Every time you censor a word describing something unpleasant - like writing abuse as ab*se, rape as r*pe, covid as c*vid, or murder as m*rd*r, what you're communicating is that there is something shameful in describing reality as it is. There is nothing shameful in talking about reality as it is, but fascists want you to think there is. Stop censoring words. Write them in full so people know you feel no shame in discussing these topics.

Shadow Milk was bored. There was no other way to put it- the overly familiar voices of Eternal Sugar and Burning Spice were grating against his ears. He could care less about whateve it was they were talking about- and don't even get him started on Mystic Flour and Silent Salt. The two were nowhere to be seen. With a dramatic flourish, he disappeared, not bothering to watch the reactions of his fellow Beasts.

Dragging his feet through a forest, Shadow Milk was walking... Somewhere. Vines were trailing weakly against his feet, but not truly hurting him, yet the familiar silk like ivy was still mildly jarring to his senses. It didn't take long for him to reach his destination- a small cottage house with flowers and sprouts climbing the walls and covering the roof- a house that looked entirely in place.

He swung the door open while singing, "Little moth~ I'm here!!"

Yet, there was no response. His partner always came running when he announced a visit. Groaning, Shadow Milk walked through the building.

He stopped at a door placed just in front of a window, sunlight pouring in as though it were a waterfall and shining on the delicately woven paper crafts decorating the door. Humming, he pressed his ear to the door and heard it- the soft splashing of water against a tile and music flowing in a steady rhythm.

Snickering, Shadow Milk opened the door and walked into the room, the sweet sickley scent of something honey like drifting in the air. He walked into the bathroom to see them- knees drawn to their chest, water soaked hair trailing down their back in gentle waves and curls, a CD player close enough for them to change the song, yet far enough for them to be able to not get it too wet.

They jumped slightly when they felt someone's bare skin press against their own bare back, but they knew who it was- he was the only person who would slip into the house without any notice, after all.

"Rough day at school?" He murmured softly, reaching up to rub shampoo into their hair. They didn't answer- which admittedly wasn't good enough for Shadow Milk, but it was clear his love wasn't in the mood to talk. So, he began to tease. "Well, bug, it was irresponsible of you to not lock your doors. Someone could've come. In and stolen you~"

They giggled quietly. "I'm in the middle of nowhere. And, truly, only you know the exact location of my home. Who's going to even find me?" they asked drowsedly, leaning back.

Shadow Milk rinsed out the shampoo coating his love's hair, chuckling softly. A comfortable silence settled back over the two- which, granted, annoyed Shadow Milk, but he could deal with it!

Because for the person in his arms, the star of his eyes, the one who took in his theatrics and teasing with nothing but love and adoration for him, he was their safe space.

And such trust was near impossible to find.
