Frat parties didn’t hold much appeal to Brooke. Once she
had lived through a little bit of her experience at college,
she realized just about each && every one was the same.
Some gross, smelly frat house basement, a few kegs, &&
some disgustingly sweet mixed drink that some of the
brothers threw together, putting just about any sort of
booze they could get their hands on into the concoction, in
attempt to get the girls all good and liquored up. Still, she
went, because it was what she was supposed to do, &&
more often than not, even with all that weighing against it,
she still managed to have a decent time. Tonight, however,
she was looking forward to this party as if it was winter
formal. The blame was all at the hands of her coffee-shop
guy. No one could have someone that cute waiting on them
&& not be at least a little bit excited. So, she made careful
work of primping — she had to look good, but not TOO good.
It was a casual occasion. She didn’t want him thinking she
was high maintenance or anything —— although, admittedly,
sometimes she could be. It was nearly forty-five minutes
after the official start of the party before Peyton could get her
to leave the house. It was better that way. She hated to be
the first to arrive.
Once inside, her eyes scanned the crowded room for any
sign of her new favorite blonde ( sorry P. Sawyer, but he’s
like — way cute ). It wasn’t long before she spotted him &&
made her approach, her best friend flanking her side. Thank
her lucky stars, he had a friend for Peyton — one that the girl
already had on her radar, so it seemed. Once the other
duo made their way to who knows where, they were finally
alone — other than the sea of co-eds around them, but …
details, right ?? ”It’d be no fun if I showed up on time. You
would’ve missed out on all that anticipation. Will she??
Won’t she ?? I’ve got to keep you on your toes, handsome.”
"Well, you reckon you could give my toes a break for the night?"
he teases, eyes alight with mischief. A smirk drips onto his lips
and he proclaims, "my feet are killing me," wryly. She looks
better than he remembers so he commits the image to memory,
sure that it'll be revisited throughout the week if the last few days
were anything to go by. Seguing, 'So,' with
excessive nonchalance he remarks, "We've had mixers with your
sorority before." Once he knew who she was, infamous in greek
circles, Lucas was more than a little surprised they hadn't crossed
paths sooner. "I never would have pegged the pastry stealer for
the life of the party." Lucas grins and comments, "I'm pretty sure
I heard whispers about a party you threw in high school being
shut down by police. Any truth to the rumor?" Skills wasn't exactly
the most reliable source when his source was Bevin.
