I know that you probably don't find this date special. But it's a very happy day for me, for my country. On this day, in 1989, Czech students started the Velvet revolution, which lead to the fall of comunism in Czechoslovakia (now we're separated states). You might know the name of Václav Havel, who was the leading person of these events and later, our president.

It's The Students' Day as well.

I want to encourage everyone to express their opinion, in a peacefull way. Everyone has the power to make a difference. And even when no one hears you (I'm sure at least someone does), you have the good feeling in your heart. You know you didn't stay silent, when others thought you're supposed to. 

Be heard.

Freedom is useless, if we don't use it. The gift my nation gave to me 25 years ago would be for nothing. 

Whatever country you come from, I'm sure you have similar examples from our own history. We should be grateful, we should be active, so one day, whe can give the same gift to next generations.
