crabs really are hilarious animals because of the way they eat by ripping things apart into absurdly small pieces with their hugelarge claws and then carefully putting the teeny tiny fragments into their little mouths one at a time like popcorn. i read a paper on the blue crab once that referred to this method of eating as saying they "disassemble" their prey. DISASSEMBLE. getting swallowed by a shark or blasted by a jellyfish is one thing, but there's an extra level of brutality in getting meticulously disassembled like legos
