âRealize that anyone who tries to put you down about your appearance is assuming that it is your job to please them visually. Once you realize that it isnât your job to be visually pleasing to anyone, ever, it becomes very hard for anyone to make you feel bad about yourself.â
â Skeptifem
Not to be like âwe live in a societyâ but I think a lot of peopleâs mental health would be significantly less fucked if they didnât have to function in a system that forces them to think about their value as a human being as based on how productive they are/how much money people can make off them
Sade -Â âWhen Am I Going To Make A Livingâ (1984).
Shout out to all the people that have a hard time this time of year because Christmas is a really shitty time emotionally for them.
Shout out to the people who have a hard time at Christmas because they canât be with their families.
Shout out to the people who have to spend Christmas with a family that they find it difficult to spend time with for whatever reason.
Shout out to all the people being forced to spend time with a family that they neither particularly love nor care for just because âitâs Christmasâ.
Shout out to the people that have no-one to spend Christmas with at all and yet have to put up with all the festive advertising of all the smiling families.
Shout out to everyone who have lost people to the pandemic so Christmas is now a time of grief and sadness, not joy.
Shout out to anyone that just hates Christmas generally - itâll all be over soon for another year.
You don't know what someone is having to deal with this time of year, so be kind.
