brotherhood– and SHIELD is by far the lesser of two evils.
Placed in the wrong hands, SHIELD is merely one bad day away from turning into the Brotherhood. You aren’t working for them, doctor. They’re using you.
doc-devereaux:
‘Getting into your patient’s head’ sounds rather invasive if you ask me. I go no further into their minds than what they desperately want me to hear– curious how you know this, however.
It’s a simple technique even without abilities. Do you think I wouldn’t overhear information straight from the horse’s mouth while in the Brotherhood especially when it concerns other mutants? You shouldn’t be wasting your time at SHIELD.
psychicxelizabeth:
Most parents would be more concerned when their kids are trying to kill each other.
Oh, I am concerned, no doubt about that, but I know my children don’t want the other dead.
I suppose the children are out having their fun playing.
one-eyed-summers:
I guess that was just enough of an excuse for you to turn tail and run from those who needed help, huh?
I don’t need advice from a burnt out mutant who only shows up in the lives of those who are in trouble to make an attempt at feeling almighty and relevant. I don’t need your help, never did. If I know anything about you, it’s that you’re only out for yourself.
That’s rich coming from the expert in cowardice. It was my choice to go underground for my own safety and I would have come back sooner to help you had I not been preoccupied with other matters.
Erik immediately reached out a hand and used his abilities to yank Scott’s glasses from the boy’s face, allowing what appeared to be a valuable possession land in his hand. “Do not mistake my offered guidance as selfishness, Summers. You are the one hiding away in the dismal filth that you call an apartment while your big brother fights your battles for you. The monster in your life made you feel helpless and you have only yourself to blame believing your gifts cannot destroy the man who took everything from you. We’re on the same side here, so do not make me your enemy or shattered glasses will be the least of your worries. You know that I’m right.”
doc-devereaux:
If I wasn’t astute myself, I wouldn’t make a very good psychiatrist, now would I?
From what I hear, you don’t need astuteness to get into your patient’s head.
doc-devereaux:
That’s very astute of you.
I am an astute man.
Then again, you’re an astute woman, doctor.
one-eyed-summers:
Yeah, but not all of us can do what you did.
You can’t see the glaringly obvious thing, can you? I can’t. I’m not the fighter– I’m not my brother.
None of you were willing to try.
And who is stopping you from becoming the fighter, boy? Stop saying what you can’t do and stand up for yourself for once. This mopping and these excuses aren’t doing you a favor.
