So I saw the musical, Waitress, for the first time on Friday, then read @ongreenergrasses's incredible fic In Your Echo on Saturday, and accidentally spent my entire Sunday writing 7k of post-canon accidentally pregnant Johanna, ft. Capitol morphling relapse, strained relationship with Annie, and sort-of being held hostage by Annie's well-meaning mother.

It's not finished yet, but the first couple of chapters are out now:

I love the insight this gives us into Mags's sacrifice in Catching Fire. In her first Games, she wanted to protect her district partner, but obviously, she wasn't able to do that. In the Quarter Quell, she gets the opportunity to sacrifice her life to protect the lives of her district partner, not to mention Katniss, Peeta, and Annie.

Wiress dies in daylight, out in the fresh air, singing one of her songs.

Even though they died in the Quell, they both had their desires fulfilled.
