I know we get to see a lot of Rocky and Adrian having mate marks of one anothers carapace, but might I suggest Grace growing his hair out on Erid and secretly collaborating with a science team to cremate his hair into carbon then pressing into gems to give to Rocky and Adrian? That way they have a physical part of ryland to keep in them forever and don't have to like wait till he dies to do so.... Many such thoughts... They make me sick

What if after Grace saved Rocky and decided he's going back to Erid with him Rocky was all "Well I'm sure Grace is going to put himself back into a coma for the four year journey like he did on the way here and being alone again won't emotionally destroy me to my breaking point it's fine everything is fine"

But then Grace goes "are you kidding as if I'd pass up four years of hanging out with my best friend it's going to be one giant non-stop movie night sleepover fun time bump my fist good buddy"

And then Rocky explodes from happiness the end

Living with a mammal must be so LOUD for rocky. all that blood rushing, all those joints creaking, muscle fibers contracting, intestines groaning and swooshing, synovial fluid popping. the slick swivel of eyeballs every single time grace moves his eyes. the whumbump of his heart, constant. how fine is rocky’s hearing? can he hear the click of grace’s glottis opening before he speaks? can rocky hear the crackle of his alveoli exchanging gas? maybe, he thinks, if he listens closely enough he can hear the electrical impulses of grace’s grey matter as he dreams :)
