Fem!Hiccup au: the final exam
She managed to escape with Toothless, with Hookfang being captured again.
Stayed until sundown in their quarry, hoping that Astrid would get out of the village and tell her what happened after she left, but no luck - Astrid and others were confined to their homes while adults were discussing what to do.
Left afterwards with her basket of stuff (she left it in quarry just in case) and went to the dragon's island. In my au, Hiccup told Astrid that if something happens in the arena or she chikens out and leaves before the exam, Astrid should tell Stoic about the nest and that they shouldn't go there after a couple days.
Astrid did tell adults about that, and then, when everybody started prepping for a raid, went and gathered all of the teens to tell them the truth about Hiccup - she was the one to show taming to them ( Stoic took Meatlug as the safest dragon to manage, and Fishlegs had to fly with Snotlout <33)
Afterwards the fight goes as in canon, just with Fishlegs going to rescue the grommel first (he is a strong boi, he would be able to break her chains)
Hiccup keeps a grudge for a while after that, but Stoic just wants his daughter safe and on the island, where he could keep an eye on her, so it's just a silent living until Gobber forces them to start talking to each other <3
