“oh you’re gay? you’re not into me right?”
MY HEART BROKE AFTER READING THIS. This is a message sent by someone who’s in Marawi City. English isn’t my first language but I’ll try my best to translate this text message.
“Arianne. Jessica.
Both of you are my two best friends. You’re like a sister to me. You don’t know each other but I just wanna say that I love you guys so much. There is no signal here right now. We are under attack by ISIS. And we are hearing gunshots and grenade. Our mayor isn’t confirming the situation in here to the media. If you know someone, or if you have a connection to the police, soldiers or whatever, we are calling for help. Marawi is on red alert. Someone was beheaded, civilians were shot, schools were burnt. I am telling you, ISIS does not represent ISLAM. These people are evil. I love you guys. I don’t know if I’ll ever see you again. I love you so much. Forgive me if I ever done you wrong. I’m not sure what will happen tomorrow. Heard that it’ll be worse tomorrow. I am traumatized by the gunshots. They’ve been saying that this situation is still mild and tomorrow will get even worse. Electricity was cut off in some places and I hope they won’t do that here.”

This is heartbreaking 😭💔
As a Filipino, it is hard for me to cope with this. Many of our brothers and sister sin Marawi, Lana del Sur are suffering because of the greed of a few. It is hard to accept the fact that we are battling against our own kin by force to restore peace, but it is still not visible in the horizon before us. After hearing about what happened in Manchester, we also grieved with them. We knew how it felt like to be unsafe in the only place we call home.
This was not caused by our Muslim brethren, it is caused by terrorism. It chooses no age, no gender, no status, no RELIGION or even nationality. IT CHOSS anyone. The only way to fight is to spread awareness and unite against them.
oh my gods, someone S P R E A D this
G U Y S
PLEASE, I don’t care what religion or what belief you have in you or if you’ve got nothing at all,
but please, P L E A S E pray for my brothers and sisters in Marawi…!
Of all things to happen – why must this happen when we see a glimpse of hope in our country?!.. Why now?!..
Please pray for them.. pray for us… Pray for the Philippines.
Please…
PRAY FOR PHILIPPINES! THIS IS NOT ISLAM!
You have a dinner date for seven pm. What time do you arrive?
Seven. Am. Case the restaurant. Run background checks on the staff. Can the cook be trusted? If not I gotta kill him. Dispose of the body. Replace him with my own guy no later than 4:30.
Langst
We’ve all read those Langst post talking about how the team deals when Lance dies. What about one where Lance watches everyone else die instead.
Shiro, with the amount of times he disappears, is the first one to die. It hits the team hard because unlike last time, they know he’s not coming back. Shiro himself made sure of it. After a run in with Haggar, she messed with his mind and caused him to turn on his team. In a moment when his mind cleared, he used his Galra arm to pierce his heart to ensure that he could never be used by the Galra to hurt his family again. It takes Lance a while to pull himself together because Shiro was his hero. He just always seemed indestructible, or ready to bounce back. It never occurred to Lance that he would be the first to go. Lance had always assumed it would be himself. Somehow though, they pulled through and continued fighting the good fight.
It was all going well until they lost their next Paladin: Pidge. After being reunited with Matt they both put their brains together to get through enough Galra security codes to find the work camp their father was on. On a mission to save him, Pidge got trapped under some rocks from an explosion in the cave. She encouraged everyone to go on without her. It took some time, but she managed to convince them. Well everyone, but her dad and brother who’d stay by her side until the end. The cave collapsed and they lost 3 of the Holts that day. Lance never got over that one. He felt as though he failed to protect the youngest of the group, his little sister. He made a promise to himself that he would be the one to break the news to Mrs. Holt if he ever made it back to Earth.
Now down two paladins, they needed to start finding replacements. No one wanted to, but they couldn’t win the war without Voltron. It was Lance’s idea to let the Lions decide since that was the only option. For now, they’d have to do without Voltron…and their trusty advisor.
The day they lost Coran, was the day that Lance saw red. Coran was doing a supply run for the castle when the Galra came to the Swap Moon. Usually, this place was neutral ground, but not at the moment it appeared. He radioed to the others for help, but they didn’t reach in time. A Galra soldier was about to kill a young lad when Coran spoke up. He was shot right between the eyes and was dead before he hit the floor. Everyone arrived just in time to see it happened. Allura saw it through the feed on their helmets’ camera. Bodies after bodies began to drop as Lance fired after the soldiers. After Hunk carried Coran’s body back to the castle, and Keith calmed Lance down enough for a retreat, they wormholed away.
It wasn’t until he went to check on Allura later that night, that he allowed himself to cry. They had both lost a father figure that day. Nothing was really quite the same after that.
Time passed and they had found others to pilot Green and Red. Black had decided to keep Keith as her pilot since in some ways he reminded her of Shiro. The new pilots had the personalities to match their Lions, but could never fill the void the others had left in their wake.
Only when he felt he could start moving on again, is when Lance lost his Sunshine. Hunk was as selfless as always, but this time it cost him his life. They were on a mission to liberate a planet, but the entire thing was a trap. The planet’s inhabitants were working for the Galra. They were on foot being chased by some hound-like creatures sent after them. Hunk being the strongest blocked off a door to give the others time. He told them to go, he’d only slow them down as he wasn’t fast enough. It took nothing short of knocking Lance out in order to get him to leave Hunk behind. When he came to he was already in Blue’s cockpit. The sadness he could feel coming from her let him know that his best friend was gone. Filled with so much rage and sorrow, he heightened Blue’s power to an extent he didn’t know was possible, and froze the entire planet. No one told him anything, what would they say?
Lance didn’t believe his heart could break anymore. As usual, Keith had to be the one to prove him wrong. Why couldn’t Keith have listened to him this one time? Why couldn’t Keith have slowed down instead of just rushing in? It was an ambush, and Lance had thought as much but Keith wouldn’t listen. When they became surrounded, Lance had almost convinced Keith to retreat and fight another day. Then one of the soldiers began talking about his mother, and Keith lost it. They had met her a few years back, but she too had passed in the war. After Keith was shot several times, Red came onto the scene guns blazing. Even though he was no longer her pilot, she would always think of him as her cub. Unfortunately, he died due to blood loss since they weren’t able to get him back to the castle on time. He never stopped mourning. Lance had lost his friend, teammate, and his lover all in the same day. Now he was the only one of the Earth Paladins left. Being the only one left with the most experience, Lance was made the Black Paladin.
Try as he may Lance couldn’t protect everyone, and the universe proved that the day he lost Allura. She was strong and commanding until her dying breath, and that’s what Lance loved about her. She had been poisoned. Not a fast-acting one either, but one that took months to take control. Once they symptoms started showing was when you’d know it was too late to administer the antidote. Lance felt so helpless unable to do anything, and he broke. He wasn’t strong enough to save her or anyone he cared for. How could he end this war, if he couldn’t protect those dearest to him? How could he lead this new team into battle when he had failed his old one? Allura used the last of her strength to transfer her quintessence to him so that he would be able to open wormholes and communicate with Balmeras the way she did. She told him that she was just being selfish, hoping that at least this way a piece of Altea can continue to live on. And with that, she passed. The last living Altean, the last member of Lance’s original Space Family.
How to make Keith go soft
insinuate you think he is family/part of your team
How to crush him
insinuate he is being abandoned/has to leave his loved ones
Short-haired Allura is Iconic
honestly i feel like the paladins already accurately represent what the lions would look like as people but i wanted to try to draw this anyways!!
