What I want to know is how this whole thing works with Ireland. Like thinking about Hogwarts school system in general is… wild. But like, we know Seamus was Irish, but like… is he from Northern Ireland? Does the Republic of Ireland have its own school or do they go to Hogwarts? Does Rowling really think that, yes, after 800 years of oppression and the whole Rebellion stuff all these Irish Wizards were just like “yes, totally good to send our kids to England”. I want answers. Like I get that okay, the Brits only had rule from, what, 1200s on? But… still… not great. Is there a different type of magic? Like there’s the Latin Magic that they practice at Hogwarts and apparently other places? Does this correlate with like the Roman Empire? Or would Irish Magic be different and in Gaeilge? The Romans never invaded Ireland so how does that work? How does that work Scotland bc the Romans never invaded there either?
