Hi, I'm Estella! I'm the owner of this blog. Stella, Stelle, Star, Elle/Ella are all fine things to call me, too. I use She/Her pronouns, but don't really care what pronouns you use for me.
This blog is for anything and everything Aphverse related, but more specifically for the Ro'Meave's. To be even more specific; Zane. He's my one true blorbo lol. Feel free to ask me anything about my opinions on things, my headcanons, ship, etc.
I decided to post a little bit of the Zanemau fic I mentioned in my previous post. If you did not read my last post; This takes place in a Bridgerton-like era, but with the same magic and such from the original series.
This is NOT the full story/onehsot. The story below contains the first two days of their engagement.
Let me know how you feel about the color-coded text, because I'm not sure how I feel of it.

1. "Why must I have to be the one to marry him?! He's so... odd and menacing!" Aphmau complained whilst pacing around the living room, her long skirt swirling against her calves as she did. "Because he chose you, my darling. Why he did, I do not know. However, you mustn't look at this so negatively, Aphmau. While the Lord may have a blunt personality, you have known him since childhood! He may treat you better than the rest of the commune!" Sylvanna tried to relax her daughter while following her around the room.
2. "But mother, we are NOT as close as we were as children! Now, we only talk when necessary and whenever we do, he's all peevish!" Aphmau said in a panic while continuing to pace around the room. Sylvanna grabbed Aphmau's arms after letting out a sigh, making sure that her daughter could no longer continue her pacing. "Oh, dearest... Please, I urge you to try. I know Lord Zane is not the sweet boy you once knew... but we need him. I hate to have to rely on you for coins, but... having you marry him is the best way to get us out of the debts your father put us in. Please, my dear... If not for love, do it for me..." Sylvanna pleaded as she caressed Aph's face.
3. After a few, careful seconds of consideration, Aphmau let out a sigh before nodding and sighing. "Okay, Mother... I'll marry him... But I'll marry him to help us, not for love." She stated whilst giving her mother a hug, her mind racing with the potential future she had with her fiancé. She still did not understand why she, of all ladies, had to marry the seemingly constantly annoyed man. They no longer got along like they once did when they were children, and Aphmau had not noticed any hints of romantic feelings in the few interactions they've shared over the past few years. Was he hiding his feelings from her? Was his supposedly hidden feelings the reason why they grew incredibly distant and they grew from children to teenagers to adults?
4. All questions and no answers were all she had for days. She thought these questions as she bathed, as she dressed, as she shopped, as she worked... She never stopped wondering, not even when she finally had the chance to speak with him. Once she had him alone, she slowly walked up to him with a stern face. "Lord Ro'Meave, may we speak?" Aph asked with slight exasperation. "You are to be my wife in 9 days, Aphmau. You may refer to me by my first name." Zane said through gritted teeth, seeming to try to keep at least some emotional distance between them as he flipped through some notes.
5. "Alright... Well, Zane... I'd like to know why you chose me to marry out of everyone in the commune." Aph cut to the chase, making sure to maintain eye contact with her former friend. Zane sighed whilst avoiding her eyes, looking back at his finance notes for the rather than answering her. Aphmau wanted to raise her voice, but instead, she kept herself eased and spoke again in a calm, soft voice. "Zane... Were we not friends once? I understand that we are no longer as close as we once were, but those years of being close friends must still mean as much to you as they do to me. Please, Zane... tell me why. I deserve to know."
6. "My mother wishes for me to marry soon, but she knows that I'd simply pick a girl at random and marry her just so she'd quit her bothersome behavior. She wants me to be in love... So, I decided to marry you. You and I were once friends, as you've said. She'll believe that I'm 'in love' with you due to our past, and she'll be glad that I haven't plucked a random girl off the street." Zane explained while putting his notes in a neat pile, stunning Aphmau a tad. Her brows furrowed as her mouth opened to let out a statement of sheer shock and awe. "Should you agree to this without more questions, I will do everything I can to provide for you and your mother, no matter the circumstances." Zane slipped in, not letting Aphmau state her shock verbally.
7. Aph's face softened a bit as she weighed her options. It was no secret that her father had abandoned her and her mother after racking up immense debt under their family name, leaving her and Silvanna as working class. On the other hand, she wanted to marry for love! She did not love Zane. She only tolerated him now. However, her own mother had begged her to agree to the marriage so their family may go back to being nobles, so they wouldn't have to stoop to doing or selling undesirable things for coins. "If we should marry..." Aphmau started to say in a soft tone as she walked a little closer to Zane. "I wish for us to be friends once more. I can live with us not being in love, but I cannot be in a marriage where I merely tolerate you."
8. "If it shall convince you to go along with this..." Zane started to say with an exaggerated sigh. "Then, I guess, I shall attempt to rekindle our old friendship with you." A soft, subtle smile graced Aphmau's face at the compromise. With a soft 'thank you' to Zane, she exited the building. The next day, she had a letter from him, asking her to head to Zane's residence's parlor as soon as she possibly could. The moment she finished reading the letter, she dashed to his estate, fearing the worst. However, when she was allowed into the house and into the living room by one of the maids, everything was perfectly fine. Zane, wearing his signature scowl, was sitting on his bench across from a white-haired, green-eyed man.
9. With soft, hesitant steps, Aphmau walked further into the living room before sitting beside Zane, her eyes glaring at the other man warily. "You must be the fake bride we've been waiting for! My name is Travis, and I'll be helping you two be 'in love' before the wedding!" Said the white-haired boy, who's apparently named Travis, in a cheerful tone. "Oh... Is that right...? May I simply ask who in the name of Irene you are...?" Aph asked in a very off-put tone as her body tensed up. "...My name is Travis-" "I understood that. I meant... where did you come from? I do not recognize you from the commune." Aphmau cut him off with a twinge of irritation, wanting to know exactly who this albino boy was.
10. "Oh, I'm a mage and a love expert! That's why the Lord chose me to train you two!" Travis stated with a proud smile. "No, I hired you to make us a love potion, not for these ludicrous lessons." Zane immediately corrected bluntly, Aphmau still looking rather confused next to him. "Unfortunately, those cute little potions require ingredients that I've run out of. So, until then, Love Lessons!" Said Travis with a pout before standing up, somehow bringing out a board and chalk, and beginning to write. 'How to Love 101' Travis wrote on the board before turning back to the dark-haired 'couple.'
11. "First things first," The white-haired boy started to say before taking Zane's left hand and placing it on Aphmau's thigh. The two panicked at the sudden touch, for some reason panicking harder when Travis made Aph hold the hand that was on her thigh. "Learning how to touch each other! Zane here is a public figure, so you two need to learn how to make everyone believe you're in love through touch! Since you'll be his wife, Miss Shalashaska, you'll be right there with him, so this is important!" Travis explained, completely ignoring the increasing redness of the faces in front of him, as he turned back to the board and wrote 'Loving Touches' underneath his original writings.
12. Zane immediately pulled his hand away and rose to his feet, his usually pale face rapidly turning red with anger and embarrassment. "ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! I- ... I will BEGRUDINGLY go along with wherever idiotic plans you have in mind for the time being, but NOT this! I refuse to be affectionate with her in public! It is HIGHLY unseemly for a man like me to be so.. indecent." He said whilst trying his best to keep his temper in check. Aphmau rose to her feet as well, her voice just as upset and concerned. "I have to agree with the Lor-.. with Zane. How do you think the commune would react if they saw him intimately touching a woman in public? Not only would it greatly ruin Zane's image, but it would paint me as a.. worker of the night who got lucky."
13. Travis thought for a second before slumping down a bit with a pout. "Fine, fine... You two are rather up-tight." The white-haired boy said spitefully as he walked over to his chalkboard and erased everything he wrote with an eraser he somehow managed to get. As Travis erased his work on the board, one of Zane's staff entered the room with a bow. "I'm very sorry to interrupt, but your mother is here, Lord Ro'Meave. She's currently waiting for you in the parlor. Should you like for me to send her up here?" The worker informed the two politely. Zane and Aphmau shared a nervous look before looking back to where the mage was... only to see that the boy was no longer there. Not only that, but he had taken his magically appearing and reappearing chalkboard and accessories with him!
14. "Uhh... Yes, that's perfect. We'll wait here for her." Zane responded after a second of hesitation, making Aphmau panic a bit more. Once the worker exited the room, Zane turned his attention back to Aphmau and placed his hand on top of hers before speaking once more. "You CANNOT panic like this, Aphmau. Remember, we are 'in love.' We are to be wed in 8 days. We are happy, eager. Before she gets here, what will ease your nerves? Anything at all?" Zane spoke with urgency in his tone, his one visible eye staring directly into hers.
15. "Y-You should take off your mask... a-and take your hair away from your face! It'll make your mother believe that you're comfortable with me!" Aphmau blurted out the first thought that came to mind through deep breaths. Zane paused in shock for a few seconds before hastily doing as told, putting his mask in one of his pockets as he moved his hair to the side, letting his almost invisible iris be seen.
16. He did it just in time, as his mother walked into the room just a few seconds later. "Good evening, my son... Miss Shalashaska! Oh, how wonderful it is to see you! The last I saw you, you were still in your pinafores! Wait... does this mean you are to marry my darling boy?!" The Lady Ro'Meave exclaimed happily as she sat on the bench opposite of them, her lengthy black hair done in a curled updo. She paused and stared at her son's bare face for a few seconds before letting a smile return to her face. Having them in the same room together, it was clear that Zane took almost all of his mother's genes. "Yes, mother. Aphmau is to be my bride. All that's left to do is get her bridal gown finished for the wedding." Zane responded calmly as he fidgeted with his dress shirt subtly, his nerves getting to him a tad.
17. Unfortunately, Lady Ro'Meave immediately noticed her son's fidgeting and sighed softly. "Miss Shalashaska, may you leave my son and I to talk in privacy?" Aphmau and Zane both remained silent before Aph slowly stood up and gracefully, but quickly, exited the room with a bow. She couldn't help the relieved exhale she let out once she had left the room. She was pleased to see Lady Ro'Meave again after all these years, but she doubted that she'd be able to convince her of her and Zane's relationship. Having nothing else to do, Aphmau began to wander the halls and examine the many portraits that dawned the walls.
18. Among the many portraits was a full family portrait. A blonde father, a black-haired mother, a blonde older brother, Zane, and a completely different looking son. The odd-one-out kid wasn't the one that caught Aphmau's attention, though; it was Child Zane. His face was uncovered, and he wasn't blind! His right eye looked perfectly normal, the same beautiful cyan shade as his left. Aph caught herself staring at the family portrait before she moved onto the next , occasionally taking another glance at it. Eventually, as she made her way down the hall, she was called back into the parlor by Lady Ro'Meave.
19. With her hands folded, the door clicked shut, leaving only the faint crackle of the fireplace between her and Zane as Lady Ro'Meave left the room with a soft smile. For a few seconds, neither spoke. Aphmau's gaze drifted upward - not to his uncovered face, but to the memory of the portrait still etched into her mind. "Zane..." She began softly, her voice lacking its usual sharpness. "In the hall... I saw the family portrait. Your face was uncovered. And your eye..." She hesitated before forcing herself to meet his gaze. "What happened to it? Why do you cover it?"
20. Zane immediately whipped his head around to look at her, his face seeming shocked.. and a little distressed... A pause fell upon them, his eyes not leaving hers. After a few moments, Zane sighed and returned his gaze to the fireplace. "I see... It's not odd that you don't remember, as we were just children then." Zane muttered to himself as Aphmau sat in front of him where Zianna was once sitting. "Don't remember what..?" Another bout of silence befell them. Aphmau opened her mouth to speak once more when Zane finally answered her.
21. "My brother, Garroth, and I were in the midst of a private class. You and your parents were there since our families got on quite well." Zane started to explain, catching Aphmau's attention quickly. Her mind started to run rampant with ideas on how this happened before her fiancé could even finish. "We were being taught to wield magic using magical artifacts. I received an enchanted ring that was still a little too big for my finger, so I wore it as a necklace... Our goal was to be able to conjure a shield to protect us from an attack from the other."
22. Aphmau was practically on the edge of her seat. This was the first time she'd ever even heard of the priest using magic. He kept magic use very controlled in the commune, even making it so that you needed a certificate to use magic in their area. Maybe she'd know why now... "However... Garroth became too cocky. He threw out a spell without the instructor's permission, before I was ready... I didn't have time to react properly. Before I knew it, in the blink of an eye, I was being seen by a physician due to my odd vision... It was the first time I'd ever seen my brother so scared, and my mother so angry." Zane explained further, much to Aphmau's shock. She couldn't believe it, being hurt so heavily by his own brother at such a young age.
23. "Is that why you are so.. upset with magic use in the town..?" Aphmau asked softly as she put her hand to lips in her continued state of shock. Zane, still not breaking his gaze with the fireplace, nodded. Silence befell them again, only thing to be heard being their breathing and the crackling of the fireplace. "You moved to the countryside shortly after..." Zane muttered so quietly that Aphmau could barely make out a few words. Once again, before Aphmau could speak once more, Zane snapped out of his trance and regained most of his composure. "Though, none of that matters. We've lost focus of the real problem at hand; this farce of a relationship."
24. Of course, just when she thought she was getting somewhere... Instead of voicing her thoughts, Aphmau simply sighed and nodded before adding to their conversation on their situation. "Well... How long will your mother be staying? If she's staying for a while, it will be a bit more work to convince her of our love." She stated as her eyes shifted, still trying to process the prior information. "She will be staying with me until after the wedding. So, yes, it will be quite.. troublesome." Zane spoke bluntly as he rose from his seat and fixed his mask back onto his face.
25. After Zane made his hasty exit, Aphmau sat there for a moment longer. She had received something she hadn't expected from the usually cold and blunt priest; vulnerability. She had to know more of this traumatic situation. Making haste, Aphmau quickly left the estate and made her way home. Sitting in the parlor was her mother, Silvanna, looking quite worried. "Oh, my dearest! Where have you been? You took off the moment you received that letter! Do you know how scared you made me?" She spoke immediately, anger and worry lacing her tone as she gave Aphmau a big hug.
26. "I'm sorry, Mother... Th-The later was from Zane. His- uh- His mother unexpectedly came to town, and she wanted to see me before our big day!" Aphmau semi-explained, not wanting her mother to really know about her and Zane's 'love lessons.' "Oh? Zianna's here? Oh my.. I haven't seen her since you and her boys were children! I shall have to stop by and see how she's been doing." Silvanna said in a calmer tone as she released Aph from the hug. A small pause silenced the mother-daughter duo.
27. "Speaking of us as children.. is it really true about what happened to Zane's eye..?" Aphmau inquired curiously as she and her mother started to slowly walk upstairs. "About.. his older brother striking him in the eye with magic?" Sylvanna sighed and looked away from Aphmau's eyes. As she squeezed Aph's hands, the two stopped at the bottom of the stairs. "Yes, dearest.. it is... How much did he tell you?" Sylvanna confirmed, her fingers gently rubbing Aphmau's hands. "Well... He told me that it happened during a lesson with.. 'Garroth'?" Sylvanna nodded in response before Aphmau continued speaking. "Garroth fired at him without instruction. He said that.. he had never seen his mother so furious before..?"
28. "In all honesty, I hadn't either. If my memory serves me right, she could barely look at Garroth afterwards..." Sylvanna recalled with a solemn expression before continuing. "Garte, Zane's father? He could barely handle it himself. Before Zianna and I stopped writing to each other, she spoke of how Garte wouldn't stop searching for healers to rid Zane's eye of its blindness." Aphmau gasped softly. Losing sight in one eye was a serious injury by itself, but hearing about Garte and Zianna's desperation made her realize just how frightened they had truly been.
I feel like Zianna and Garte would've had the Ro'Meave brothers learn instruments and try sports when they were in highschool to be more "worldly." We already know how sports went (only Garroth was sporty). How about the music?
Garroth somewhat learned to play the electric guitar just to show off to others in highschool. I say somewhat because he only did a few lessons before getting bored and stopping. He definitely still used what little he learned to try picking up girls, though.
As an adult, Garroth decided to start learning the average guitar, and actually sticks with it. He ends up buying his own guitar, too. He even plays in his free-time, outside of lessons. He's pretty focused with his guitar, so he's not planning on learning other instruments soon.
Zane learned to play the piano. He was very uninterested at first, as he didn't see the point in learning an instrument. However, as he continued his lessons, he found himself getting more interested in it and found a genuine passion for the piano.
As an adult, Zane no longer practices the piano, but still remembers how to play it. If given the chance to play a piano again, he goes all out. He wouldn't mind learning another instrument.
Vylad learned to play the average guitar in highschool, and completely stuck with it. He loved playing the guitar, and continues to in his adult life as he travels the world. He has no interest in any other instruments.
Now, the sports part of it. Zianna canonically has a little sports rule for her sons; you have to sign up for at least one sport. Zianna exempt Zane from the sports rule, so he didn't even have to sign up.
Canonically, Garroth plays baseball in highschool.
Zane does join an unofficial committee called The Jury, dedicated to disciplining other students. An actual sport, however, he does not play, since he's the exception.
Vylad does do fencing, but not for school, as they do not have a fencing club. He only does it because Zianna required the boys to sign up for at least one sport.
However, despite not actually signing up for a sport, in canon, Zane does try playing soccer with Vylad, Garroth, and Aphmau. He pretty much immediately gave that up, and never even attempted to sign up. What if he did end up enjoying it a little and signed up for the soccer club?
I can also see this being a fun way for the friend group to see Zane's full face for the first time.
Under IFAB Law 4, you cannot wear a standard cloth, surgical, or any face mask that covers only your nose and mouth during a soccer match for safety/breathing difficulty reasons.
So, Zane wouldn't be allowed to wear his face mask. He also, most likely, wouldn't be allowed to wear his hair in front of his face, even though his hair only covers the blind/unseeing eye. Under IFAB Law 4 again, he would be permitted to wear special goggles/eyewear to keep his remaining/functional eye safe from damage. So, his face, pale, half-blind, freckled, and all, would be completely exposed.
I think Garte has 3A curls. He keeps them pretty short. His hair is long enough to definitely see that there are curls there, but short enough that each curl is maybe only an inch or two long. He'll use some product to keep up with his appearance, but he won't go overboard with it. Just enough.
Zianna has 2A-2B hair. It's thick and dense, but she definitely knows how to take care of it. She likes keeping her hair long, but not too long. I think the longest she'd have it is a little over halfway down her back. She can make her hair curlier with products, but she prefers her natural hair as it is.
Garroth has Garte's 3A curls, but longer, maybe a little past his ears. Garroth's canonically hella high maintenance when it comes to his appearance, so I have not an inch of doubt in my mind that he uses the perfect concoction of products on his hair to keep it perfect and stylized.
Zane has a bit of a mix of the two. His natural hair is mostly 2C waves, but with the occasional 3A curls. However, he's constantly straightening his hair. He rarely has his waves and curls out. The only times he doesn't bother with straightening his hair is when it's humid, or if he's just not in the mood to do his hair that day. He usually keeps his hair above his shoulders, past his chin, but lets it grow out more as he gets older.
Vylad has 1C-2A hair, having gotten most of his genetics from his own father. He takes care of his hair, but doesn't use any extra products. He just uses shampoo and conditioner, and that's just fine for him. Like Garroth, he keeps his hair a little past his ears, but no longer than that.
Thinking of Zana/Zane~Chan again. Pre-relationship, post-feeling realization for each other. Bring back cringy courting!!!
They have feelings for each other, but are totally oblivious about the fact that the other feels the same way.
Nana is so in her feels that she ends up making a playlist filled with songs that either remind her of Zane, or makes her think about Zane.
Unbeknownst to her, Zane's doing the same exact thing; making a playlist of songs that remind him of/makes him think of Nana.
They find out about the playlists after a little bit of song-sharing via text with each other. One of them gets curious and decides to look at the other's account to see what music they like/usually listen to. It's there that they see the playlist titled with their name.
So Nana's playlist would be titled "Zane" for all the songs that remind her of Zane, and Zane's would be titled "Kawaii-Chan" (since he doesn't know her real name until after they start dating) for all the songs that remind him of Nana.
I can also see that, eventually, they'll start sending each other songs that remind them of the other. Like Nana could be going about her day and suddenly get a text from Zane with a link to a song, and vice versa.
I think the friend group would catch on, not by being told of the whole song exchange thing, but by noticing reactions to songs.
Nana hears a song that reminds her of Zane? She pauses for a second, smiles, looks the song up, adds it to the playlist, and sends it to Zane with an even bigger smile. Her mood noticably brightens for the rest of the day (if that's even possible for someone as bubbly as her).
Zane hears a song that reminds him of Nana? He continues to do whatever he was doing, but he's noticably paying attention to the song. He looks up the song, looks through the lyrics a few times, small smile, adds to playlist, sends to Nana. His mood brightens, too, but not as noticeably.
I can also see my little scenario happening during Minecraft Diaries, the alternate universe of Mystreet. Since Minecraft Diaries takes place during a fantasy medieval time, I had to take that into account. Btw, I have never seen Minecraft Diaries, so everything is just from my mind.
Instead of the blinding incident being during a snowball fight, it happened during a practice duel. Garroth and Zane were practicing with magic, and Garroth got too over confident. He fired at Zane despite not being instructed to. Since Zane wasn't prepared for an attack, he couldn't shield himself in anyway, and was struck in the eye by the magic Garroth had cast at him.
No matter what healer the family went to, none could fully extract the magic that remained in Zane's system, nor could they restore his eyesight. So, Garte went to a dark wizard/witch, someone who knew the dangers and potential healing abilities of dark magic as a last resort. Using a potion bought form them, Garte treated Zane with the elixir by pretending it was prescribed by one of the good healers they had seen.
Like in Mystreet, it didn't restore Zane's sight completely, but it did prevent and horrid long-lasting damage. However, it also had a side effect. The magic that was left in his system from the attack was made stronger, accelerated by the potion.
I have an idea about the Ro'Meave's and the forever potion experiments.
I don't remember much about the forever potions, as it's been YEARS since I last did a full watch of Mystreet. However, what I do remember is that Garte is one of 3 fathers on Mystreet who used the forever potion on his children. He explicitly used it on Garroth, which explains his unnatural strength despite being an average human (ie constantly breaking down doors, [unintentionally] causing Zane's blindness, having hard punches, etc). While the potion is usually used for mind control and the like, I'm assuming he used it on Garroth in small doses.
What if Garte did the same for Zane? After the events of the snowball incident (the aforementioned one where Zane lost his sight in his right eye), Garte was desperate to ensure this wouldn't affect Zane do the point of brain damage. So, whenever he could, he would somehow sneak Zane some of the forever potion.
It didn't completely heal Zane. He's still blind, but it's nowhere near as bad as it would've been had he not given him the potion. However, the potion boosted his "stats" the same way it boosted Garroth's. That explains Zane's unexpected strength and speed despite only having recently started working out (and possibly not even sticking with it).
I can also see it making Zane smarter than he would've been naturally. If it can control people's minds, grant wishes, and increase someone's physical stats, it can increase someone's mental stats as well.
Ro'Meave "genetics" headcanons pt. 3(?) it's mostly personality based this time. Also, didn't include Vylad in this one.. soz.
I love how Zane and Garroth got different aspects of their parents.
The most obvious of this is their appearance, which we've already covered. Garroth is a carbon copy of Garte (blond, tan, blue eyes), Zane is a carbon copy of Zianna (pale, black hair, nice figure).
The second one is their personalities.
Garroth has Zianna's personality. Easily happy, very emotional, loves out loud.
Zane moreso has Garte's personality + his own emo flair. Quiet, keeps to himself, loves in private.
The third is their style. Specifically, they inherit the willingness or lack thereof to change their styel.
Garroth wears blue/white plaid jackets and jeans. He'll change his style if he has to, but he'll stick with that most of the time.
Zane wears anything and everything on the grayscale (black, white, and gray). Occasionally, he'll dabble some blue in his outfit. He's slightly more experimental with his clothes. He keeps his outfits emo, but he'll more willing to change what kind of hoodies, pants, and accessories he wears. Like, he'll wear black skin-tight jeans one day, and baggy/bell-bottoms the next. He'll wear silver chains one day, gold bands the next.
Zianna is a fashionista. She's constantly aware of what's hot, what's new, what's trendy, and incorporating them into her outfits while still making sure she's her.
Garte is almost always in business casual. You can pry his slacks and button-ups from his cold, dead hands once he's in the grave, but no sooner than that.
I can see like a family shopping trip.
Garte and Garroth are looking at simple things. Garte's just looking at ties and the like. Garroth's looking at little trinkets to keep in his room and forget about.
Zane and Zianna are looking at actual clothes. They're both in their respective pants aisle looking for their size, feeling the quality of them, looking at designs, and getting 2 or 3 pairs each. Then, they do the same with shirts, occasionally showing something the other would like. Then, they go to the shoes.
The Z-Team walks out of the mall with about 3 new outfits.
The G-Team walks out of the mall with one bag each.
Now, cooking habits. Zane and Zianna are great cooks. Garte and Garroth aren't.
Garte and Garroth just follow the recipe and calls it a day. As long as their meal is fully cooked, they think it's fine. If Garroth does experiment, he doesn't put much thought into it, and his dish ends up a little.. horrid.
Zane and Zianna experiment a little more with the food. They're willing to stray from the recipe a bit to give their meals a little umph. These two are definitely in the kitchen during thanksgiving.
I think the reason why I love Zana/Zane-Chan is because of just how opposite they are in every sense of the word.
Zane's a boy, Nana's a girl.
Zane wears Black. Nana wears Pink. Even their hairs math their clothing colors.
Zane isn't doesn't like talking to people. Nana is so chatty that some people find her annoying.
Zane is a human. Nana's a Mei'Fwa/Cat-Girl.
Zane's desperation for companionship made him slightly possessive. Nana's desperation for companionship made her project her feelings onto other people despite them expressing discomfort about it.
Zane's relationship with Nana made him softer and less guarded. Nana's relationship with Zane made her less desperate and made her love herself.
The only thing they had in common was the fact that neither believe they were capable/worthy of being loved.
Nana has eleven siblings. They all look alike, so she felt like she never stood out and was constantly overlooked. She started to act different at school, more "cute," and gave herself the name Kawaii-Chan to make people notice her.
Zane became partially blind as a toddler at the hands of his older brother. Said older brother spent years making fun of Zane's disability, the disability HE caused. Zane felt insecure about his face as even his classmates called him names. Because of this, he became guarded and mean to keep everyone away. He gets shocked at kindness because he hadn't experienced that from anyone that wasn't family.
They both see each other, the REAL them, as perfection.
Zane thinks Kawaii-Chan, the clingy and loud girl, is cute. Zane also thinks that Nana Ashida, the shy and quieter girl, is beautiful and everything he's ever dreamed of.
Nana thinks Zane, the constantly masked emo boy, is cool and mysterious. Nana also thinks that Zane, the half-blind freckled boy, is gorgeous and feels lucky to be loved by him.
Every character I love is always the most shippable person in the series/movie. It's no different with Zane.
Zanvis (Zane x Travis) is Golden Retriever x Black Cat. Travis is loud, emotional, affectionate, and impulsive. Zane is dry, reserved, and sarcastic. The contrast practically writes itself.
Zana / ZaneChan (Zane x KawaiiChan) is Also Golden Retriever x Black Cat, but softer. KC brings out Zane's gentler side in a way Travis doesn't.
Zaron (Zane x Aaron) is Secretly Sweet x Secretly Sweet. Two people who act stoic but care way more than they admit. A relationship built on quiet understanding.
Zaronmau (Zane x Aaron x Aphmau) The trio dynamic is ridiculously strong because Aphmau bridges the gap between the boys. Aaron and Zane both have completely different relationships with her, and she knows how to pull both of them out of their shells.
Zaurence (Zane x Laurence) → Smart x Smart, but in different ways. Laurence is socially intelligent and charismatic; Zane is analytical and observant. Lots of banter potential.
Zeony (Zane x Teony) another Smart x Smart pairing, but with more academic energy. They'd absolutely be the couple correcting each other's work while secretly enjoying it.
Zene (Zane x Gene) is Enemies to Lovers. The tension is already built in. Half the appeal is watching them argue.
Zanlyn/Kane (Zane x Katelyn) is Competitive Lovers. Neither wants to lose. Everything becomes a challenge.
Zim (Zane x Kim) is pure cute factor. Kim's friendliness balances Zane's awkwardness surprisingly well.
I think the reason why I'm obsessed with the Ro'Meave family is because most of them are blue-coded people. Vylad is the only green person in the family and, even then, I love green, too. I just love blue and green loving/wearing people.
Love languages for the Ro'Meave brothers! Some of them fit in more than one category to me.

GARROTH
For Garroth, platonically, I'd say Words of Affirmation and Acts of Service. At first, I had WoA and Gift Giving, but I feel like Acts of Service fits better. I don't doubt that he'd give gifts, but I feel like Acts of Service is more him. He'll always help, even if you didn't ask, just because he feels like it's the better thing to do in that situation. He wouldn't hesitate
Romantically, for Garroth, I was torn between Quality Time or Physical Touch. Honestly, I was ready to give him both. Both feel like him, but I think Physical Touch is more him.
In my mind, if his partner wants to do something/watch something with him that he isn't really interested in, he'll join them, but he'll be noticeably quieter/uninterested.
Physical Touch feels very Garroth. He'd definitely be all for PDA. SO sitting on his lap, snuggling in public, uncontrollable face kisses, etc, all feel like things Garroth would do with his spouse.
ZANE
For Zane, platonically, I think it's Acts of Service and Quality Time, depending on how close you are to him, but subtly.
He wouldn't be "loud" about the things he does for you as a friend, but would appreciate it if you were to (privately) acknowledge his work.
If you're a close friend, it'd be Acts of Service + Quality Time. Movie nights, shopping together, playing make believe (something he adorably does canonically), etc.
For Zane, romantically, I think it'd be AoS, QT, and Physical Touch. He's not really a touchy person with any of his friends. The only friend he's seen regularly touching/being touched by is Aphmau, his closest friend.
However, in a relationship, I feel like physical touch is a language of his. He wouldn't be all for PDA, but in private? Snuggle Bug, Kiss Konnoisseur, etc.
VYLAD
For Vylad, I think for both platonic and romantic, his love languages are Quality Time and Words of Affirmation.
However, for romantic, he also has Physical Touch. When it comes to physical Touch, he's a bit of a combo of his brothers. Like Garroth, he's not afraid of PDA, but he's not going all out either. Soft kisses, hand holding, and general closeness is fine, but lap sitting and the like are a no. Like Zane, he's all for the touching and intimacy in private, though.
