URGENT: GSD Puppy Needs Rescue ASAP
If you can provide a loving foster home for Pancho, please go to https://www.charliedog.org/services and let us know, we will try to find a rescue to work with you to pull and sponsor Pancho while in your care.
Baltimore County Animal Services is urgently seeking rescue placement. Pancho is a 10 month old GSD mix that was surrendered to us this morning. Pancho has shown behavior consistent with an under socialized German Shepherd that is only used to the people he has lived with. Upon intake he was reactive towards people while in the presence of his surrendering owner which appeared to be protective behavior. Once the owner left, Pancho was able to be handled and pet by staff without issue and taken to our vet room. In our vet room, Pancho appeared outwardly nervous (understandably), and a muzzle was placed as a precaution, but he was able to be lifted onto the scale without issue. Pancho did become trigger stacked towards the end and lunged and made contact with our vet’s hand, but did not break skin. Pancho has shown social interest in other dogs, but can be a bit pushy initially when meeting them. Due to the level of socialization Pancho needs, as well as him being a bite risk, he is only available to a 501c3 rescue partner.

BLIND AND DEAF SENIOR NEEDS RESCUE PLACEMENT! - Baltimore, MD
If you can provide a loving foster home for Sunglow, please go to https://www.charliedog.org/services and let us know, we will try to find a rescue to work with you to pull and sponsor Sunglow while in your care.
Sunglow (Mufasa)(Shanks) - neutered male, 14.5yo, 18.8lbs
Sunglow was brought to the shelter as a stray on 1/13. He is not new to the system, he was here once before in 2023, and now he urgently needs a rescue placement.
Sunglow is facing significant medical challenges. He has a fractured left upper canine, a cherry eye in his right eye, and mature cataracts in both eyes, leaving him blind in his right eye with likely limited vision in his left. He does not respond to loud sounds and appears to be largely deaf. Additional findings include multiple small skin masses (including one on his right ear), and a mild systolic heart murmur (grade 1/6).
Despite everything his body has been through, Sunglow’s spirit is gentle and kind. He has consistently been described as sweet, calm, and tolerant, handling exams and care with grace while seeking quiet, gentle affection.
Since 1/22, Sunglow has been settling into a foster home, where he has proven to be a polite, easy house guest, further showing how well he can thrive in a calm, stable environment.
Due to his significant vision and hearing impairments and ongoing medical needs, rescue placement is strongly recommended so Sunglow can receive the treatment, support, and low-stress life he deserves.
A full medical summary is available upon request.

FINAL PLEA! Buddy: 3y/o Pittie Needs Rescue
If you can provide a loving foster home for Buddy, please go to https://www.charliedog.org/services and let us know, we will try to find a rescue to work with you to pull and sponsor Buddy while in your care.
Buddy Needs Rescue
3 Years, 41lbs
Meet Buddy, a 3-year-old pittie in need of rescue. Originally surrendered into our care in 2023, Buddy was adopted later that year. Unfortunately, that placement did not become the happy ending we had hoped for, and Buddy has found himself back in our care.
In his previous home, Buddy was described as a loving, affectionate lap dog who enjoys playtime and did well living alongside the family’s resident kitten. He forms strong bonds with his people and thrives once he feels comfortable in his environment.
Buddy can be reserved and cautious when meeting new people, and while in the home he was reported to have shown discomfort specifically around one individual, which ultimately resulted in a bite incident. It is important to note that this behavior was isolated to that situation and person.
Buddy would benefit from placement with a committed, experienced rescue that can continue to support him with structure, patience, and positive reinforcement, and help set him up for success in a carefully matched home. We truly believe Buddy has the potential to be a wonderful companion in the right environment.
If your rescue is able to help Buddy, please reach out.

I love these decorations far more than the giant light-up things that make noise. More “spoopy” less “my decoration will kill you”.
