Hey y'all! I'm back on my bullshit and this time I'm coming back with a Ben/Javi fic. They already have a prompt in my fictober fic (the 26th) with this paragraph:

Javi’s heart squeezes a little bit. As soon as he came back from Big Alice, he thought nobody would want to come near him—least of all Ben. He’d psyched himself up on the walk home, mentally preparing for a break-up speech. Hardening his heart against the rejection that was surely coming. Imagine his surprise, then, when Ben welcomed him back with open arms, hugging him tight, not letting go. When they slept together that first night, Ben kissed every one of Javi’s scars, then held him close until they both fell asleep.

Over there, the whole event of Javi coming home after the dog attack is kinda glossed over. But I kept reading that paragraph and so wanting to flesh it out more, which is what this fic is about.

Melanie: hello, Joseph.

Wilford: Melanie! You’re a MILF!

Melanie: … do you know what that stands for?

Wilford: Alex told me it means ugly woman who stole my train. The letters make more sense in the original Icelandic.

Melanie: will you… will you tell her that I love her?

Wilford: not a chance! But I shall ring tomorrow with more insults! Over and out!

Melanie: I’m getting that girl a volt sled for her birthday.

Very proud today - I finished the headcanon-turned-fanfiction where Mel meets Alex’s father, loses him, and then connects with Bennett in the aftermath. (previous instalment here).  

We start with some words from Wilford and then transition to Ben, 1st person narrative. I love Ben in this fiction. He’s brave in the mundane, everyday ways that good people are brave. Also, he tells Mel she’s “amazing in every dimension” and he calls Wilford an asshole. What’s not to love?
